My current one, including sourcing my own buttons, cost $1525...so, yes [emoji2373] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You will need one HTC Vive Lighthouse for tracking, without it you will only have 3DOF. You'll only need one, people with two generally do so for full room tracking, etc.

Pimax 5k plus order now and have it in 3 weeks or less!
Buckeye replied to A Hamburgler's topic in Virtual Reality
Would you mind posting your settings? Just got mine a few days ago, similar hardware and I’m not seeing as solid of performance. Would like to give your settings a look and see where I might be able to better adjust. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
What rudder pedals do you use?
Buckeye replied to jeffham222's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I have the best ones, aka Slaw RX Vipers https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/09/thrustmaster-tpr-is-the-king-of-mass-market-flight-sim-pedals/ -
fpsVR app from Steam. I think its $3-4, but it's amazingly useful. It will also show you which piece of your hardware is causing your bottleneck (CPU or GPU)

Pimax 5k plus order now and have it in 3 weeks or less!

I preordered on day one (Oct 27 2018) and my 5K+ arrives today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
The space for pedals? You don’t have a floor that your feet rest on when sitting in your computer chair? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Correct. Which means people should buy rudder pedals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pimax 5K+ setup. Day 1 preorder here as well, still not a peep from Pimax. Their fulfillment process is an absolute train wreck. Backers and immediate preorders still waiting while guys ordering a month or two ago are receiving units. Wouldn’t give his through the lens video any mind at all, terribly done comparison with no referencing and he has a history of comparing HMD with different PD’s being ran (and not clearly stating it). Look for SweVivers old video, he did it the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nope, not a peep from TM about it. Really disappointing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done that real pilots can't or don't Do?
Buckeye replied to FlankerMan's topic in Chit-Chat
Died and respawned. Killed a multitude of friendly AI units without a care in the world. -
You've got a while, only a few pre-orders have been received...and those orders were placed on October 27th. Some of the Backers are still waiting on their units as well. So, long story short: you've got a long, long wait ahead of you. Your PXXXX number in the order confirmation email will let you know what number you are in line. I am P15XX and I don't expect to have mine for a month or so.

Turn "Game Mode" to OFF in Windows settings. Also, AF doesn't impact FPS at all really, so you can leave it at 16x without any worrying. Nvidia control panel: Turn to "Prefer Maximum Performance" and VR Pre-Rendered Frames to 3.

IG, brilliant work as always my man. Looking forward to this update!

Working for me as well with TDC Depress, not perfectly, but working well enough for the first iteration. Still interested to hear from ED if this will be further refined to align with the lock mechanics Wags showed in his video showcasing the new feature. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Slew AGM-65F From Wags’ YT Video previewing the new feature, you’re not supposed to have to click to lock. It is supposed to auto lock when you stop slewing and if it can’t you get a lock on anything, you get the break lock and it goes back to normal. Could have changed, but that was how it was described in the video a couple days ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Unless your head is made of magical matter that transports through thick glass, it would happen in every jet, WW2, etc aircraft to ever exist with a canopy.

F/A-18C has been my favorite aircraft for as long as I can remember. Having it in DCS is a dream come true. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks, Razi! Are there any good tutorials of this that you’re aware of? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

100% supportive of this, would be a great immersion add. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anyone know if Joystick Gremlin achieves the same thing?

Finally figured out the iCue software well enough to set up the Red White and Blue "Freedom" theme... Any time I open DCS (i.e. run the DCS.exe file), the lighting changes from whatever I currently have it to set, to this:

This has been brought up many, many times in the past -- especially recently since DCS is taking a Navy/Marine direction on the recent modern jets -- the takeaways of each discussion has been: - The community 100% agrees with you and would love to see the NTTR map expanded West and South, would potentially make it the best/most relevant map we have - ED has said they are done expanding NTTR and there are no plans for this to ever be done
-
DCS and Pimax In the past it’s usually gone something like this... 1) ED says improvements or optimizations are coming in a blanket statement, we anxiously await them 2) Two or three years pass with nothing more said by ED 3) Information and Details Start to be shared with us by ED, hype intensifies 4) Wags shows a video or steam on YouTube telling us how he has every setting on High with MSAA on and he is “Locked at X frames” and it’s a “great improvement we are really going to love” 5) It gets released, we actually have equal or less frames than before and we realize that Wags’ video was him flying in SP, alone, with no other units so it was a worthless performance baseline 6) See step 1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The resolution was never supposed to be better than the Vive Pro, the PPI is actually less if I recall correctly...but the pixel pattern lends to better text clarity. This is for the 5K+, I'm not as well versed on the 8K. But yes, DCS is a disaster when it comes to VR optimization, so pretty much no one here is going to be able to get satisfactory performance out of it unfortunately. At least not until these so call "VR optimization/improvements" are finally released.
