For some reason, I cannot get Tomsk's "Prune" tool working with the latest "F-14 over the PG" camp. For the Hornet version it works fine, but when trying with the Tomcat, it just crashes when trying to generate. The standard one is simply to heavy for my rig to get 40+ FPS. Any ideas? (Yes, I put in all the correct parameters, same as in the Hornet:)

Sad to hear that HB considers this close to final. Things should always be improved upon. Especially this early in the early access cycle. The flyby's sound plane weird, and that is not due to it missing a 'hornet howl', but more to do with the mix and the way it cuts in when viewed from the front. No need to be an audio expert to hear it. Compere to a few real flybys' and you get the idea that there is room for improvement. I have no problems with internal (never sat in one) except that there is a distinct noise in the sample that can be heard looping in the cockpit (Not as bad as the Viggen, which is mod dependent to fix). Agreed that the missile sounds are Hollywood from inside the pit. If even one SME can confirm this is how it sounds I would have no problem with it. Love the sound of the button clicks, although they are surely way, way to loud when mixed with the engine, but it is a compromise I can live with, since we VR pilots don't get the same physical feedback a real pilot has, so the sound is a neat workaround. I think HB's work on this module is of extremely high quality, and it would be a shame to compromise in the engine sound department, though I must say that there are still VERY noticable audio issues in the Viggen, so maybe sound design must sometime be downprioritized.. Don't get me wrong- love the module, and HB for making it, but the bar is set now, and should be kept all the way towards full release.

Dear Heatblur, holy cow, what an amazing job!

Love the cat to death. Everything I hoped it would be and much more! This will be my bird of choice for a very, very long time to come. -
Will try. Does it have to be on the OS drive, or can it just as well be on the game drive, which I have on an SSD?

For the last couple of months I have had trouble with freezes/crashes that last anywhere from 15- 60+ seconds before I have to alt-tab out or the game magically comes back to life (But then I am usually dead). No crash log is generated. I cannot for the life of me find out what causes it and it has broken to many MP session for me to stand it anymore. It usually happens between 30-60 mins on heavy missions. I have done the usual deleted fxo/metashader All drivers up to date. Preload has been maxed out (Because I have gotten stutters when it is lower). Graphics: Low shadows, flat terrain shadows, the rest on high. Swap file controlled by windows. Power options set to high performance both in Nvidia control panel and in Windows. Specs: Windows 10 i5 3,4 ghz GTX 1080ti 16 GB ram

T-50 base problems with X-axis calibration
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to REDEYE_CVW-66's topic in VIRPIL Controls
Edit- FIXED. By clicking into everyone of the buttons in the buttons page and setting manually to 'NORMAL'- all buttons, including the hat, has resumed normal operations. Thanks for input and advice. -
T-50 base problems with X-axis calibration
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to REDEYE_CVW-66's topic in VIRPIL Controls
Have read the manual letter for letter now. Still no dice. All buttons are set to ON- so that means that they actually activate when I release them. This causes a number of problems (Push the gun trigger- nothing happens- release it, and it drains the ammo) as well as the non-functioning hat... Getting frustrated (But thanks for the input so far) :D -
T-50 base problems with X-axis calibration

No will do it tomorrow. Is there any way to roll back? I saw some people in the Virpil forums mention it, but I haven't found out how. -

Her you can see the hat-switches activated (4 of them) But here you can see me in the "Joystick tester" window. All the other buttons show, but you can see me pressing a HAT switch to the right (16) without it registering in the JT window. -
T-50 base problems with X-axis calibration
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to REDEYE_CVW-66's topic in VIRPIL Controls
I seemed to have fixed the axis issue after doing a firmware update. However- I now have a new problem. The hat-switch on my Warthog is not registering. It is not a hardware issue- because when I press "BUTTON" in the Virpil config tool, the button light up when I move the hat (Buttons 13-16), however, when I have my profile loaded (T-50 + TMV) and press "VPC JOY TESTER", all buttons work, except for the hat... Some people say they have had problems with the latest firmware- but I don't know how to roll back. -
T-50 base problems with X-axis calibration
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to REDEYE_CVW-66's topic in VIRPIL Controls
Everything appears nice and tight and as it should be. I tightened all screws very slightly (did not use force). Recalibrated- all looked good, but then the same thing. It seems to get worse by the day. I double checked in Windows 10 "Game controllers" that everything was set to "Default", as I have been told that the Windows calibration messes up Virpil product. After a Virpil calibration, loading up DCS, the first move of the stick gives me full axis command. Them after "circling" the stick a couple of times, I am unable to get the axis to move fully RIGHT, while the LEFT one is maxed out with a 50% stick move to the left. The more I move the stick, the more it gets out of calibration. -
Owning a T-50 base (Warthog grip) that I am overall very happy with. However, over the last few months, a problem has been building up. After calibrating, using the supplied software, everything checks out. I follow all the steps and the readouts are fine- so is the stick in game. However, what happens is that the stick starts pulling to the left (not the physical stick, but the X-axis). In the beginning, I overcame (Use a little bit of trim, recalibrate- all is good). However, it has gotten worse. Now I need to recalibrate every time is start the computer and after a short while, the stick will start pulling to the left, getting progressively worse. THis is what my NEUTRAL stick position shows after a short session of play (Calibrated and zero'd out just an hour or so before) I am more than a little convinced that this is a hardware issue, and not related to software and calibration, as these work just as adverstised Anyone had similiar problems? I was hoping not having to screw the thing open, but if it comes to that, I have no choice. Help much appreciated. (Posted a ticket to Virpil with the same info as well)

