  1. Amazing crosswind landing of an Embraer KC-390
  2. Hello all, I know it may seem like I have abandoned these missions, as I have not added anything new since the end of january, but I can assure I have not ... what has happened is that here on my country we were on summertime and thus I took a couple of weeks off to travel with my family, and also the mission I wanted for the Rb05 has been quite a bit harder to do than I first envisioned, so I decided to put it aside for a bit, to recharge my inspiration. Instead, I decided to do one more training mission for the "flying" aspect of the Viggen, rather than the "combat" one, and the result is that today I added Mission M08, on the employment of the radio. I had to rename all missions of this set, so I'm not able to provide a link to download just M08, you will need to re-download the whole set, really sorry about that but it will make it easier for me to add more missions later on. Please re-download using the link on the Original Post: Now I will return to the Rb05 mission, hopefully it will be easier for me now to edit it now, with a clearer head. Cheers! Eduardo
  3. no, sorry I have not seen a tutorial on this subject, I found about this on the forum. if you open the miz file with a tool like winrar, you will find a file named "mission", it has no extension but it is a text file. open this mission file with notepad++ and search for "theatre" ... it contains the name of the map used by the mission. change the map name from "caucasus" to "falklands" and the next time you open the mission on the ME it will use this map. ofcourse, the location of every unit and trigger zone will be wrong, for this mission every item was on the bottom of the sea, you will have to manually move each one.
  4. Well, what can I say, I tempted myself into checking how long it would take to port a mission to another map, so I did a trial edit, and found that it took a couple hours of work ... not that long, but of course I didn't redo the voiceovers, so they dont quite match the map change, but the mission is still playable, like this: Edit: In case anyone wants to try this mission himself, here is a download link: (needs both the MB339 and the South Atlantic Map) MB339-Cold-and-Dark-Start-Training-Falklands.miz If you place it on the training menu of the MB.339, then paste the attached lessons.lua file, overwriting the stock one. lessons.lua
  5. that dcs error occurs when you place the Mod files on the DCS program folder, instead pf placing them at /saved games/ you just need to place the files on the proper path.
  6. Not military, but aviation related .. I was wowed by the apparent ease this lady had when pushing airliners, with a single hand
  7. Well, today I finally found the Sale price of the MB339 more tempting and so I purchased it for myself before the current sale ends. I'm a bit ashamed of waiting almost 1.5 years to buy, but that is the buyers prerogative ... I'm happy with the purchase and I'm currently enjoying its training missions, I'm tempted to convert them for training on the South Atlantic map, but I'm still finishing my Viggen projects. Cheers.
  8. I'm not crazy for those, but I will purchase the Corsair no matter what, simply because I truly enjoy learning to fly new aircraft ... and also because I like to support all DCS developers, particularly the smaller teams, that's why I purchased the Christen Eagle even if aerobatics is not my forte, it helped them to develop the Corsair. It's the same reason I will also purchase the La-7 once its released, even with no proper map or AI units.
  9. What software are you using to uncompress the file? ... this is a RAR version 5 file, and old versions of WinRar will not handle it properly: I downloaded it with no trouble at all, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to re-distribute it ... so I will abstain from it unless @Massun92 gives me permission.
  10. no, I meant that I wrote those notes when flying that version, so they may not be correct for other versions.
  11. Patricio, Thank you so much for the update, pity that it is not backward-compatible with the prior versions, but I can live with that and I will simply keep the old version handy in case I need to edit one of my older missions: I'm glad you were able to keep the lights, as it is one of the Pack's most valuable items, I use it a lot on my night missions: Wish you all the best and hopefully the new President will be good for your country Greetings, from Chile As @clanitho said, you most likely have a corrupt download, as the human pack contains a lot more than just the image files:
  12. From my notes (back on v5.2): On the Left MFCD (doesn’t work on the right one), click on SMS twice to get the main menu. Click on FLIR. If the FLIR is powered off, it will display “FLIR Not Available”. Turn ON the FLIR using the “FLIR Power” binding. It will take 30 seconds to perform its POST, during which there will be no image shown. Thereafter it will display a calibration diagram for 90 seconds, and after that it will be fully operative. If you want to zoom it's FLIR NFOV and zoom out it's WFOV
  13. The training missions is not a Campaign, you can find them on the TRAINING menu of DCS, like this: However, these training missions were created a long time ago, and the Mirage has been updated quite a bit over this lapse, so it is likely that many of them are not in a usable state at the moment.
  14. It seems fine on my DCS: I fully believe Current Hill when he says that on his system he has every one of his Mods loaded and so he knows for a fact that they don't conflict among themselves. If I have a problem with one of his assets, then I check my system fully before reporting a bug, particularly I test with just his Mod loaded, never have had a problem.
