  1. Today I got my first notification, looks like this: Great feature ED, thank you
  2. Hi, Please, once you install your new Module, can you take a look at its following folder: DCS/Mods/name-of-corsair/Cockpit/Shape ? I wan't to know if I will be able to load its cockpit 3d-shape on Model Viewer, before I commit to a purchase, thanks a lot Eduardo
  3. The pilot interrupted the display immediately and limped back home with the broken windshield, landing safely a few minutes later (from this video): https://youtu.be/1ynqWb450dw?si=l3fCBGgO4Q2cTXkU
  4. I would have thought that the windshield should have cracked only, not outright penetration by the bird: Bird Strike Resistance Design: Engine Cowlings: The Eurofighter's main engine cowlings, located above the cockpit, are designed to withstand bird impacts. The cowlings are typically constructed with composite materials, and testing has shown that carbon composite face sheets are more effective than hybrid glass/composite face sheets in resisting bird strikes, according to ScienceDirect.com. Canopy: The canopy, which is the transparent cover over the cockpit, is also designed to withstand bird impacts. Materials: The use of composite materials in these critical areas contributes to the aircraft's bird strike resistance.
  5. During the Spanish Air Force's EUROFIGHTER Typhoon display held on June 15, 2025, off the beaches of San Javier and Santiago de la Rivera (Murcia), a bird struck just as it broke the sound barrier, forcing the pilot to end his display early.
  6. That's because older Macs used Intel processors, which allowed them to boot standard Windows in a dual boot configuration offering performance equal to that of a PC with the same processor. The M-series Macs employ apple processors and are not able to boot a standard Windows. You can employ a virtualization software like Parallels Desktop, but it can only run with a special version of Windows for ARM processors ... I really don't know if DCS can run on ARM Windows, but my guess would be that it can't. Edit: Probably it would be best to repair your mac and then sell it (or sell it as it is) and then use the money to buy a second hand PC with specs compatible with DCS
  7. Honestly, I don't see what more can ED do about it, the Sim is already free to download with two aircraft and two maps. You take youtuber's saying as absolute truth? I started on DCS with a PC that didn't cost half as much, and which I already owned and used for other games. I already owned a decent joystick as this was not my first simulator I ever flew. Again, the beginner already has access to two planes and two maps ... which he can use to learn the ropes. I flew both the Su-25T and the TF-51 for many hours before purchasing my first DLC aircraft. I purchased a cheap headtracker (this one: https://delanclip.com/product/delanclip-gamer-pro/?srsltid=AfmBOopeMxPLKWPonnhLpWgYwtccvTQFNR9d5I3FUPLqoPQrlVXGFWBx) once I was hooked by DCS, I added pedals many years later, when I became interested on helicopters, with the Mi-8, so these hardware purchases were spaced over a pretty long time, never did I felt like the cost was excessive. Not really, I needed a large drive only after I had purchased quite a lot of Maps, aircraft use up much less space than maps. You need to figure that out with any controller you want to use, not just the Xbox. It was remade already, for DCS 2.5 .. and it is perfectly usable as it is by a beginner ... and you can always fly at Marianas if you really need a map of more modern vintage. You do realize the price of the core assets is free, isnt it? .. and ED is slowly upgrading them. Maybe you are speaking for yourself .. I've played SP since 2013 and don't find it limited at all. Even if you don't want to get involved with the mission editor, there are literally hundreds of SP missions and Campaigns that you can download for free from User Files. Yeah, I agree with that statement .. tried MP with all my heart for over a year, but eventually I had to realize that I enjoy DCS more when playing just by myself, Well, of course .. if a beginner hates to study and learn, then they are on the wrong Sim and should take an easier one. I learned DCS quite easily, having a lot of Youtubers like Bunyap, Tricker, 104 maverick, and many others, who holded my hand on this journey. They have two already for that role, but I would like to have a free helicopter by ED. That's your preference ... I began using the TF-51 once I got a head tracker and found it very enjoyable, even if it can't shoot at anything. Even today, many real life pilots start learning on a tail dragger, for example: to me the TF-51 was a very satisfying challenge to learn, and led to me purchasing the Bf-109 afterwards ... shielding the beginners from this experience is not good in my opinion. The C-101 was developed by a third party, not sure if they would enjoy having to give their aircraft for free. They can use the Free-to-try mode to get some experience on the F-15C ... but I fail to see that BVR is a priority for a beginner, learning to fly properly would be more important in my opinion. I have to agree, and I wish ED would give more importance to the training missions. I know many people dislike Razbam after the debacle we witnessed on past months, but all their aircraft had great training missions that set an example to follow, That kind of beginners should really look into a simpler Sim, why fly a study-level simulator if they dislike the learning and can't read even an illustration-heavy manual like Chuck's Guides ? I have zero interest on coaching anyone lazy enough to not read the manuals. I have no way of knowing the percentage of users who uses it, but on my own case I learned about its existence a short time after starting on DCS, more or less about the same time I discovered this Website ... both the Forum and User Files are right there, on the website menu. A Campaign is not a learning tool, but an entertainment experience and for that it provides hours of enjoyment for a pretty small price. I fail to see what this ranting paragraphs have to do with making DCS more friendly? I have no idea, on my personal case I fly each Module "as is" ... if a targeting Pod or Weapon is not ready yet, I simply skip it over and learn the rest of the systems and weapons. I can always return to the aircraft in the future if I want to, meanwhile learning some other aircraft. Again, on my case, I have zero interest on readmaps or timelines .. I use DCS as is, and do not get frustrated with missing elements, instead enjoying what we already have. But I admit that from time to time I add Wishlist items so that ED can know what Users look for. Best regards to everyone Eduardo.
