Killed my F-14 Rudder Axis Mapping
GunSlingerAUS replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hey guys, not sure how I fixed it, but I think I just had to delete it and set the axis back to default for my Crosswind. However, the rudder label in my axis options is still a light red colour, which suggests a problem. -

Sorry for so many questions, but I'm not sure what you mean by this? I've never used Stream Deck before. -

Cool, that should be easy enough. Is there anything trickier than assigning a hotkey in Stream deck that I need to know how to do? And can I just say THANK YOU SO MUCH for creating all those beautiful icons and folders. It's an amazing piece of work. I'd love to gift you a module as a way of thanks - please send me a private message and we can sort it out. Again, thank you, you've made my purchase of the Stream Deck XL absolutely worth it. -

Hmmm, I've just noticed that the buttons that aren't doing anything don't have a hotkey assigned to them in Stream Deck's software. Do I need to go in and manually bind all of the F-14 controls that haven't been bound? -
Hi guys I installed the latest version of this plugin, but didn't realise it doesn't yet support the only aircraft I fly, the F-14 Tomcat. So I then found the incredible F-14 Stream Deck profile created by Togg, and installed that. However, it's not working properly now - is it possible that this plug in is interfering with Togg's? How do I completely remove ctytler's profile to ensure there's no conflict? Do I need to remove the line from the export.lua file that I added when installing ctytler's plug in?

Oh, I should add that before I found your amazing work, I installed the recent Stream Deck plug in found here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=269642 I'm not sure if that could be causing problems? -

Hey Togg, WOW! I've imported the profile, and my jaw actually dropped when I saw how many commands you'd set up, and how beautifully you'd done it! I'm considering buying another Stream Deck XL so I can have one on each side of my keyboard. Unfortunately most of the buttons don't do anything - I get an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle when I use them. A couple do, such as the pilot/rio and hook button, but they're the only ones I could see working. Here's how I installed the lua files, based on what I thought the instructions were. 1.) I opened up the Keyboard.diff.lua file located at C:\Users\benne\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\F-14B\keyboard 2.) I headed to the URL https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f14/Keyboard.diff.lua and copied all the code from that page into the Keyboard.diff.lua from step one, while also deleting the existing code in my original .lua file. I couldn't figure out how to simply download your .lua file, as going to the requested URL just opened it for me (I've never used github before). Hence why I did the manual copy and paste. 3.) I copied the Keyboard.diff.lua from my F-14 directory into a new folder I created at C:\Users\benne\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\F-14B\keyboard\rio, and then overwrote its contents with the code found at https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f14/rio/Keyboard.diff.lua 4.) I saved both files, restarted Stream Deck, and went into the game. Sadly most of these beautiful buttons don't do a thing. Where have I gone wrong? -

Hi Togg Thank you for creating such beautiful icons. I've found your Github repository, and have now figured out how to download all your icons. I've also discovered the instructions for how to install the necessary keybinds, but I'm not familiar with LUA files. Can you please clarify the following? You have to copy the Keyboard.diff.lua file for each plane in in C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\PLANE\keyboard List of files: https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/a10c/Keyboard.diff.lua https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f14/Keyboard.diff.lua https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f14/rio/Keyboard.diff.lua https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f18/Keyboard.diff.lua Enjoy ! So, do I go to these URLS: https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/a10c/Keyboard.diff.lua https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f14/Keyboard.diff.lua https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f14/rio/Keyboard.diff.lua https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f18/Keyboard.diff.lua And then open up each LUA file there, and copy the code inside the file into the keyboard.diff.lua file that is already in my C:\Users\XXX\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\PlaneNameHere\keyboard folder? And if so, do I overwrite the existing code in my existing keyboard.diff.lua file? Oooh, I'm so close to getting this to work! -
I recently fumbled my way through installing the DCS Flight Panels + DCS Bios apps to get my Saitek Flight Control panel. I say fumbled, as I found the instructions difficult to follow, but eventually kind of got it working. HOWEVER... I now can't bind my brand new Crosswind rudder pedals to the F-14 Tomcat. They were working perfectly before I installed the DCSFP+DCSBIOS, but now when I go to bind the F-14 Rudder Axis, the entire row is highlighted in light red, as you can see in the attached screenshot Rudder1. This red coloring is new, and happened somehow along the way when installing DCSFP and DCSBios. When I go to map the rudder axis, the pedals are detected as JOY_RZ, and show up fine in the axis tuning screen, as per screenshot Rudder2. However, from the main axis screen, I do not get the small white bar at the bottom of the JOY_RZ box that would normally indicate when I move my rudder, and that it is detected. So I can map the rudder, I can tweak the rudder axis, but it doesn't actually get recognised. I therefore get no rudder input in flight. Note that this problem is only occurring with the F-14, as the rudder axis works perfectly for all other aircraft. I've since deleted DCSBIOS and DCSFP, and done a full file integrity check of DCS via Steam, all to no avail. I'm at a loss - I really don't want to have to install DCS all over again, as it's taken me ages to set up all the bindings and modules to my liking. Please halp!:(

