We need the transport planes before the gliders. Although, we definitely need some static gliders for Normandy to drop down the spruce the place up.

Huge FPS drop in 2.0 when Mig-21 are close to each other
Buzzles replied to agentkgb's topic in Performance
You might not need it in Open Beta, it was included in the updates according to the patch notes. However, the filesize of the "new" file isn't the same as the one Rudel supplied, so not sure. Otherwise, it goes into CoreMods/aircraft/Mig-21Bis/Shapes. -

SP on ramp at Batumi with an AI '21 to the left saw 15-20 fps increase both when looking forward and when looking at the AI using the new collision file. Quite a boost. -
I thought that was a great little scene. It's the first time he's getting serious screen time, he's a legend the universe, and Rey (+audience) is expecting to find some revered and noble Jedi Master. Instead she (and the audience) find a sad old man who is doing nothing but surviving and brooding. Luke was also a farmboy too, so it's not out of character either :) On the whole though, after a second viewing, I don't think the film is good. Too much really stupid stuff (flying Leia, slow bombers, Holdo not saying the plan for no reason etc...) weaved in with a bit of a rubbish plot setup and too many shades of Empire. The entire casino planet could have been cut and absolutely nothing would have been lost, all it needed was some quick 5 min hand waving to get Finn and Rose on Snoke's ship. I'm also very surprised in the 10 months of editing since Carrie Fisher passed, they didn't cut the Luke dying scene out to allow Hamill to carry the torch a bit in Ep 9.

New 2.5 Caucasus will be free. As per current 2.x, Nevada and Normandy are paid DLC.

Is that a typo? '_' shouldn't be there.

I have seen that, hence why I also put ">2 engine jets" :) As an aside, their complex jet isn't necessarily their next project. You just hope it is.

Heatblur like to push the sim foward with each module and bring something new to the table. Tornado is just a summation of Viggen and F-14 advancements, so I doubt it would be their choice. A multi-engine prop would be new, or a >2 engine jet, for example.

Latest 1.5 change log: Has anyone tested to see if it has fixed the FPS issues as suspected above? -
@cichlidfan If a new 3rd party dev came along to DCS and said they only wanted to make civvie aircraft, would you be against it?

+1, this would be handy. -
Good news. TBH, that post deserves its own thread and a sticky :)

There's absolutely no reason why civil and military aircraft can't get along. In fact, I can think of some rather fun multiplayer missions based loosly on the COIN stuff going on in South America: Some players being drug runners using small GA planes (ie, Cessna 172's), some AI (or other players) simply being GA traffic, and then a few players in light military aircraft tasked with hunting and stopping the drug runners. Ultimate cat and mouse game in the foothills and valleys :)

Tbh, it might be broken, but I quite like the first one :)

Off the top of my head from what ED have said/shown: New general DM Improved engine events/damage. (They've already added BF109 sound/exhaust effects when incurring damage when running max ata w/o MW50 + Spitfire actually spitting fire when overprimed etc..). IIRC there's plans for visual oil and coolant leaks. More toys: Spitfire is getting bombs soon, BF109 will maybe get cannons etc... P-51D remodel/redesign to an earlier ETO version, rather than the current v.late war PTO we have now Me262 in the pipeline

Hornet Hype thread. Videos, Pictures, Books, Articles. Build that hype.
Buzzles replied to Ocelotunit's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
You know you've spent too long in one map when ED release a graphically upgraded version and you still know which exact valley is being shown and which airfield (hi, Batumi!) is going to be at the end of it. Does look good though. -
ED have something in the pipeline: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3314920&postcount=1114

You probably shouldn't tease the OH-58 unless you're 100% sure it's going to come to DCS. Be good if it does though.

Working mini farp?
-
They've released 1 of 4, in a multi-year development roadmap, and they're still actively working on the one they have released. What's to update?
-
Swwweeeeet. Ta SVTONY

Got a source for that? On topic: Civvie planes were always going to come to DCS eventually anyway. There's only a finite amount of planes that 3rd parties can make.

Yeap, but only because a chap tried to bend the rules: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_v._Pepsico,_Inc.

What point are you trying to make by reposting it again? It is the run off zone, this isn't unexpected. You do realise that the end of a runway falls into the "runway safety area" (link), meaning that it's likely to have had some engineering done at the ends? It doesn't support your assertion that the ground adjacent to taxi ways is also mechanically stabilised on all airfields and fine for any plane to go on. While I too find the differences between airfields annoying (there are a couple in DCS you can go offroad with no effect) and the fact it's a death sentance to go offroad on most, it's such a minor gripe at the moment considering the other issues in DCS and the fact it only happens when the user does something wrong.