For those not fans of the F-14 Wallpaper
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to FZG_Immel's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
The link here leads me to a different tomcat picture than your background. Mind showing a direct link for the one you are using? It looks great. (Could not find it on the linked site) -
Loving getting to grips with the module! Just some minor suggestions: 1: The walkman should be audible in external view when you have checked the "hear radio in external view" option. Is it not the point to hear the groovy tracks as we watch ourselves posing in the sunset or lining up on the cat?:) 2: Walkman is affected by the "hear like in cockpit" option. I always keep this option on, because I don't like hearing stuff I think the pilot will not hear, but right now this muffles the music- which I think should be crisp either way. No pilots (that I know of) listen to music when on ops, so the feature is totally unrealistic- BUT VERY COOL nonetheless. Hope that these things are something you might consider so we can enjoy METEOR tunes while ripping up the skies:)

Try turning off mirrors. I gained 20+ fps by it. Not in VR though.

Game Crash Solution Of The Problem
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to TheConqueror's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Testing this (With the app that was posted). In addition, in another thread a user reported that Win 10 was missing updates. When I checked Windows update, it said "up to date", but when I searched for updates in downloaded a ton of stuff. Will check back in a week after running some heavy MP missions (which have killed my game with CTD's lately) -
Texture mod for Caucasus 2.5 terrain
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to Starway's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Overall nice looking. Not sure about the colours, which I find a bit on the pale side- but the fields looks like a good step up and is something I have been hoping for. Good to see you back dude! -
1:If possible, join a virtual squadron, or use Wingman Finder to find someone with experience to fly with. It will be much, much more enjoyable, and you will learn 100X faster by doing this. People in these communities are generally very friendly and know a shit-ton. 2: If that is not an option for you- focus on one thing at a time. Watch vids and practive BVR until you get the hang of the basic tactics and terminology. Learn things by category and work your way down. This is not the "right way", it is just a suggestion. (All of these have dozens and dozens of vids on youtube. I prefer Wags, Jabbers, Redkite, Spudknocker and Crash Laobi, but there are many, many more. Start-up/shutdown Navigation Case I and Case III carrier landing in differents weather and lighting conditions Air to air refueling ACM dogfighting with guns BVR/Radar Dumbs bombs, rockets and strafing Smart bombs and missiles.... etcetc As you work your way down, the vids you see on Youtube will start making sense, and will give you ideas to try out, moving to more and more complex setups and scenarions

DCS World 2.5.x Caucasus Terrain Textures
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to Mustang's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
I did not think it was that bad to be honest. When noise squares have easily identifiable features that repeat, I spot it easy, but it hasn't bothered me here, not yet at least. I don't recommend shaking it up for now, I just wanted crisper and less blurry textures at low level. Depends on where you fly also ofc. -

DCS World 2.5.x Caucasus Terrain Textures
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to Mustang's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
Good version overall. A tid to grainy for me a low alt, but I resolved it by increasing the "noisepersquare" a little. The noise has few things that stand out, so it is pretty tiling resistant. The mountains and rocks are VERY good now in their latest form and very convincing. Overall very good and miles beyond the default. The weak link as I see it now are the fields, which in this map are very far from reality in the region. The long, rectangular fields have been attempted and succeded by other texture makers by slicing up the textures- but I am sure you have though of it and that there is a reason you have not chosen to do it. Either way- love your work as always. Just to illustrate for constuctive purposes-This dude: don't remember the name I'm afraid, nailed the fields. His 'noise' has woods and other details, so that wouldn't work, but the tiling and looks of the regional fields in Georgia/Southern Russia er spot on (Prolly because he used sat's from there) This is 1.5 obviously. -
Oh yes... It's an ancient bug that never gets fixed. Dynamic weather clouds are fine for some reason.