Decksliding / Sync issues / Rubberbanding fixed for release?
GunSlingerAUS replied to viper2097's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Just saw the Supercarrier quick mission video posted on YouTube. Any chance we can get something similar for the Tomcat, starting off with a parked jet? -
There's an option in VAICOM that disables the on-screen text when using Jester. Google is your friend.

DCSFlightpanels (DCSFP) thread. Saitek Pro Flight Panels & DCS
GunSlingerAUS replied to a topic in DCS Modding
I’ve got a couple of weird issues since installing: 1. My new Crosswind pedals stopped working - while they’re recognised and the rudder axis is working in the tune axis option, the axis movement bar in the controls doesn’t move. If I delete the entire Crosswind bar in the axis options, and then configure again, they work. But I have to remap them every time I start dcs. Any ideas? 2. When mapping keystrokes in dcs flight panels, I sometimes get an error about an object not being found. But if I persevere and keep mapping, the error stops occurring. -

It'd be awesome if you could link to the DCS Bios installer in your first post, as I followed your download link and ended up grabbing DCS BIOS Master, which didn't work. Only after digging through the DCS BIOS page did I find another link explaining how to install it, and where to grab the installer. For noobies like me who have never used github, it's a confusing interface. -
Just to clarify a couple of earlier posts: VR users are a tiny fraction of all DCS players, not the majority. Hence why the same small group of people are such frequent posters in this section. On my 2080 Ti, 5GHz 9700K, the reverb ran like utter crap (unlike 30 or so other VR games). Apparently DCS VR is better for lower res HMDs, and some people are ok with the Reverb average fps of 45, but for me moving my to an ultra-big 55 inch OLED display was far better. Having said that, I LOVED flying in VR if it was just me, no enemy units, and over a simple area of terrain. It's revolutionary. So I'll be back when I can maintain that performance in a simple Tomcat mission, say 2023.

TM Warthog Throttle - easiest way to map Slew to Button?
GunSlingerAUS replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in Thrustmaster
Hi mate, I'll send you direct messages about this so we don't clutter the forum - I'll combine both the AB detent guide and the Slew guide into one, for brevity's sake. Thanks so much for your help, I'm really getting the most out of my gear now. -
I'm also keen to find out how this works, as I saw a video of it being used to export the Tomcat's buttons. Any guides around?

Hey folks, has anybody got a Gremlin throttle axis curve for the F-14? I'm specifically after the AB detent. -

You sire, are a godsend. I've now got it all working beautifully, and for the first time in 10+ years will be using the Warthog's slew control, but now as buttons. I'll post a step by step guide up for other users, unless you know of one that exists? Would you mind if I remade the video, but from the very beginning? -
TM Warthog Throttle - easiest way to map Slew to Button?
GunSlingerAUS replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in Thrustmaster
Yep, a reboot did the trick! Ok, so I've now got the slew hat set up as vJoy buttons, couple of remainder questions! (I'll put all of my learning into a new thread so folks can go from start to finish and finally use their slew hat - unless you'd rather do it, as you were the one who showed me how?) 1.) I sometimes accidentally go diagonal on the slew hat, which activates two of the vJoy buttons - any way to add some kind of deadzone? 2.) Now that I have vJoy slew buttons, do I simply go into DCS and map these as usual, while removing any existing binds to the axis slew? 3.) Do i need to start Joystick Gremlin every time I play DCS? And do I then need to load the profile that was created? Thanks again mate, I'm sure this will be massively helpful to many less-experienced players like me! -
I would kill for an F-14 panel that incorporates the most commonly used switches. Brilliant work though mate, thank you for your effort.

GunSlingerAUS replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in Thrustmaster
Hi Antoine, I installed Joystick Gremlin, but it then said vJoy wasn't present. So I then downloaded the latest version of vJoy from the official site, ensuring it was the correct version for my OS. Unfortunately it would not install - it simply hangs when I hit install, showing the progress bar. I have to use task manager to exit it. Sigh, why does everything involved with simulators have to be so difficult! Thanks for your help though.
