Best way to transition from Cruise to Hover?
cromhunt replied to Fakum's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
It's a very simple way that many simmers did forget while playing with a Helicopter simulator: Keep your eyes out off cockpit and check out your position with lateral, horizontal and vertical references, externals. Stop concentrate your attention on instruments, look out.A helicopter in real doesn't control itself with instruments except in case of IFR rules. You have to learn to fly the machine while looking external. After some time keeping the good attitude for each configuration of flight becomes natural.Instruments are only used to confirm that your are in the good way. One only instrument is a must to see:the temperature indicator of turbine outlets.Nothing else. And this kind of indication cannot be found out of cockpit. -

To "Mad Dog" Windows 10 or Windows seven? And whitch kind of video card?and his drivers? On nvidia card 1080 you have a hdmi slot dedicated to VR?when black screen happens, change the slot seems to fix the issue,in any case on my rig: A windows seven with a nvidia 1080 and his last drivers. A black screen doesn't mean necessary a hardware conflict,in most of case it is due to software. With OS whitch is regulating the supply power to redirect and switch sometimes ressources like USB .You might be surprised often. This kind of issue happens on insufficient power supply. And a rig equiped with sli request a lot.

How to Land Properly with strong Crosswind?
cromhunt replied to Terzi's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
Just a little word;A question. Whitch is the crosswind limitation to a SU 27? I want to say full through 90° Even 60° could be equivalent 12 m/s is a huge wind force,is 24 knots/h or 43 kms/h about I'm not sure that cross wind speed is agreedable with this kind of aircraft You know their tires and landing gear have to resist to a multiples forces and therefore the plane comes with a flight manual that tells you the speed beyond which you risk the accident, whether it's the landing speed and acceptable wind speed. I think that a re-reading of the manual SU27, if it is available somewhere, is essential before going any further In general with a big cross wind you have to increase you landing speed to help to maintain the straight line, but if you come too close of the speed limit beyond whitch your tires might be explode and your landing gear be broken, when hit the ground on landing. You might be taken in a crash. Thus limits of flight manual are not only done to tell stories to childs before they go to sleep -

hello:) Please checkout the parametrers shown on the video. And take care about your vertical speed. Pay attention to keep it around 500 Fpm and never exceed 600 fpm. Use your engine to keep it under 500 fpm during descent. Remember a fact that is your approach speed depend of your total weight, and of the power available. Your vertical speed during the approach can, if you increase it too much, increase the wing load, and act as if the weight of the aircraft increased. Choose a speed looking like the speed shown on video. Too high speed and need too many power to use to slowing approach. Not enough speed and need too many power to slowing vertical speed. With a little practice you will see that the nozzles determine the efficiency of your reactor. Even if it seems obvious to say that, many people mix the aerodynamic effects with the effects of propulsion. The speed gives you the lift, and the thrust gives you the speed. With the harrier it's the combination of the two that allows you to fly, first like a normal plane, but also in its vertical flight phase. Even with the low speed you give lift and you need less engine power, but if at the same time you choose a vertical speed too great to go down, you increase the wing load and thus you decrease the lift. For to make up for the error you must either increase the engine speed, or increase the horizontal speed to compensate. .But if you have already used all the power of the engine, the increase in your horizontal speed will depend on the height of the flight. On therefore see that all these parameters must be stabilized in sufficiently average values to make it possible to catch a steering error. Do not be too disappointed by your beginnings and persevere, the practice will do the necessary if you always choose the same flight configuration. I mean always the same flight parameters, that you can choose yourself by staying in the range indicated by the video. The secret is to keep these parameters constant to be aware of errors and corrections to your driving With the Harrier you have to be even sweeter than with a helicopter, and be patient. The brutal and hasty maneuvers do not work. Follow this link to see other videos: http://cromhunt.proboards.com/thread/343/dcs-world-av8b-harrier?page=1&scrollTo=1120 See you and have a good game

That's only what i mean ,even if my english is too bad for some buddies:) By the way players don't care about pseudo scientifics explanations, just seeing while playing With helmet VR on DCS world that the scale of cockpit seems slightly too little. Now at least this post will be usefull to invite devs at doing something to add a feature that will permit to players ,as like in many other games,to adjust the scale as they want. It would be a pity that DCS world cannot realise a feature widely widespread on many other games. Thanks "Jabbers" to your report

Spitfire is not so difficult and is look like the other ww2 modules in flight. So the brakes are too hard and make taxiing weird. The most of players are disappointed using full power on take off above all. So push your throttle upto 8 no more and will see a smooth take off. To illustrate the exaggerated brakes power look at these videos and tell me if it's reliable. http://cromhunt.proboards.com/thread/342/weird-warbirds-landings I wonder if a real aircraft, among this kind of warbirds, is able to land on carrier without hook and cables? Have to remember that it's just a game,a very accuracy game in flight,i do recognize. see you

Check out if another joystick is connected to your rig and erase all bindings from all other joystick but your warthog. Sometimes players forget that DCSWorl affect binds to all joysticks connected and there are conflicts. Check out if your pedals(if you have) are binded to throttle. While saying erase all binds ,i mean you have to do that from the DCSworld options gui. see you

