  1. BMW 801D-2 required ALWAYS C3 fuel, never run with B4! BMW 801D was project, abandoned, for this engine running with B4 fuel, it never materialized. There is nothing like better fuel for A-8, there is only C3 fuel, end.
  2. Hello, "At an altitude of approximately 3300 +/- 200 meters, the supercharger automatically switches supercharger speed from low to high." is written in DCS A-8 manual, p.99. I think it is not correct, according to available reports. I have not found information where exactly has to supercharger switch from low to high. So, my complain is only based on power charts in available reports. When i fly with engine setting 2700R.P.M, supercharger is switched to high speed from low at approx. altitude 2850m. And this is most likely correct, according to charts in reports. Unfortunately, when i fly with lower engine setting, this altitude wil change and this seems to be incorrect. With 2400RPM superchrager switches at altitude approximately 3750m. With 2300RPM superchrager switches at altitude approximately 4100m. All reports where is chart with plane performance (level speed or climb..) show that altitude where superchergers gears are switched is slightly below 3000m (for all engine settings). I am not saying it has to occur at certain (and only) altitude, but difference between them is not several hundreds of meters. I tried it several times. When i dived, superchager switched back to low gear mostly at around critical altitude for actual power setting, it seems to be incorrect too. But it required deeper look.
  3. It is only 80kgs (115ltrs) extra fuel in auxiliary fuel tank (3rd behind cockpit). It just increase aircraft endurance. Not sure if it really works. It is not choice between B4 and C3 fuel.
  4. Did you switch ON all C/Bs, including that in rear Circuit breaker panel? I did the same mistake in my first cold dark start and i was without flaps control and others...
  5. No offence, but judge aircraft's performance on "experience" from air-quake server is IMHO the worst way hot to do it. It reminds me time when several "aces" complained about the Mustang incorrect performance, again based on "experience" from air-quake server.
  6. I have to correct myself... :music_whistling: I set map (Caucasus) to 15°C and 760mmHg conditions and tried it again. Without ETC and cooling flaps close ... 535km/h Without ETC and cooling flaps fully open ... 518km/h With ETC and cooling flaps close ...522km/h with ETC and cooling flaps fully open ... 506km/h Altitude was between 10 - 15m above sea, full power, propeller auto and with auxiliary fuel tank empty. So, if EDs A-8 is modeled on plane with 540km/h in report, then it is pretty close.
  7. When i briefly tried her afternoon i reached approximately 505km/h with ETC and approximately 520 without it at low altitude (10 - 15m above sea). I agree, she is probably slower. My guess, 15 - 20km/h is missing here for 1.42ATA :helpsmilie:
  8. Hello, Repeater Compass does not work as is written in A-8 manual or as it works in D-9 and K-4. When the aircraft’s heading changes the Rotary compass rose turns instead of the aircraft symbol. The aircraft symbol holds its position, but it should turns not the compass rose. Fuel selector switch should have tree position, but lever has only two. When i want to see fuel amount in aft fuel tank i have to twice press right mouse button, that is correct. But fuel selector switch lever has only left (forward tank) and right (aft fank) positions, the middle position is missing. So, if i right click ones, lever goes to right position, not to middle (fuel contents gauge shows 0 fuel like it should). i hope it is understandable...:)
  9. Switch off all "takeoffassist" and similar useless things and do not try it on Normandy map. Hold stick full back at least up to 125km/h and then slowly release it, all with full power 1.42ATA. Check your flaps! i could not retract them on Normandy map, spawn is with full flaps down on "cold start". I did not realize about them and my first take off was wild with them full down...
  10. 250kg bomb is available immediately after release.
  11. Both reached frontline units around the same time, September-October 44. MW was not standard for Dora until 1945. K-4 was with MW from start.
  12. It's very sad news indeed.
  13. Additional (3rd) fuel tank which was installed behind cockpit, that was the reason why ETC was moved 200mm forward and why was permanent...
  14. Yes, for time when it is going to be released, but for the future? Who knows what the future will bring...
  15. If you mean 2 MG151/20 in one gondola (additional 4 cannons instead of 2 MG FF in wings), it was under A-5/U12 model. MK103/30 was used under F-8 wings. Both saw very limited action.
  16. Switch next to gunsight is for gunsight's gyro power not for gunsight itself. Gunsight "lamp" is switched by C/B marked V24.
  17. Hello, when i chose "take of from ramp" and place plane on parking place No.64 at Saint Pierre du Mont A/B, plane will spawn in the air instead of "on ramp". Does not matter if i place only plane on No.64 alone or i place another planes around, No.63,65, plane from No.64 will always spawn in the air above RWY. Open beta last edition, tested all WWII planes and both sides, did not try it on stable. EDIT: parking place No.72 is inoperative, if i place plane here i can not use it
  18. %5Bimg%5Dhttps%3A//i.imgur.com/AO62B3P.jpg[/img] So, according to that manual, up to (and not only!) 500kgs bombs or AB containers (disposable carriers) could be carried, or 4 bombs or 4 containers up to 50kg each one.
  19. ED is surprisingly quiet, they have not revealed any detail so far. For the A-8 we already have in game most of A2G weapons, if ED use them. 50kg with multiple rack 250kg 500kg and rockets W.Gr.21 (used during Normandy campaign against ground target) All these bombs are usefull for the F/G-8 when (or if) come. But ABs cluster bombs are really missing for the F/G variants and the A-8 too. I do not think that 1000kg bombs were used on planes without any modifications..
  20. fantastic
  21. one more time, may be, at least some will... hopefully %5Bimg%5Dhttps%3A//i.imgur.com/HcBbwrD.jpg[/img] %5Bimg%5Dhttps%3A//i.imgur.com/NvXeM4k.jpg[/img] %5Bimg%5Dhttps%3A//i.imgur.com/M9cCdlB.jpg[/img]
  22. What is not understandable in sentence below? Usage of increased emergency power (is) prohibited in second charger gear.
  23. Increased power for F/G-8 variants was reached by injection C3 fuel into supercharger inlet and re-set boost control. But for A-8 variant was used completely different way how to increase power %5Bimg%5Dhttps%3A//i.imgur.com/N0qTwlL.png[/img] If i understand correctly, it was done without re-set boost control! %5Bimg%5Dhttps%3A//i.imgur.com/dT2M45Z.png[/img] here is link for whole manual, i think it is quite usefull http://www.qattara.it/Documents/fw190a8.pdf
  24. I know what is written in the last newsletter, but i still think it is connected with info about F-8 model, like armor around engine. The A-8 "standard" fighter was without it, it was one of several modificatinos for "attack" models, F/G not for A, may be with exception for A-8/R2. My opinion is based on this: %5Bimg%5Dhttps%3A//i.imgur.com/4xGHj3g.png[/img] Keine C3 Einspritzung! is written in original German document for "Jager" model - Fighter A-8.
  25. Yes we are going to get F-8 too, according to newsletter and other entries here from ED staff.
