  1. That is unfortunately incorrect. SLI never shares VRAM across both cards, even if it's working correctly. And as you mentioned, SLI doesn't work in DCS VR at all.
  2. I spent AU$1200 on a Reverb Pro for DCS, and for me it wasn't worth it. I found the performance issues and bugs to be too much, especially as I'm one of those gamers used to a high refresh rate display, and thus found the reprojection artefacts caused by the game being limited to 45fps unbearable. Your mileage may vary, but it's a very expensive bet to make. Personally I much prefer my new LG C9 55" display, which didn't cost significantly more, and is also usable across all of my PC games.
  3. Nope, for Steam users it's called "Verify Integrity of Game Files". You can find it under game properties, local files.
  4. You sir, are an absolute freaking legend. Thank you very much, I'll do this over the weekend. Seriously, chaps like you are one big element that make simming so enjoyable.
  5. I've got news for you, and it's all bad... depending on your expectations. I have been flying the DCS series and its predecessors for nearly 15 years. Compared to other games, the performance has ALWAYS been terrible, and it has ALWAYS been packed full of bugs. However. I realised recently that this is to be expected given the complexity of the series. It's not your average game, being exponentially more complex. As such, I've tailored my expectations to enjoy the amazing thing this game does offer, which can't be found elsewhere. If you're going to love DCS, you'll have to learn to love it as is. After 15 years, I can safely assume things ain't going change.
  6. Phew, got it to work without going through the song and dance of VAICOM installation - did this first: Go delete the export.lua in your \saved games\dcs folder\scripts Then ran a repair, it fixed 3 files, and now it's all good. I'll revisit VAICOM once the issues with 2.5.6 are ironed out, or installation gets much simpler. Shame, as it looks like an awesome piece of software, and I've bought all 3 packs for it.
  7. Thanks! One more (hopefully last) question for you - is there a process to get DCS running again that doesn't involve reinstalling VAICOM and its add-ons? To be honest, installing VAICOM Pro is beyond me after trying to get it working unsuccessfully several times in the past, and it's even more convoluted now with the changes brought by 2.5.6.
  8. Hi Max Do I need to run a Steam repair of DCS, as well as use Skatezilla's tool? Or will a Steam file integrity check suffice?
  9. Hey mate, I'm using the Steam install. I've already uninstalled VA and VAICOM Pro, so can't tick the OB box or set the profile.
  10. I'm the latest victim of VAICOM Pro plus 2.5.6. I'm stuck at 10% loading in DCS after installing VA, VAICOM Pro, AIRIO Pro and Chatter pack. Have done the following in this order, all to no avail: 1.) Uninstall Voice Attack 2.) Delete full Voice Attack folder, which included the VAICOM files 3.) Steam "Verify Integrity of game files" - all ok 4.) Deleted Voice Attack folder from C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\ Please help! I really, really do not want to have to reinstall DCS, as I have every module and map installed, and a bunch of keybinds and mods that I don't want to reconfigure.
  11. Hey Antoine I've finally got around to doing this - so I need to install vjoy and Joystick Gremlin? Would you mind explaining in a little more detail about what to do after they're installed? Btw, this won't hose my existing joystick binds, will it? I can't bear the thought of having to do that all over again...
  12. Yep, that's the curve I was going to map, but your guide appears to be a better solution. Will it give a go, thank you very much.
  13. So Jester is a life saver when it comes to the assisted start, but when using TrackIR to control him, it's super easy to ask him to accidentally cancel it when you're actually trying to say Check. Any chance you could move the Cancel wedge of his control wheel to something a little further away? And yes, I'm being lazy, will set up Voice Attack soon!
  14. Hmm, like all the posts I've seen online about this, some dating back several years, there's no sign of a solution. I'll keep on waiting a week before splashing out on the Streambox XL.
  15. I just discovered the Streambox XL that some folks are using as a switch box in DCS, and was about to pull the trigger when I realised that I have a brand new iPad mini and Surface Pro 2 tablet w/touchscreen that might be able to do an even better job. I've done a few searches on this in the past without finding anything that is relatively easy to setup - do you folks know how to do this? I'd even be happy to pay for someone with more Helios experience, or whatever it takes, to set up my Surface Pro as a Tomcat panel. I see there's already an amazing Helios export for the Cat, but from my pathetically inferior knowledge, it seems this only works with a second screen connected to my PC, and not via an external device running on the same network?
  16. Would be amazing to be able to spawn as a pilot and do a walk-around of your aircraft before entering the cockpit. It'd truly give you a sense of the size of each bird, something being stuck in the cockpit doesn't allow. Given that we can already walk around, I don't think this would be a difficult task to implement?
  17. Bump?
  18. Is there a way to run this on my Surface Pro laptop? I'd love to have my main switches configured for the Cat on the Surface Pro's touchscreen, and then be able to simply touch the screen to move switches and dials - guessing this isn't possible?
  19. It's not just VR that is seeing a huge hit in FPS. I haven't tried the latest patch that came out today, but prior to this I set up a very basic mission to train in - Nevada map, single F-14 hot on runway. Everything runs beautifully smooth (50-60fps, latter of which is limit of my display) at 4K resolution with everything maxed except mirrors, scenery, and that new reflections thingy. However, as soon as I add a flight of four F-15s with two waypoints, and an E3 with 10 waypoints, I get an extremely noticeable stutter every 20 seconds or so. I haven't changed a single other thing in the mission, and there are no other units on the map. If I delete the F-15s and E3, it's back to perfect performance. So yeah, it's not just VR that has seen poor performance involving AI units. Obviously there's a bug somewhere in there.
  20. Hmmm, I also had issues binding something as simple as a letter key - not all of them, but from memory R wouldn't bind at all in the software. Note that I'm using it as a simple key-press mapper. Any ideas why I had that issue?
  21. Thank you good sir, will give this a go over the weekend, as well as the shaved detent mod for F-14's AB. Finally, I'll be getting the most out of my Tomcat!
  22. Sadly there is no fix mate, I had the exact same issues as you but with the Reverb. While many DCS pilots are happy with the ghosting and ground stutter, I most definitely wasn't. Don't waste days chasing a fix for this like I did, as there simply isn't one; you'll probably get people saying that it's fine with motion smoothing, but they're the ones who don't really notice ghosting. Until we've got the horsepower to run VR, or the DCS engine is better optimised for it (both being at least 12 to 24 months away), I've instead purchased a 55-inch C9 OLED display, as it gives me a huge screen but with 4K resolution at 60fps.
  23. Hey folks, I've owned the TM Warthog for many years, but have never been able to figure out how to map the Slew/Mouse hat to button presses. I'm primarily flying the F-14, and would like to be able to map it for the ACM Radar modes and CAGE. Any idea how to do this without using the TARGET software? I could use this if necessary, but am concerned it will stuff up my existing in-game bindings. Is there any other software that is easy to use for this purpose?
  24. Quick question - I've noticed that the basic DCSFP app (without DCS BIOS installed), doesn't recognise many keys on my English (Australia) - US keyboard setup. Is there something I need to change to make this work?
  25. I've set up a very basic mission to train in - Nevada map, single F-14 hot on runway.
