If you fly a night mission, I would suggest you turn on HDR in your options. The flood lighting works like it did in 1.5.

He would be amazed at the new Caucasus map and where DCS is heading. I think of him often and miss flying with him. RIP pal.

This news is great but what year should we expect release? 2020?

You can always remove the bottom and take a look inside to be sure that the connections are intact. I recently had an issue with the buttons located on the right throttle not working. I removed the bottom panel and pressed the connectors to be sure of solid contact and that resolved my issue.

Thanks, but I'm totally confused. I get liveries. But there are files in the Bazar folder for example......TEMP TEXTURES and WORLD. There is a folder within WORLD called SHAPES. I must be overthinking this because it can't be this difficult. This is my Saved Games Folder.

So, all mods, with exception of liveries must be dropped into the "mods" folder in Saved Games? For instance, my squad has a mod pack. The folder structure starts with four folders: Bazar, Mods, Scripts and Sounds. Where do I drop those files? I had created a _MODS folder in Saved Games for JSGME as I had previously done in 1.5. That isn't working. So, I'm familiar with the file structure.

They are going in the correct directory with proper file structure. I have a few different mods, such as liveries and no luck.

Mods that have been installed in my Saved Games folder are not recognized in the game. I've deleted my DCS.openbeta folder in Saved Games and DCS created a new one but that didn't solve the issue. I also did a updater.exe cleanup in the bin folder of Eagle Dynamics as well. No luck. I tried a few different mods thinking that would matter but again no success. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Someone will probably come up with a mod sooner or later. It looks realistic and I prefer it.

Sadly, I'm not seeing the dramatic differences that everyone on this thread is seeing. There are more trees....with perfect edges. The terrain is washed out and still has the bluish tint. With DS, the gamma setting either makes the terrain look good with a overly dark cockpit or the terrain is too light with a perfectly lit cockpit. It could be something that I have set wrong. I do appreciate the work that went into this, but honestly it's not a game changer for me. I haven't flown any helos yet....that could change my mind. I may need to learn RESHADE.

Same issue here.....I can make the terrain look good OR the cockpit....not both. Honestly, I'm a little disappointed. I expected the difference in 2.5 to be a little more dramatic. I appreciate the work that went into this. But my terrain textures don't look much different than 1.5 with exception of the trees. I still have that washed out, bluish/green tint. I may have to learn RESHADE.

Why not have fictional aircraft then as well? I vote NO.

I would rather the development time be spent on a military aircraft. I can, and do fly all the civilian aircraft I want on X-Plane. This won't be a buy for me as much as I want to support the developers.

Try Barthek's 6.5 terrain mod. I don't have a link. IMHO it offers better contrast for the TGP.

The F10 map isn't realistic. No mere chart would show your position like the F10 map does.

I'm using a 40" 4K monitor and typically get 40-50 fps with most of the settings on high.

I have both the stable and Open Beta installed....1.5.7.9411 Everything seems to work fine except with the stable version, when I click on the MISSION link in the opening menu, the screen changes to the loading screen and then fails to respond. This does not happen with my OB. I did a repair on the stable version to no avail. Log file attached. dcs.zip
