  1. Piss poor? ... what I find poor is this expectation of you that a fault of the Antivirus software, tagging as infected a file that is not, should somehow be solved by an entirely different company. Why don't you better go onto your AV company's forum and tell them that they are doing a piss poor job?
  2. When you uninstall ANY 3rd party antivirus, Windows will automatically enable its own: ms defender, without even asking. the newly enabled ms defender will promptly quarantine suspect files as expected… what you need to do is manage your AV, adding an exclusion for DCS, to avoid the av deleting files without even asking this fixes the problem going forward, but it doesnt undo your AV prior actions, so you need to do a dcs repair to recover any lost file.
  3. a reinstall does not fix this issue, as your antivirus is all too happy to delete the suspect file again … you first command your AV to not even look into the dcs folders, and only after that you run a repair to recover the lost file (a reinstall works too, but its a much lengthier process than a repair)
  4. but why redo all? I would just redo the aircraft I'm currently flying/studying ... why redo those aircraft I'm not flying anymore? I doubt anyone uses more than 2-3 aircraft at a time.
  5. Only thing I see different from my system, is that yours has this warning: "WARNING EDCORE (Main): hypervisor is active" Are you running DCS inside a Virtual Machine? a rented server maybe?
  6. I dont see this problem on my PC, which is on the latest DCS version: but I'm still on Windows 10, so maybe its a Win 11 issue only.
  7. So, you were actually editing by hand the Bindings configuration file, and didn't mention it on the original post. You should try this Mod, which stores your custom bindings at /Saved Games/ avoiding the need for touching the default bindings:
  8. hola, que bueno que hayas resuelto el problema, pues an el dcs.log no se apreciaba nada anormal. saludos
  9. Maybe this video can help a bit:

  11. OK, I did a quick test and found that these old templates, while they still somewhat work, they are now so old that the Mission Editor does not load the objects name properly. It looks like this: (wait a bit for the HD version, as its still uploading) I will do a quick update, by means of opening the original template Mission on the current Mission Editor and then Save it as Template overwriting the original. It will not fix any clipping errors that may exist (because the Caucasus Map changed when DCS 2.5 was released), but its the best I can do with the available free time that I have. This will take a few days, I will update here once the updated Templates are available. Best regards and thanks for reporting this Eduardo
  12. Its not the only way, a far more secure way is to just configure Defender to exclude from its action the DCS folder.
  13. Can you tell me which specific airbase are you using? Most don't have any flyable aircraft as they are meant to provide background elements only, the mission designer has to add the aircraft he want for his mission.
  14. Should work for everyone, but many people still believe that just the exclusion is needed, forgetting to repair the damage that the Antivirus did.
  15. Can you show us the content of your F-16C_50 folder, where your bindings are stored ... more data is needed before attempting a suggestion ... on my PC the folder looks like this:
  16. That's why I only use my PC for gaming, work is done on my Mac and I don't mix the two.
  17. Hello, Since some time ago, the MISSIONS selection GUI, displays the Map needed for each listed Mission, like this: My wish is to have the same for Campaigns, with the GUI taking the map needed from the 1st Mission of the campaign, as it currently does not have that information: on this example, the 1st Campaign needs the Nevada Map, while the other two are for Caucasus. Also, make the 1st column (Modules) narrower and give that space to the center column, where it would be more useful. The same column resizing would be nice on the MISSION screen too. A related second wish: Use a light gray color for the text of those Campaigns for which the user does not have the Map installed, and please do the same for the MISSION screen, as currently it opts to not display the mission at all if you dont have the map installed. Thank you, Eduardo

  18. Thank you for sharing it anyway, I'm not currently flying the Viggen (being very busy with the MiG-21 and the upcoming T-45 update) but saved it anyway, to try it once I get back to the Viggen. I liked the thorough readme pdf documentation and the extensive briefing (at least on the 1st mission), will expand on my impressions once I get to fly it. I took the liberty of renaming it so that it shows up on the Campaign list next to the other Viggen Campaigns that I've downloaded: Best regards and thanks again Eduardo
  21. Agree, the fault lies within the AV software, yet people expect a different developer (ED) to fix it.
  22. Did you restore the files deleted by the AV? ... if not, then yes, its user error.
  23. Windows updated its MS defender during the night. Windows Defender IS an antivirus. wonder why users alway blame DCS and never blame their crappy Antivirus which deleted part of the F-14
  24. excluding on a file by file basis solves this only short term, its better to exclude the whole dcs folder and solve this completely.
  25. Antivirus are getting more arrogant, they used to call these files "potentially unwanted" but nowadays they straight up call them "viruses" which they are not. I’ve told my AV to exclude the dcs folders from its reach, and haven’t had any more issues since.
