Watch the last few mins of Wags video here. The only thing that seems wrong- is that the carret will actually be to the RIGHT if you are late/slow and left if you are early/fast. Had some trouble myself, but follow this to the letter, and as long as you are within reason to hit the TOT, it should work fine.

DCS World 2.5.x Caucasus Terrain Textures
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to Mustang's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
The last version is brilliant Mustang. Thanks for all the hard work! -
There has been a development here. I managed to get the firmware sorted. But when I log in it says: "Not sync" Then when I load my profile (VPC Mt50 + TMW) is says SYNCED (At the button turn green) However, when I press "Save device profile" or try to calibrate and save, it is once again not synced. I have updated my ticket with this information as well. The semi good news is that the controllers is now visible and usable under "Game controllers", but I want to get it working proper with the software still.

Thanks! I have submitted a ticket. I watched the clip above, but things did not look the same/worked the same way. Thanks for the quick reply Cyph3r. Hoping to sort it when the ticket gets through:)

** DCS: F-14 Development Update - September!! **
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Probably trailer and/or pre-order. -
I own a T-50 base (with a Warthog stick). I used to calibrate it with the default windows game controllers option. This worked mostly fine, but I wanted to test the software from Virpils page. I download and initiate the installer that says that I have the wrong version and there cannot do squat in that software. Going back to 'game controllers' the T-50 is still listed, but when I press it I get "Your controllers is not connected correctly. Please verify that it is plugged into your computer'. It is plugged in. I have re-plugged it in 3 times, and now I have a defunct joystick..

This will be a defining moment in air combat simulation. Your dedication to the most iconic of jets is simply stunning. Rest assured- I will throw money at everything you guys make. Can't wait for the 7th. -
Ground and Building textures Mod thread
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to Ghostrida9's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Nice!! -
This is not going to happen for any forseeable future. The Normandy map alone, which is basically a pin-prick in your suggestion, took years, have been out several and is still well under developed. The area you have have dozens of major cities, thousands of smaller settlements and a hypercomplex infrastucture. Futhermore, you can't just whop our a WW2 version first or alongside it- the differences are severe, and WW2 buffs don't like modern maps to begin with. The stuff you propose here MIGHT happen (To a degree) at a later point, when ED "Full scale earth" technology is implemented (which is the plan down the line) AND they have substantial terrain making skill. The reason is that DCS at this point can only handle a set amount of objects before it starts hurting performance. That is why they did not expand the Caucasus map further (even though they intended to). Now compare the Caucasus with its extremely limited population and infrastructure to France, Great Britian, Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany... A few objects over the limit I am afraid. You cannot compare to what you have seen in other products. It is an entirely different beast on all levels. Take my post with as many grains of salt as you wish- but I would be extremely surprised if you saw this map realized in a 10 year timeframe. Mark my words.

Sounds terrific. Look foward to hearing more of it hopefully:) Great work. Still working on the WW2 stuff as well? Any progress made on Spitfire gun sounds?

[FIXED INTERNALLY] Canopy bug following Update 6 Hotfix.
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to bart's topic in Bugs and Problems
This bug is STILL alive and well, as pr 15th August patch. -
Fair enough, but maps will keep coming, even if they have a lot in their plate, so this thread is still valid. ED will announce a new map later this year accordring to Wags (Some recent youtube clip, don't remember which) and Ugra are making Syria (When they should be completing Normandy) and Razbam is doing the Falklands. I doubt that ED's new map is WW2, and would assume it would cater to the stream of new modern jets out or in the pipeline (Hornet, Tomcat, Mudhen, Viper etc) and since Afghanistan has been mentioned, that is what I would assume. Then again you never know.

Pacific maps are a total waste until we have at least 2 relevant opposing aircraft (at least!) and relevant AI assets. The OP map is the map that should have been built from the start for DCS, at least the eastern half of it. That way, the AI pack carry over just fine, the existing planeset get their proper setting, and we are a step closer to realizing the potential of DCS WW2. The Tip of England would of course be a huge boost (once again) since it allows for escort missions of B-17's as well as plausible scenarios for 41-43 as well. I just hope it will be the crew that made the PG map that would make it, and that they would continue the trend of blending sat images for high alt, and artist textures for low alt. It would be a godsend, but I am not hyping myself as I did for Normandy.

Loving this mod and using it extensively with our virtual Spit squadron. I have a few minor questions: When we fly a group of 4, requesting a picture from RDF gives us 4 huge boxes, showing the contacts relative to all members. Would it be possible to tweak it so that it only displays the information for the player requesting it- so the same information would not be repeated for all players? Also, is it possible to tweak how long these messages are displayed, as I'd like them to show a bit shorter. Thanks again for a great mod!

Awesome! Thanks!

DCS World 2.5.x Caucasus Terrain Textures

Fully understandable. Looks forward to all future tunings! -

REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to Mustang's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
Just some input for the latest version. The blending is now very smooth and things look indeed very good down low. However, the loss of detail at altitude makes it (for me) less attractive for high fliers compared to the previous version. A matter of taste off course. -

REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to Mustang's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
Excellent. Have you started to poke around looking at the fields for future tuning? Just an interesting point made in a group I am flying with- there were sceptical of ground mods, since all had to use them, unless there would be trouble with jtac designation. Off course the noise adjustment does not affect that, but it might be worth thinking of when playing with fields, as in not replacing yellow fields with green fields and stuff like that. Just a thougt. Either way- great to see continuous improvement!:D -
FOG causing artifactiong- Pixels (Normandy)
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to REDEYE_CVW-66's topic in Object Bugs
Edit: I might appear that the problem was the ingame MSAA conflicting with the Nvidia MFAA setting. Turning the latter off have appearantly sorted the issue. -

I have turned off all AA related settings in my Nvidia control panel. I have tried numerous aspect rations and resolutions. I have tried all manner of shadow settings. Still the same problem. -
When you get in cockpit- look down, press shift-M. That will freeze the current rear view mirror image. By looking down in the pit, the mirror will reflect the blue sky, looking good, without using eating frames (or functioning)

FOG causing artifactiong- Pixels (Normandy)
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to REDEYE_CVW-66's topic in Object Bugs
Still having huge problems with pixels using fog. It is not map related. My system is gtx 1080, 16 gb ram, i5. I enjoy overall solid performance. Here are some examples and my settings The problem exists with both 2 and 4x msaa. Turning msaa off completely seems to get rid of it, but produces a rather severe artefacting (Note the "shadow" as well as the cut screen at the top. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -
