  1. Guess you are confusing me with @-Rudel- ... he is on the Corsair development team, I'm just a common user.
  2. That's not the RSBN channel indicated on the Mig-21 kneeboard: Try channel 18 instead
  3. I'm not CH, but the old Mod Packs are still fully compatible with the newly added CH assets added to the DCS core. The latter are stored on this path: Within the Mission Editor there is no assets conflict, as the older Mod assets have names staring with a [CH] prefix ... while the assets built into DCS have [CH] as a suffix.
  4. yes, thank you ... downloading now
  5. it’s not … but I have this obsession for accuracy, so when one user that has been here a bit over a year, attempts to teach ED how to run their business… I feel this urge to put things into perspective, an urge that I can’t really explain. but as obviously many users feel that my accuracy is miss placed, I will stop following this thread, so you can keep suggesting ED how to do things, bye.
  6. I just cited them because you said: " we have the right …" wasnt defending, just pointed out the incongruency
  7. From the end-user license you agreed to when purchasing modules: 3. LICENCE CONDITIONS ... 3.2 You acknowledge that the Program has not been developed to meet your individual requirements and that it is therefore your responsibility to ensure that the facilities and functions of the Program as described in the Documentation meet your requirements. 3.3 You acknowledge that the Program may not be free of errors or bugs and you agree that the existence of any minor errors shall not constitute a breach of this Licence.
  8. They have been running their business for almost 35 years, can you tell me which other simulation software company has run as long? No, microsoft doesn't count ... their original Flight Sim series ran from 1982 to 2009, and their current FS 2020 series was comissioned to a french software house, with no relation to the prior product, while IL-2 dates from 2001 ... so ED seems pretty sucessful to me.
  9. another thing that I’ve seen a lot on this Forum, are new users that think they know best how to run a software development company… maybe you are the exception and a true genius at running business, but so far I’m not impressed.
  10. Maybe you enabled the Historic Filter on the Mission Editor? ... these assets are not yet compatible with that feature.
  11. It's impossible to provide a full path that will be correct for everyone .. for example your saved games path includes your username, the DCS folder can be named DCS, DCS World, DCS.openbeta, it can be a custom name like my own DCS.296 (from when I had two DCS versions at the same time). I don't think it is too much to ask from our users to know where their home folder is, and where they installed DCS on the first place. I prefer to refer to them as the DCS Program folder (wherever you put it) and the DCS saved Games folder, and leave to the users to locate them on their own PC.
  12. Sorry, I'm all in for supporting the developers, but the subscription marketing model is awful .. the moment your income situation changes (retiring, losing our job for a while, a serious disease) you lose access to your software, media entertainment, cloud storage, etc, etc ... I much rather purchase rather than subscribing.
  13. I’ve seen this wish several times before, but not once have I seen how do they propose to keep the company afloat during that year.
  14. Yes, that's right. I could have started my own thread dedicated to the updated VPC Mod, but felt it would have been a disrespect to the author of this Mod, so I never did that, instead directing people to my post only.
  15. They were together : I can't place that information on the first post of the thread because I'm not the thread's author.
  16. The error is: "ERROR DX11BACKEND (9064): Shader "/shaders/model/fake_omni_lights.fx" failed to compile. Reason: warning X4717: Effects deprecated for D3DCompiler_47" It seems that the fix you have is too old, try mine instead: VPC fix for 2.9.6 (by Shlee).zip
  17. This is the error: "ERROR EDCORE (5132): Can't open file: /shaders/model/fake_omni_lights.fx." Seems you only installed half of the Mod, the VPC Mod has two components: one goes into /Saved Games/ while the other goes on the DCS program folder itself, like this: On my PC those missions do work, just tested one of them: I'm on other projects at the moment, so can't really provide more detailed help on the install of the VPC mod, sorry. Eduardo.
  18. the problem with renaming assets, is that any mission that used those is rendered obsolete. I’d prefer to keep the original name
  19. those c-101 missions are from 6 years ago, so that vpc link points to an pbsolete Mod. try this updated version instead:
  20. That announcement was about the AI units provided for free within the DCS core at the launch of the Corsair ... it said nothing about an assets pack. And adding a US$ 30 pack cost onto the price of the aircraft seems odd to me.
  21. Not me, I purchased the Corsair as soon as I was sure its 3D shapes would not be encrypted:
  22. The Corsair was released just a month ago, I sincerely doubt that ED has such a short development horizon. However, I truly hope that the Corsair has sold well, as that could mean a Mig-21 Remastered on the future.
  23. Did you know that many of those Mods are not fully authored, but use purchased assets that not necessarily allow their use on a payware product like DCS?
  24. Same here, and I supported the developer by buying the Gazelle some years ago so I felt a bit cheated to not have a discount when the OH58 came out
  25. good to know, guess I will have to purchase it then I'm so glad to not be a fan of the MP scene, so I couldn't care less of this so-called "community splits", if they don't want to purchase it is their choice, just don't ask to use them even if they chose to not buy.