  15. DCS does not need to run as Admin. You need to provide more data, can you attach your dcs.log file? What are the paths of both your DCS program folder and the Saved Games folder?
  16. I have not tested it yet, but have you tried with Textures set to High, on Options -> System?
  17. I use CH mods concurrently with the Massun Pack and have encountered no issues: So, most likely you have a different issue ... if you want you can attach your dcs.log file so we can take a look.
  18. Maybe you have the ME historic filter enabled? its the clock thingy on the status bar, it is compatible only with official planes. +1 ... CH has developed dozens of assets, for me it would be impractical to keep track of which individual assets I'm using on each mission I make, so it makes sense to have them grouped.
  19. The Autopilot is engaged by pressing the AP pushbutton, while holding the AP Disconnect trigger depressed on the Flight Stick (to avoid any unwanted action of any AP previous mode). As soon as the red “P” pushbutton light illuminates, you may release the AP disconnect trigger and then the AP will engage in Basic Mode and the green “A” light will illuminate to confirm AP engagement.
  20. the interview was probably taken 1-2 weeks before it’s published date.
  21. At 90° bank the HUD oscilates between its upright and its downside position, this is somewhat normal and you can avoid it by banking just a little less than 90°. If you pull the stick back while doing a turn, you begin to pull-g and in that case the aircraft begins to lose speed. Fix by increasing throttle or reducing the g-load.
  22. Probably only an ED developer can answer that, I can only assume that if it were easy to do then they would have already done so. The names shown are the default, I don't rename the luas, as for me it is simpler to just open the old lua using notepad++, Ctrl+A to select all, then Ctrl+C. Next close the file and open the new lua, if there is no new lua then you need to enter DCS and bind any command, any will do, as this will create the new DIFF.LUA file. When I have the new LUA open, do Ctrl+A to select all its current content, then Ctrl+V to paste the old content. Now save the file and voila. Note that only "joystick" files need this, the keyboard, Mouse, and TrackIR sections don't need it as they don't use the USB IDs. Actually, I'm a big believer on backups, and for DCS I have opted to place the most important configuration folders on a Cloud drive that supports file versioning. On the next image: All the folders with a small arrow on its corner is actually not there, on /Saved Games/ but instead it is on my Cloud drive. So, whenever I'm for example editing a Mission, I can restore any prior save of it, like this: Anyway, I hope that you now have a broader perspective on how DCS stores all the bindings one makes On my case, I find DCS to have the most flexible and comprehensive command binding abilities of any Sim that I've ever used. Best regards, Eduardo
  23. Hello, Nothing is really impossible, but it would for sure need a serious redesign on how DCS interacts with the Sim peripherals that the users may have. back on those golden and simpler times, the average Sim user had a joystick and that was it .. in fact it probably wasn't even a USB joystick, but one that connected to the joystick port of your PC, which could handle a maximum of two devices using a Y adapter. I may be wrong, but I believe the reason is flexibility: you can connect a staggering amount of Sim peripherals to your DCS, not just the vanilla HOTAS and Rudders, but also Cougar MFDs, a HUD, button boxes, an UFC, etc etc Currently DCS uses the USB ID that Windows assign to each device, to identify and distinguish between them ... probably this is because the peripherals themselves don't have a standardized built-in ID that DCS could use. I must admit that this puzzles me a bit, as it has not happened to me ... I connect my HOTAS and rudder on whatever USB port I have free on my PC, and Windows does not change the USB ID that it has assigned to them. Maybe some sim peripherals are not so well-behaved as my Thrustmaster and Virpil gear. To me, the only times the USB ID's of my gear change, is when I reinstall Windows. For example here you can see the dates when my Windows has changed the USB ID of my Hotas and Rudder: If the ID changed whenever I unplug-replug my gear, I would have a much larger quantity of these files. On the times when the ID has changed, I solve the issue by copying the CONTENTS of the old DIFF.LUA file onto the new one, as I find it easier than renaming the files ... is not such a nuisance since it happens seldom.
  24. I’m always amazed at how so many users can fly DCS only as a reproduction of historic events, and need a historic map and historic AI units in order to fly and enjoy a new aircraft module. On my case, I like DCS mostly to experience and learn to fly a given aircraft, I have no problem with a fictional scenario, say a La-7 flying on the Normandy map on 1944, Ijust imagine a coop program between the allies, where in exchange for some US units sent to the URSS, a squadron of La-7 gets to participate on the D-day. Limiting oneself to only historic re-enactments is … well, limiting
