I do have the Natops manual for the KC-130J, hopefully the DCS one will be close enough. If anyone wants a link to it send me a PM.

Don't know, I searched thair Discord but couldn't find it

I'd love to pre-order this bird, but first I'd like to know if it will have its 3d shapes encrypted or not. Would I be able to load its cockpit shape on the Model Viewer 2? I had to pass on the MiG-29 because of this, but maybe this bird is different since its by a third party?

[MOOSE] RAT - Random Air Traffic
Rudel_chw replied to funkyfranky's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
RAT is a component of Moose, are you using the latest version? Whenever there is a new Map you must upgrade Moose, so that it knows about the airbases of that map. This is the correct version: https://github.com/FlightControl-Master/MOOSE/releases/tag/2.9.13 -
Mod Loading Help - Whats the best instructional video?
Rudel_chw replied to Stevecat's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Thanks for the ping, but I wrote that guide almost 8 years ago and so its pics will be different from those of the last OvGME version, here is the link if anyone wants to look at it but probably on YouTube you can find newer Guides: -
That was it! ... thanks a lot for the help, the DCS-BIOS uses the following script in /Hooks/ DCS-BIOS-LuaConsole-hook.lua After reading the post, I added these lines to my autoexec.cfg if not net then net = {} end net.allow_unsafe_api = { -- this defines the secure zones where net.dostring_in() should be called from "userhooks" } net.allow_dostring_in = { -- and this defines the scopes that you want to use from net.dostring_in() "mission" } ... and the issue got solved thanks a lot, I learned something new Best regards

Thanks for the tip, didn't knew about this change .... will investigate, thanks a lot.

Hi all, Unfortunately, this last DCS Update broke the LUA Console of my DCS-BIOS setup. It established communication with DCS, but the console commands are ignored. I'm not knowledgeable enough to fix this myself, so for now I will install as a workaround, a small prior-version DCS Core with just the Marianas map (to save space) and the aircraft I'm currently flying (T-45C User Mod, F4U and M-2000C), and run it only when I need to learn the parameters and indicators of a DCS aircraft. Where is the JF-17 official manual? I can only find a chuck's guide.
Rudel_chw replied to Napillo's topic in JF-17 Thunder
It has an 82 pages Quick Guide in english, so you don't really have a point. What it needs is the more comprehensive Flight manual in english, but the developer has been quite candid in explaining the trouble they have had translating the manual, and I truly appreciate that. Fortunately DCS has so many modules, I usually fly each for an extended period of time, I'm currently on the free T-45C which I'm pretty close to finish ... that's why I was looking forward to my next Module to fly, I'd love to return to the JF-17 but the manual is important to me, so I will leave it on the Hangar for a while longer. Instead I will pick the Mirage 2000 as I want to fly it for a last time while I still can, as I understand that DCS 2.10 will likely drop support for the Mirage -
Probably the thing that pisess me off the most, regarding my country, is the huge difference in standards allowed by the government, for example the minimum salary is around US$ 530 (please keep in mind that many many people do not reach this minimum as they work without contracts or on their own or are unemployed), while the same politicians that set this minimum salary earn US$ 7,400 (plus an expense allowance of around US$ 9,000 ... monthly figures for a Senator) ... and this does not take into account the extra money that politicians earn through influence trading. In my opinion, these inequalities are the true mark of a 3rd world country ..

I hadn't seen your post earlier, but here is my comment anyway: I live in Chile and so I can see first hand that we have not yet attained a first world status, our corrupt government couldn't care less about the living conditions of the majority of its citizens. Just a sample, there are plenty more: ... yet I understand that we need to spend a lot on Defense, or else the corrupt governments of our neighbors could be tempted into conquering our terrtitory.

StopGaps - Script to fill empty player slots with planes
Rudel_chw replied to cfrag's topic in Mission Editor
Sorry to hear this news, but I can totally understand it … over the last 18 months my enjoyment of DCS has also taken a large hit, mostly because of the ED-Razbam conflict, not sure how much longer I will keep flying on DCS. -
One way is uninstalling the unused modules prior to performing the update
-
Thanks for the added binding, I was now able to configure my old TM Cougar (which behaves more like a keyboard than a common joystick): I left a lot of hats and buttons still unused, as I'm still on early learning of this aircraft. I'm sure I will need to add more as I learn the weapons.
-
Why would we, as users, need those? .. I have no interest on managing a software company, I just want to have a proper manual to study the module.
-
but this is ED we are talking about, so we can make any unreasonable demand that strikes our imagination, like asking for a map to be rebuilt as an "update" ie at no extra cost to the customer, or else the map will be tagged as "abandoned" … the fact that it works on the current version of DCS is incidental and it does not prevent it from being called "abandoned" … sometimes the entitlement of some DCS users really leave one without words

Don't know why the original thread was locked: ... but I wanted to add the analysis of Mover and Gonky that came out today: Eduardo

Where is the JF-17 official manual? I can only find a chuck's guide.
Rudel_chw replied to Napillo's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Hello @uboats .. I see that on the last DCS update there is still no sight of an English Flight Manual. While the translation that @CreepyLP did is a great help when studying this aircraft details, I still would prefer a proper human-translated manual, can you please update us on the current situation? did you find a translator? I love this aircraft and was hoping to re-make my old JF-17 training missions, and having proper documentation is a big incentive for me. Best regards, Eduardo -
Well, another DCS update went by and still no Flight Manual for the Mi-24P ... what pisses me the most isnt the low priority that this item seem to have, but the fact that the thread about the manual got closed: DCS is supossed to be a "study-level simulation", but how can I study an aircraft without its manual? ... for me it is an essential item and is the reason why I had to leave this module aside.

New options for landing & bombing AI:
-
Actually that's not entirely accurate: the only Module with encrypted textures so far is the F-5E Remastered, and the much later F4U-1 is not encrypted ... so, I wouldn't call it "a standard", at least not yet. However, I fully support your wish and hopefully ED will pay attention. I purchased the F-5E remaster upgrade completely unaware of this problem, and consequently I have barely flown it and have not made any misions for it, but there is no way for me to pre-purchase the MiG-29 on this circumstances.
-
A description.lua does nothing for me, I want to be able to inspect animation arguments on the MV so I can use the X:COCKPIT triggers to get the cockpit status on my mission's logic ... sadly I couldn't pre-purchase this Module as it stands now

Mover and Gonky analyse this near-hit:
-
Apology accepted, hopefully v1.2 will be released soon and the training missions will be an integral part of the Mod download, currently I’m finishing the last two missions: the Rockets and Bombing ones. I modified them to not need the Target Range objects Mod, in order to simplify the installation of the T-45 Mod. Best regards, Eduardo
