  1. the corsair has a lot of systems that employ hydraulic power: the landing gear, flaps, wing fold, cannon arming, and the cowl flaps, all of them can operate for a bit with the engine not yet running, until the accumulator depletes. I haven't flown the p47 recently, so cannot really compare the two
  2. at least the cowl flaps are operated hydraulically, not electric. the hydraulic system includes an accumulator so you have a bit of hydro pressure available at cold start, but will deplete fairly quickly you can employ the manual hydraulic pump at your left, to build up more pressure
  3. I agree .. the developer should warn on the changelogs whenever they alter the keybindings, alerting the users that they may have to re-bind. Aerges and Razbam used to put this kind of warning on their changelogs, ED should have done the same.
  4. I have experienced it, but only on a few occasions, like after a Windows reinstall, or when a DCS developer has introduced new control bindings for their aircraft. I never backup the DCS program folder, for one it currently uses 815 GB and I don't have enough free drive space for such a backup, and on the other I can always download any missing or damaged file from this folder using the "DCS_Updater.exe Repair" command. Yes, its always useful to have a backup of it and it is usually small enough, mine is just 7.1 GB. However, on my case I prefer to have a continuous backup, by placing most DCS config folders on a Cloud Drive using windows hard links: This only works if the updated DCS does not include new bindings on some modules, or if the Windows USB configuration has not changed between the backup and the restore. Besides, it is unnecesary as DCS updates never touches your Saved Games folder. Before updating DCS I only disable all my user mods, for this I employ the OvGME mod manager utility, and re-enable them after the update. Can you show us the contents of your CH47 input folder? I don't have that Module, but for example my F-18 folder looks like this: No, it is still the same. Not necessarily, most likely your bindings still are there, on my capture above you can see that for every device I have several bindings files, this is because DCS will generate a new one when the Windows USB ID of a device has changed. 5. Thank you for the credit

thanks a lot for the detailed information, will try it tonight
  7. I trust the opinion of people with actual flight qualifications, more than those of random users:

    Curves?

With my new contact-less potentiometers I don't need dead zones either, except on my rudder pedals as sometimes I rest my feet pressing the pedals slightly. However, when I still had my older standard potentiometers on my HOTAS I used to have a small deadzone to prevent the flight stick from vibrating slightly when at rest.

Just tried it, but it seems it will only work with all-blue skins nice detail with the exhaust flames when dark Best regards, Eduardo
  10. hopefully all the additional clues that this thread provides should help ED to pinpoint the problem.
  11. Maybe that's why I've never had this issue ... I have the launcher disabled (personal preference) :
  12. here you go: Haven't yet flown it, as I'm busy with the T-45 and the F4U at the moment
  13. Take a look at these videos, I'm sure there are some on landing and take-off: Yes, they are old videos, but the F-86 is a mature Module and has not changed on the last few years.
  14. I got the parameter list using the software DCS-BIOS, specifically its Lua-Console utility
  15. The F-14B has a parameter for horizontal acceleration in G: BASE_SENSOR_HORIZONTAL_ACCEL perhaps you could trigget when that parameter exceeds say 0.5 while it is on a Moving Zone placed over the catapult of the carrier?
  16. Check the values, they are tricky when negative .. I believe it should be from -1 to -0.09 ... not the other way around, as actually -0.09 is greater than -1
  17. Also, the 4 interior UV Lamps do not operate if the Interior Lighting rheostats are not turned up .. shouldn't the spot lights operate independently ?
  18. They can only be placed on the center wing pylons, like this:
  19. Thanks a lot, look forward to having a greater variety of skins
  20. There is already a Wish list item asking for this option:
  21. I tried it, but it doesn't work .. I'm using argument 8. Maybe it's hardwired for Cold Start?
  22. Maybe it depends on the PC Bios, perhaps it makes the network adapters sleep? I'm pretty sure that my PC has gone into suspension while I'm editing missions and have gone to lunch, but have never got that session expired message.
  23. I see this phrase repeated quite often on these forums, first its redundant (as how can you be a customer if you have not paid), and second it has an entitled ring to it ... just "customer" will do.
  24. @Reflected Tutorials have their own thread now:
  25. no Zeros yet, but you can place a bunch of Japanese flak to make your joyride more challenging