  8. Hi, I don't know what may be wrong on your DCS, but I can assure you that it does work on mine, just tested it today: These are the files and folder that I use: and within the Sim the kneeboard works as usual: On my example, the first tab (pink) is the Hornet default kneeboard (very basic, a single page), the 2nd (orange) are the pages at /Saved Games/Kneeboard, the 3rd (green) are the pages of the Terrain (Kola on this case), and the last tab is the DCS dynamic map. I just noticed that you are using files in .jpg format, have you tried with PNG images? Eduardo
  9. also, the IMAGES sub-folder is not needed.
  10. On Sys0, The Script "Export_BEH_Motion_Cls.lua" seems to be causing a lot of errors, can you disable it for a bit to check if it might be the cause? -.. also the C-130 and UH-60 user mod could be interfering with DCS, disable them if they are not essential on your mission.
  11. the hornet is FA-18C_hornet .. the capitalization matters
  12. you mean the one where you can't shoot at anything? I prefer a Sim where you can actually engage in military combat, even if it is within limited terrains.
  13. the link is on a prior post, a couple of pages up.
  14. hello, the original missions were meant to be used with the Stennis free carrier, not with the supercarrier, so they cant interact with the deck crew. the file was uploaded without my permission, I’ve just checked my personal messages and can’t find any request for them. The missions were created on 2021 and thus they are not really compatible with the current version of DCS. it should be soon, the developer of this new version is the user @nibbylot thanks for the link, as I was not aware of that file. best regards, Eduardo
  15. Hello, I’m re-making them for the upcoming T-45 v1.2, they will be included within the updated version so it won’t be neccesary to download them from user files. The older missions are not available anymore as they didn’t work properly on the current DCS version. best regards, Eduardo
  16. I haven’t tested it yet, but it should notify you if the file gets updated in the future, so that you can update your old downloads.
  17. hello, thanks a lot for highlighting this… I wasnt aware of it … great feature, wonder why ED doesn’t highlighted this on the newsletter
  18. i purchased mine new on 2004 and the cost was us$300 plus shipping.
  19. Hello, I’ve edited some training missions for the T-45, but i’m no sure if you are using my mission or one from another author. Mine works like this:
  20. I will wait until I’m sure that I can load its cockpit on the Modelviewer, ie it is not encrypted like on the F-5E remaster. Only then will I commit to a purchase, sadly gone are the days when I would purchase every new module on day 1
  21. from the manual: In case of aircraft damage or other emergencies, an automatic method to move the aircraft to a parking spot is available. To use this, you must stop, lower the tail hook, fold the wing, and set the throttle to idle or turn off the engine. Then, by pressing [LCtrl+LShift+LAlt+T], the aircraft will be moved to the assigned parking spot and turned into the parking position. Automatic movement to parking is available at any time during the taxi to parking. Upon arrival at the parking spot, the player can access a game menu to request repairs, refueling, rearming, and request launch. The parking menu can be invoked by pressing [LCtrl+LShift+LAlt+Р] and is only available when in the assigned parking spot.
  22. couldn't agree more, its an amazing fact. On my case, I did flew multiplayer for about a year, even got to install a dedicated server ... but after a while all the flaws of social gaming convinced me that I'm better off playing SP only and I'm much happier now
  23. the manual should be in the "doc" folder of the Module (at /eagle dynamics/dcs/mods/aircraft/m-2000) I'm at home now, this is the precise location:
  24. No, symbolic links do not impose a performance penalty over moving the data itself, but for DCS I do recommend to employ hard links (MKLINK /J) rather than symbolic links.