So i did download the last version and it doesn't. You have to download the plug-in from this link http://gimp-dds-plugin.software.informer.com/download/ and add it to you program folder. i did give it a try and it's working now,you may read DDS files format . see you
-
Is the GIMP software able to read DDS files format? see you
-
Simple! Once you know how to use Photoshop In first get photoshop and get plug-ins to read DDS format, which you may download from nvidia site. And now upload the skin in photoshop, you will be able to add what you want. see you

Check out this link you will find specifications and a PDF file http://www.bellhelicopter.com/commercial/bell-huey-ii will see fuel capacity standard 211 galls /799 litrs max range 2 hours and half. So 320 litrs/hour i guess see you next

Impossible to have the Harrier when I launch my DCS
cromhunt replied to Skulleader's topic in Resolved Bugs
AV8B HARRIER module is working now. Didn't see anything weird Maybe a new attempt could be done? see you -
Flyinside for FSX ,Project cars2...check it out buddy. I don't want that discuss becomes a polemic. You seem to be a tester for DCS world but doesn't mean that you are aware of all of VR games. For my own playing with VR on several games since 4 years ago i know such as effect done with IPD.. Nothing at all according to your explanation. I do regret for you :) IPD is intended to improve the accuracy and prevent a blured screen, not the world scale. It work's like a feature to avoid the squint effect. Give it a try to your screen while squinting, you will never see the world scale changing:) Say it friendly PS:IPD = inter pupillary distance
-
Sure you don't want to give more work to the devs"jabbers":) but one day you will be forced to admit that change the world scale is usefull:) Please look at just a little thing that you will find in all aircrafts of DCS world with a 3D pilot. Look at the hands looking like as child hands or women, and surely not as man adult . Nothing to do with IPD or any stuff about VR. The scale chosen to your cockpits is too small;that's all. From a real pilot in retirement. Say it friendly Have nice and merry Christmas and happy new year, see you next:)

Hello:) Just a little wish to the new year coming, something to add to the Mission editor if it's a feature not too hard to be coded:) It's about the zones that we are able to create as circular zones with several different sizes. Well the size adjustable and ability to design every where, is such as a fine stuff. So with the triggers we may choose from ME functions, the altitude and the speed which from the trigger can be activated. And even the heading range from. Did you think it will be difficult to make the zones with ability to choose their thickness (height)as we can choose their area size? And also the altitude from where the zone begin. It could be from 1000 fts to 3000 fts or from AGL to 5000 fts and so and so... With that feature we will be able to define zone with ceiling and floor from where the trigger could be activated. After all in the aeronautic space there are such zones as these ,which pilots have to fly through. This could be make a huge improvement to make mission with interdiction zone, trigger zone, and so and so... Hope it could be feasible, and if doesn't it's just a wish after all. Merry christmass and happy new year to all of you

You are welcome.Retirement gives a lot of time. After all nobody is perfect and all of us need some help sometimes. Good game

Hello:) Could you post a link to your mission i'll download it and give it a try to fix it if i'm able to do:) So without your mission it's difficult to know what kind of is your issue? Did a little mission that you may test, and have check it out if your get same issue please:) https://www.dropbox.com/s/3nkvcfjblfsddus/NORMANDYTESTAV8.miz?dl=0 see you next

Hello:) What about a lobby room? We have already to connect before logging in the game,we have a chat,an interface to choose server that we want to play,a link relating news...etc Why not gather these features on one only place, that could be more immersive designed like a hangar by the way. Something like we had on WW2 fighters. Once connected we could enter this hangar or other place and found out all we need to play at once. Something like a 3d area where we will be able to walk around, not with an avatar but only to move like in fps. Look that there is not any criticism at the actually gui,for my own. It's just an idea.

What is your method for VLanding onto the carrier?
cromhunt replied to StandingCow's topic in AV-8B N/A
Depend of your Joystick/throttle/pedals pack i guess. I do it with a warthog Two methods working Land with speed like a fix wing Or Land vertical like a helo. For my own i do prefer concentrate on speed instead the nozzle angle. Just adapt the power to maintain the correct descent speed i choosen and keep an eye on vertical speed http://cromhunt.proboards.com/thread/343/dcs-world-av8b-harrier Sure that pratices is yours, and be patient -
Check out these videos(the third),and remember to make your plane without any weapons; http://cromhunt.proboards.com/thread/343/dcs-world-av8b-harrier So Try in first to taxi ,you will learn to use the nozzle. Once familiar with taxi stop your plane, take flaps down and check out that are full flaps down. Push the throttle slowly and once you see plane moving, check out your nozzle position to slightly goes forward. Make the water switch position up,will see while increasing the throttle that you get more power. Push the throttle full forward slowly and control your take off with the stick to get it vertical Take care of water effect don't use it too long time. Hope it's usefull. Remember that you have to make all these moves very slowly That's it you are in flight. PS:if you need the video from inside the cockpit,to check out parameters,i will do it and post here.

Unable to land the Spitfire; any tips?
cromhunt replied to Jamesp1's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Landing spitfire: 100% fuel and ammos, weight 7220 Carrier no move no speed:wind 10 kts Carrier at 15 kts running:wind 10 kts Will may to see that wheel's brakes are too strong,i wonder if a real spitfire is able to stop so short. So to "james" the best way to learn something in playing with the kind of module,is to practice first on a difficult way. And after landing on a regular runway will be easy.Remember that some bugs still again and again and maybe for a while. So the game is not so bad, even if time to time weird behaviour happens. more to come
