To answer the OP: No. Storm in a teacup. About the only thing I see happening is some countries putting a legal stop on using the data for targetting fake news at people to influence elections.

ME-163B by Komet Simulations
Buzzles replied to razo+r's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Deja vu. What happened to the existing thread which already had that info and screens in? -
Post a track file please

It'll depend on the system in the specific airframe, mostly if there's an accumulator or not. For example, P-51D has an accumulator, so yes, you can operate things until the pressure is gone.

In that case then ED need to have a decent look at delta patching, or splitting the big map files into sub files. Smaller dl's would benefit both ED and users.
-
Not sure this would really be worth the effort unless you can source complete historical data too. DCS missions/campaigns tend to be aimed at specific dates. Current weather import would have no use if I'm doing a WWII mission over Normandy in '44/45, or 90's mission in Cauc, or an early 2000's mission in Hormuz (when we get it) etc... If it was a toss up between weather imports or building a better dynamic weather engine, I'd support the latter currently as it benefits everything.

From what a few people have said, the current (new) stuff in 2.5 is just a stop gap and ED are actually making a new cloud system to replace it.
-
What HiJack said + there's always a bunch more stuff that changes that's just not in the patch notes.

OP didn't link it, so in case anyone is wondering: https://apod.nasa.gov/ Which is basically some current and ex chaps at NASA doing a daily post of excellent photos/vids with explanations.

Ryzen2 may well hit 5GHz on 7nm says GF CTO

With the Spectre and Meltdown issues, I think any road plan Intel might have had has taken a knock. -
Are you going to disable PM's as well then? They can have the same problem, even if the majority use them properly.

The new critical angle of attack might be too low!
Buzzles replied to Maverick Su-35S's topic in Flight Dynamics
Well, good business practice is actually having a viable business. Being pragmatic here, but what if they need to finish the CEII first to get some cash so they can then afford to put resource towards fixing up the Mig-21? I want the -21 fixed as much as you, I'm just willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for a bit longer considering the split. -

Guys come on, they're a small team and Rudel said they're crunching on the CEII at the moment during a recent livestream. Save the pitchforks until after the CEII launches when they should have some free time? -
I'd quite like to see some of the Russian WWII prop planes make their way into DCS. Considering our current crop of ~1944 aircraft, out of the Yak aircraft the later Yak-9's and the Yak-3 fit the bill. The Yak-9's have the honour of being the most produced Russian fighter (16,000+) and out of them, the Yak-9U is probably the most obvious choice due to being a late 1944 model. Also bonus factor here is that the Yak-9 served with DPRK in the Korean War. Yak-3 being the definitive version of the Yak-1 train, being lighter and smaller than the -9, is another good choice.

You know, a spamaraam Hornet is going to be great for the people online who fly in multiship formations. Mix of people with lighter loads for dogfighting and others being missile trucks. Couple with the data link.... I can see some interesting tactics being used in tournaments like the Red Flag Rumble.

Grats to Sith for joining ED. Truth be told though, I'm honestly quite surprised as ED must know it's bound to cause some controversy on other sites due to Sith's reputation.

Status of DCS Douglas A-4E Skyhawk?
Buzzles replied to D4n's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
It's a free mod. Not a paid addon. There's a thread in the Mods section for it. The answer you seek shall be found there. -
ED are just commenting on the future of the planet, that's all. Or they're secretly working on a Titan simulator :P

F/A18E/F Super Hornets block 1 and BLock 2 E/F ( lot 26)
Buzzles replied to Kev2go's topic in DCS Core Wish List
The people working on it haven't given any indication if it's just going to be either a private or public mod or if they're giving it to ED for inclusion in the base game, so mentioning it is sort of irrelevant imo. Either way, I'd definitely like to see an E/F/G AI model set in DCS, as we're probably not going to get a flyable one for years. -
Not only that, but in the controls menu in game you can search for commands by typing in text, which I think was ingame in OP's original 2017 post. Also 1) OP's post is the translate view controls, not the actual seat height controls (present only in some jets) 2) In the F-86, so I have to ask if this is before you raise the gear? Because that's a menu setting where the seat is deliberately higher to help with t/o and landing until you pull the gear up.

Would it be lock-on-files by some chance?

Using "throttle for GS and stick for AOA" when landing
Buzzles replied to LJQCN101's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Wags has posted another F18 video, this time doing a VFR landing on a runway. https://www.facebook.com/eagle.dynamics/videos/10160126628265341/ It's a great example for the topic of this thread of managing slope and AOA. -
Er, what you do mean you're not able to fire MG's by themselves? Unless it's just been broken for 2.5*, then I don't recall there ever being the ability to fire the MG and cannon together with one button as an option for the DCS Bf-109 (unlike the Fw-190 where you can), they've always been seperate. Have you looked at the control options under the "stick" category for the 109? The options to fire MGs and cannon are seperate controls. Either way, as a fellow X-55 owner, you can basically just ape the real stick: Just set fire machine guns to the trigger and then use the big round grey button for your thumb for cannon/rockets. *I've not yet flown the 109 in 2.5.

I don't have an SSD. I don't get stutters, I do have 16gb of good RAM though. Go figure.

Batumi. Grieg - In the Hall of the Mountain King. If I time it right, leaving the runway when the crescendo reaches its peak. Either that or Berlin's Take My Breath Away, just for the Top Gun cheese.
