  1. I have a Reverb with a 2080 Ti, and imho it's simply not fast enough. I despise asynchronous reprojection, but hopefully the 3090 will be able to deliver fast enough fps to remove the need for it.
  2. Well, given the specs, the 3090 *should* deliver at least a 50% performance increase over the 2080 Ti I currently run. Given that my existing card can comfortably deliver 45-50fps with decent graphics settings, the 3090 *should* average over 60fps. Which means no more ghosting (async reproj). If not, I'll just buy two and hope that ED finally gets SLI working :helpsmilie:
  3. Yep, I'm jumping aboard the 3090 bus. Considering the 2080 Ti can't deliver high enough performance to get the solid 60fps needed to require the disabling of asynchronous reprojection in my Reverb (running at 60Hz mode), it looks like the 3090 should... provided the CPU doesn't become the bottleneck. However, I don't know if the 3080 will be fast enough to run consistently at 60fps on the Reverb. I have a feeling it won't, but I'll be happy to be proved wrong. But for me, I'm gonna have to reach deep into my pockets for the AU$2500 price of the 3090 to ensure ghosting and stuttering is gone for good. Now, when will I be able to order the Reverb G2 in Australia...
  4. Yeah, any update? My bombcat looks weird with these floating bombs magically hanging underneath.
  5. OK, great news - it's all working! I think it *may* have been a router reboot that fixed up the IP mapping for my devices.
  6. I think my Windows voice recog must have gotten broken somehow - did a full reinstall of Windows, installed Bailey's F-14 profile, and it's working beautifully!
  7. I'm practicing formation flying with my squadron, and the draw distance of shadows on the other aircraft is, well, horrible. When I'm about 30 feet away, the shadows on lead's aircraft are constantly swapping between the sharp and soft ones, drawing back and forth over his aircraft as I drift in and out of formation. It's a huge immersion breaker - is there a way to fix this with a LUA tweak or similar? Kinda like the ability to increase the shadow resolution in the cockpit? Note, I have all gfx options maxed, 4K resolution, except the relatively new screenspace reflections option.
  8. Yep, what he said - from my testing the F-14 is the most demanding model in DCS. Which is a good thing in some ways, as it's such a beauty. God damn DCS needs a basic benchmarking feature. It'd take ED all of a week to build, and then we'd have a better way to actually measure performance.

  10. I think the DCS AoA indexer app may be broken - I've updated script, checked all IPs, opened the ports on my router, disabled the BitDefender firewall and network security entirely, and it's not working at all. Peeter, can you please check that you can get it to work on the Tomcat when using three other screens running DCS UFC?

  12. Thanks mate, will try this now - once I've got everything working 100% I will do a video tutorial in English. I'll send it through to you to check first before it goes live. This is a damn fine piece of software, and the easier it is to set up, the more people will use it!
  13. Just for clarity, can you please list out exactly which ports need to be open, which protocol, and which direction? Last time you mentioned this you said: "25070 UDP, for incoming connections to the PC" It'd be great to get the entire list, and clear instructions, so I can nail the issue. The IP is static, as confirmed by both the WLAN settings on the phone, and my router's connected device list.
  14. Doh, now my DCS AoA indexer app has stopped working. Do I need to open a specific port/protocol/direction to get this working? I've disabled the BitDefender firewall entirely, but the Windows firewall is still up.
  15. That makes two of us!
  16. Um, hate to say it but that guy doesn't really talk about the issues with VR. I own a Reverb, and never use it due to the extremely poor image quality. And if I want half decent detail, the frame rate is terrible. I'm hoping the 3090 will deliver 60fps so I can run the Reverb at 60Hz and get rid of motion reprojection, otherwise I wasted AU$1200 based on the recommendation of people in this forum.
  17. Whew, that was a loooong and detailed post, thanks! Ummm, so I can buy the ButtKicker 2 and it'll work with the SimShaker Aviator Sound module software? Note that for audio I only use headphones on my PC, driven by an external headphone amp. I do have an onboard Realtek audio codec if required though...
  18. Can you please tell me if my export.lua contents are correct - I just pasted this into it: -- TacView local Tacviewlfs=require('lfs');dofile(Tacviewlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/TacviewGameExport.lua') I haven't tried it yet, but before I did so, there was no mention of tacview in my export.lua. And my replays were only 1KB in size, and wouldn't playback. Anyways, here's what my export.lau looks like now (note that I also use DCS UFC, SRS and SimShaker for aviators). I really, really wish app devs who's software alters the export.lua file would co-ordinate your efforts so users didn't have to manually edit our files... local lfs=require('lfs'); dofile(lfs.writedir()..[[scripts\pw-dev_script\Export.lua]]) local SimShakerlfs=require('lfs'); dofile(SimShakerlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/SimShaker.lua') dofile(lfs.writedir()..[[scripts\SimShaker-export-core\ExportCore.lua]]) pcall(function() local dcsSr=require('lfs');dofile(dcsSr.writedir()..[[Mods\Services\DCS-SRS\Scripts\DCS-SimpleRadioStandalone.lua]]); end, nil); -- TacView local Tacviewlfs=require('lfs');dofile(Tacviewlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/TacviewGameExport.lua')
  19. Update - I opened port 25070 on my firewall and everything is now working perfectly! 3 x tablets and 1 x phone! I'll do a tutorial video this week showing how I got it all working.
  20. Glad you got it working - it's a fine app when it's all going. I think the video tute could use a redo, with an English voice over if possible. Unfortunately the dev isn't a native English speaker, which will make this tricky. Once I get all of my screens working, I'll see if I can whip one up, but first I need to figure out why my F-14 warning screen stops working after several minutes, yet all other screens are ok.
  21. I've had this issue. Every time it was an IP config error on my end. Have you set static IPs for all of your devices, including your PC?
  22. I've disabled BitDefender entirely, and let 5160 through my firewall - warning panel still no-go. If it was a blocking issue, wouldn't it affect all 4 displays, and not just 1? Will try out your test scrip soon.
  23. Loving my Jetseat, to the point that I'm thinking of adding the buttkicker. Couple of questions. 1.) Is it worth it? 2.) Is the sound module that works with Simshaker for Aviators the same as the Buttkicker Gamer2? I can get the BK G2 much quicker domestically in Australia, rather than buy the rebranded version from Russia. Thanks!
  24. Brilliant, thanks guys. HC_Offic, can I ask which of your many, many thorough tutorials shows how to: " map the VPC throttle “switch down position” to a button in VPC software, then you can assign/bind the new button in DCS control config." ?
  25. ok, turns out the issue was the version of the script I downloaded - I grabbed the one on the front of the page here: https://github.com/pet333r/pw-dev_script Not the script file here: https://github.com/pet333r/pw-dev_script/releases As soon as I deleted the first, and replaced with the zip from the second link, it was all working fairly well. However, about 5 minutes into the flight the warning display stopped working? My in-cockpit warning lights were all working, but the DCS UFC version was not. Strange, as all four displays were working at the start - 3 x DCS UFC on tablets, 1 x DCS AoA on a smartphone.
