It was a serious question, why everything has to be funny?

How about more modern RED planes in FC standard?
Rudel_chw replied to Scorpion27's topic in DCS Core Wish List
ED already said that there would be no more FC-level modules released in the future. PS: And "balance" is a gaming concept, while this is a Simulator, not a game -
I refunded the F-15SE after waiting for almost a year for a positive resolution. However, I still own the M-2000, the Mig-19 and the Harrier ... but your qualification above puzzled me a bit: instead of just saying that "they will continue to work", there is that "with DCS 2.9" phrase .... does that mean that when DCS 3.0 is released, my old Razbam modules might not work any longer?

Maybe you are using "france" as country, those personnel are only available for USA. Try using Combined Joint Forces Blue (or Red if the carrier is red)

Gulf Guardian Part I - Released July 1, 2025
Rudel_chw replied to Sedlo's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Thanks, I opted to place it within the DCS program folders, to have it in-between the other Phantom Campaigns ... hope no DCS update messes with it I also changed the cover image, as I liked this one better than the vertically oriented one I'm finishing a training campaign and afterwards I intend to return to the Phantom and fly all its Campaigns .. can't wait. Cheers! Eduardo -
Gulf Guardian Part I - Released July 1, 2025
Rudel_chw replied to Sedlo's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
thank you so much, I just became aware of this Campaign … at hoggit of all places!! it’s been a while since I last flew at the Persian Gulf, thus should be a really nice detour from my usual missions, thanks a lot for sharing it for free .. it’s a truly nice gesture. Cheers! Eduardo -
Additional Training Missions for the Viggen - Nevada Edition
Rudel_chw replied to Rudel_chw's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Hello, Actually, it isn't a newbie question ... the problem of where missions are stored is not well explained on the DCS manual and as a result not many users understand where to place new missions that they edit themselves or download from the Web. Let me attempt to clarify this subject a bit, but let's see a normal Mission first, as they are simpler than Training ones. The Viggen Module includes a few full Missions, they look like this on DCS: On the disk they are stored within the DCS main folder, like this: As the DCS main folder is meant only for official content, your custom missions should be placed on this other folder path: /Saved Games/DCS/Missions/ ... within DCS you find them on the "My Missions" section and look like this: On the disk, the corresponding folder would be: Note that I have created some sub-folders within "Missions", as over time I have collected literally hundreds of missions, so you do need to order them just like you do with any other document of your PC, so my Viggen missions are at /Missions/5 Cold War/AJS-37/ OK, now you see that you could store my training missions within this folder and fly them just like any standard full mission, however I provided this lua file just in case you would prefer to have these missions appear within the TRAINING menu of DCS. The Training missions do not have a "My Mission" section, they look like this: On the disk they are within the DCS program: The lessons.lua file provides the mission description and the order of the listing. If you use my lessons.lua file and store the missions on that same folder, they will "merge" with the stock training, and look like this: If you have both the Nevada Map and the Kola Map, be sure to copy first the Nevada files and afterwards the Kola ones. During the copy Windows will ask permission to replace the lessons.lua file, let it do the replacement. If you ever need to uninstall my training missions, you can simply run a DCS repair process, and let it look for "extra files", that will delete any non official files from the DCS program folder. Best regards, Eduardo- 58 replies

To me, the really funny part is to observe all the criticism when a developer, say ED, releases a new aircrat (Chinook) without finishing their previous ones (Mi-24P and AH-64) ... which I feel is totally deserved, while at the same time on this thread, other users clamor for exactly that: please Aerges, stop working on the Mirage F1 and deliver the F-104 right now ...

Can anyone identify this control stick?
Rudel_chw replied to Goatlord's topic in Military and Aviation
Seems like a Mirage 3 stick -
well, we are free to spend our money on some other module, the important thing is that you do have a choice.

this kind of trouble is best handled with a support ticket: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/

User Files download speed capped at 30Mb/s?
Rudel_chw replied to Raven (Elysian Angel)'s topic in Forum and Site Issues
Seems like a reasonable limit, taking into consideration that the maximum file size is 300 Mb. -
Thanks a lot for the Mod, tough I still need to test it in battle, so can't say much about its workings yet The zero is the one made by @DOL, but it seems that it's for a land based zero, so it can't really be used with your carrier, I placed them there just for the photo

That's a truly nice recognition of Chuck's content, thank you. It would be great if his Guides for the Viggen and Tomcat could receive similar placement on those modules as well

Change default kneeboard position to right side
Rudel_chw replied to Tshark's topic in Bugs and Problems
I don't remember any ED anouncement about that, so far it seems only the DCS Mission Editor is able to remember things like sound and image folder paths and little else. I wish saving user's choices were more widely supported -
Change default kneeboard position to right side
Rudel_chw replied to Tshark's topic in Bugs and Problems
+1 … or even better, have the Kneeboard "remember" its last position/size from one gaming session to the next. -
Come on, let the guy rest a while before asking for more of his time

Rudel_chw replied to -Rudel-'s topic in Magnitude 3 LLC
Thank you so much, I look forward to having these improvement onto the Sim, and my appreciation for not having encrypted 3D shapes . Best regards, Eduardo -
Once you find which drive is which, you can use an adapter like this: https://www.amazon.com/-/es/Carcasa-M-2-Adaptador-externo-compatible/dp/B08G14NBCS/ref=sr_1_5?__mk_es_US=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=2NEX6MSQQTCWT&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.d6x27WSU-J6jtpdkcQpfdDM8W2B-_vZaUOsAsWX0KW4upN7Z8TyZnQ09xFMjs7cp7SC1fyHJ8RCaI_aecDpKH7MmUwk4fAbhPjLN314AVTNhTMPk6FYXJDNW4k9P3mSMJkj8ZIA2mNVJuxpj6bUglsnjBoJjRANobsGqUrUjFMFUewwPkmSMNb00NpUgy72BDQIYfmro3w7NzCaGIBY7Ol9MVY61yavZ3WAS2y7QajE.tpK8D_Loao0iPjLNZTacU2FkFtFJxCex5u3zxqFRGIA&dib_tag=se&keywords=M2+drive+external+enclosure&qid=1751595019&sprefix=m2+drive+external+enclosure%2Caps%2C236&sr=8-5 to connect all three drives at the same time, so that you can copy your dcs onto the new drive with no need to re-download for a reinstall.

That’s an exaggeration, as the map was redone for DCS 2.5 in a move that broke quite a lot of campaigns, but most users at the time were thrilled with the update. I flew on Caucasus for so long that nowadays I prefer to fly in any other Map but Caucasus. Currently I’m enjoying Sinai and Marianas.

Nevada's shadows on mountains
Rudel_chw replied to Ladan's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
I doubt that this is just like an "error" to be fixed, its like wanting new tech on an older product. What ED could do is a remastered version of this Map using the newest map tech, like a Nevada 2.0, with a price that cover the man-hours needed for such a project. But I'm sure that ED has already considered a Nevada 2.0 and estimated just how many of its current customers would purchase it, on my own case I'm not sure if having better shadows, better mesh, and better night lighting would compensate the fact that it would not benefit any of the current campaigns that I own for Nevada, and the fact that my own missions would need to be redone if I wanted them on this new map. Most likely that's why ED has not come up with such a project yet: probably there are not enough people willing to pay the cost, they'd rather invest the $$$ on totally new maps, like Vietnam or Korea or even the Balkans.
