  1. Yes. Plenty of IRL examples of this. Including the infamous passenger ejection :)

    MINING

I wouldn't mine bitcoin without dedicated asic hardware, if you're looking to actually mine anything remotely like a serious amount. Plus, currently the increase per month of difficulty is approx ~15%, meaning you either give it more juice or face reducing mining amount. Other cryptocurrencies, especially those without hard currency caps, might be better long term. Quite a few of the fledgling ones might be worth a bit of mining time as a hedge incase they spike in value a few years down the line.
  3. :shocking: How much did you drink last night? :P As an aside, 8 will be enough. If we can use 10 it'll be a bonus. I just can't wait for some servers to restrict them during 80's missions :D
  4. Where's BlackLion213 when you need him?
  5. Eh? Dedicated server has absolutely no relevence to what the OP has asked. Unless you mean 2.5? Which is just a newer version of the 2.2 client anyway. This is just a command line argument to auto connect to a server via IP.
  6. Airquake isn't the only game mode for PvP you know. There's a lot you can do with scoring systems online, eg Red vs Blue team based missions. Hurricanes go rack up points doing A2G, Spitfires get points doing A2A and protecting the Hurricanes. Red do the same with 109/190 and if we get one, a Stuka. Team with the most points win.
  7. You're not going to get an answer to that from ED. I'd assume for now that they're going to be unable to swap and stick to one platform.
  8. AFAIK, this isn't new. ED and BST have always used ED's PFM framework for their modules, said PFM framework uses CFD. ED's product terms from 2014 say they were using CFD back then: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122801
  9. IBTL. Seriously though, if you think it's overpriced...don't buy it. No-one is forcing you to. You can just wait for the inevitable sale and get it for a price you feel is correct.
  10. That's actually a really cool feature. ED should have shouted about it.
  11. Well, as long as it releases before 31st Jan 23:59 2018 (UTC-12), Wags/ED will have kept their promise of the end of Jan.
  12. I take it those are the "best" figures for STR for each airframe? Why don't you also post a diagram showing STR's for all three where the height and speed is the constant (ie, SL @ M.05, SL @ M0.9, 5k @ M0.8 etc...)? That's likely to be of more use, because if you're up against a decent F-15 driver, they're going to try and keep in their sweet spot for speed and turn.
  13. I dunno, I'd imagine getting shot at with AA when doing a ground strike has the chance of having your tanks unintentionally drained... Either way, engine failure is engine failure, whatever the root cause. They'll be something in the irl manual about it.
  14. The crazing is missing.
  15. Holy wishful thinking batman! Also wrong, as Deka said on Facebook they're having some trouble getting info and cockpit photos, so it blows your theory out of the water.
  16. I'd like to see one of these at some point, as this era of fighters are the ones I find really interesting, although I'll admit my first preferences would be the F-104 and F-105. It's shame the TeamVRC mod team working on their F-100 decided to stop as their videos were showing promise.
  17. 3rd post and it turns into a wishlist thread. This forum at times...
  18. As in, dropping out to the main menu or swapping between missions? Seems odd workflow, because currently if you're in the ME with a mission open and click the green fly button (or from drop down), when you exit you go straight back into the ME at the currently opened mission. I wouldn't expect that to change.
  19. It's interesting there's two security flaws come out of this. Meltdown is the first, affecting only Intel chips, but basically all of them from 1995 onwards. But now we've got Spectre which is affecting lots of cpu's across the board, but is also the hardest to patch, but also split into 3 attack vectors, of which only some affect certain cpus. Interesting times. Wonder if AMD will delay and fix their chip planned for this Q...
  20. Thing is, the OP's suggestion is just a work around for the actual problem of DCS remembering your last edited map and defaulting to it. If it didn't try to be clever by doing that and just asked the user in the first place, we wouldn't be having this discussion. The current behaviour does actually annoy me slightly, because you have to load *a* map regardless (which takes time) to get into the ME to swap maps to the one you want.
  21. I think you're reading that wrong. "Briefly" is in the context of the newsletter's message, not their development plans.
  22. They have said exactly how it'll take place: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3338291&postcount=124
  23. Yes, correct.
  24. OR In the ME you just draw an articulated line or a polygon, set it as a type (eg, sandbags, gabions (HESCO) etc..), maybe the height, and have a bit of procedural generation going on behind the scenes to generate the simple 3d mesh and collider. It's not like it's not done this way in many other games, 3d editors, etc...
  25. Cannot wait to delete the 1.5 and Alpha branch versions from my machine tbh, and just get back to one release version and the open beta.
