I'll definitely donate to you, but not quite the cost of a 4K display! Another silly question - how do i bring up the ATC menu? Saying ATC doesn't do anything? I'm trying to bring up the SC ATC for Case 1 recoveries.

Oh, quick bit of feedback - click attack needs a 3840 x 2160 option for us 4K dudes. Unless it has one and I missed it?

[RESOLVED] AoA indexer not readable
GunSlingerAUS replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in Bugs and Problems
Any update on this? Still borked on my end as of latest hotfix. -
User what you mean, makes total sense. Thanks again for this awesome profile.

Thanks for the detailed reply mate. You mentioned that I should be careful binding Tomcat ball to F1. Why is that? Can't I just bind it to a key that isn't used anywhere else, or are radio comms limited to function keys?

Now I feel like a tool - I couldn't see the readme first time around, went to look after your post, and BAM, there's the PDF! Thanks mate, even before reading this I was having a ball fooling around with it. Tanking is so much easier! Can I ask if Tomcat Ball has been included, or any other supercarrier specific commands?

Once and forever, let me explan what OPEN BETA is meant for.
GunSlingerAUS replied to LordOrion's topic in Chit-Chat
That is a rather strange argument. Just because I can say a certain hamburger company makes terrible sandwiches doesn't mean I should go and launch another chain. No, I'll voice my opinion then wait for those with the means to step in to fill the void. -
[Open discussion] Should we all move to the stable?
GunSlingerAUS replied to astazou's topic in DCS 2.9
I'm envious of your optimism if you think MAC is more than a monthly brainstorming session, or what Google calls a Blue Sky meeting. As for funding, Mr Grey has said several times that EA is what keeps DCS profitable (which is a woeful place to be in when it comes to software development). And if EA continues to equal OB, we can't expect that version to stop getting 100% of the promotion, and thus be the version that players think is the norm. Adhering to the old definition of a game beta as you do totally ignores what has happened in the world of gaming software over the last five years. DCS is far from being the only title that lives under the perpetual beta banner; the issue is that it's one of the buggiest. -
[Open discussion] Should we all move to the stable?
GunSlingerAUS replied to astazou's topic in DCS 2.9
Serious question - does ED promote content sales of modules that are only available in OB? Is the P47 and Channel Map only currently in OB? If so, then ED needs to stop heavily promoting content that is only available in the beta. Then, and only then, would stable become the go-to version. But I'm assuming they can't financially afford to do that. -
Have you tried ensuring the line that you need to add in export.lua for DCS UFC is at the very top of the file?

hey folks, after wasting a bit of money on VAICOM Pro and its associated packs, which I couldn't get to work, I'm now going to give this a shot. Can I ask if there's a setup guide anywhere? I've never used VoiceAttack before, other than my failed attempt at VAICOM, so any guides would be appreciated.

I'd love a PDF of the manual that I could read whilst offline. Any chance one will be made available that is more recent than the March 2019 one? Also, I've found what could be a small issue with the online version. The links to the pilot's cockpit images seem to click straight through to the RIO's panels.
-
I've noticed in the latest patch two issues with the AoA indexer: 1.) It's so dim that it's impossible to read. I think this might be related to the overall screwiness of internal lights? 2.) After turning on the cockpit floodlight, the three AoA light panels turn totally white, depending on which ones are active. They're totally unreadable when this happens too.

Didn't notice a change here, and I'm sure the fourteen billion wannabe aeronautical engineers here would have said something if this did occur. I'd check your controls and options.

I spent AU$4500 on mine 6 months ago, and found performance terrible on my Reverb. A 55" LG C9 is a much better option, but having said that, some people are ok with the relatively poor performance and lower detail visuals due to the sense of immersion.

Any update on this? I've purchased a Stream Deck XL purely for the other app, and two tablets for yours. Hahaha. Oh well, I think DCS UFC is my preferred solution, so will use yours instead. Would be nice to have both though!

VR headset vs Track IR - Which do you prefer?
GunSlingerAUS replied to razorseal's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have the fastest PC available ATM, so thought I'd have good performance with the Reverb. I did not. It was terrible, so I instead now use a huge 55" OLED display (the C9, which is basically a giant gaming monitor ) with TrqckIR. For me, this is monumentally more immersive. -
Yet... prepare for some competition :P
-
Be warned, if you go Reverb, you will have to live with reprojection on, all the time. My 2080 Ti did so, and I hated it.
-
I'll be happy when I can play DCS VR at 60fps minimum in my Reverb without having to turn the visuals down to Commodore 64 levels.
-
Two things: he claims 360 degree rotational movement per second... yeah right! Also, if you watch closely, the unit hardly ever matches his inputs. Looks like a total scam.

nosaMtrevoC, Heya, if it means getting a slick streamdeck profile for the Tomcat, I'm happy to gift you a copy of the module? Just PM me. Warning, once you go 'Cat, you can't go back!

iPad or Surface Pro as a switchbox?
GunSlingerAUS replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Good news guys, check out DCS UFC on the app store. Awesome solution! -
If I could maintain playable framerates in the Vario headset, I would honestly consider purchasing one. Some guys spend $40k on a 4WD for weekend fun. I'd rather spend $20k on a high-end rig, Vario headset and a greenscreen room with cockpit. Unfortunately DCS performs extremely poorly by VR standards, to the point where we have to rely on a technology all the time, reprojection, which is meant to only be used extremely rarely, when the system can't maintain the proper framerate. I'm sure the Vario's resolution isn't quite as incredible as they make out, either. Still, in ten years time this could be a reality, but until then I'm still blown away by what we have on offer today.
