  1. I don't know who you are. Frankly I don't care. But unless you are personally Signing Eagle Dynamics paychecks I don't see where you get off thinking you have the authority to make such a demand.
  2. I'm sorry but what your asking for would dystoy DCS. I understand for many DCS is just a fun flight based combat game. No different from War Thunder, or VTOL VR. But many of us are aviation enthusiasts. And for use DCS is a way to enjoy the most realistic recreation of these often ironic machines available. Is it perfect, no. But it's alot more realistic then most. And yes i know radar and ECM is simplified. But there are good reasons for that. Would different variants enrich DCS? Certainly they would, and many aircraft have them. The A-10C, the F-14, the P-47D, the F1, and the coming F-4E all story different variants of the same airframe. I'm sure that future modules will continue this trend, although likely and rightfully not for free. But it needs to be done by the professionals with the SME and in accordance with realism. Anything less turns DCS into at best a survey sim level game, and at worst an flight based arcade game. There are other games in that genre. It's a genre that DCS was never designed to be in and is not suited for. Let DCS be DCS. The realism can be frustrating at times. But it also is what makes DCS special to so many players.
  3. This would definitely take some serious programming. Especially to be able to do it outside of your own flight. But I think it would definitely be worth it. Getting it to organically work with the AI would be the challenge and the ticket. But the ability to act as an AFAC would expand the play experience of several modules already in game. It would also open up a whole new type of experience, one that is noticeably lacking at the moment. With the dynamic campaign coming this sort of thing could be really fun. At least for some of us.
  4. Following this it's hard to say if it could even be done, which is sad and frustrating. I know at the time DCS was in a place where developers were just doing what they could. I know the the AJS37 broke new ground with its air to ground radar. Buy it would have been nice if Heatblur would have factored in rather or not they could also to a cold War fighter variant. The pair, especially if the fighter carried Fox1s would have represented the complete tactcal mission set for the Swedish air force at the time. Which means that a pair of complementary aircraft could be shoved into almost and situation we can imagine as something other than just a Russia/Soviet vs America fight. It's sad that this seems to be extremely improbable at this time.
  5. Definitely, the AV8B could benefit massively. All the helicopters too. It's a great feature. Jump in the hog and try it out.
  6. I'm glad to see the update. This thing is one of my favorite models. It's good to just fly sometimes. I fly this thing probably as much as the Tomcat. It's nice to see it back. I really hope you will continue to develop it. Sure it's a nich bird. But it's a fun nich.
  7. It's just a fun little model in general. You can also do a what if and penitrate an IADS to "insert" a "spy".
  8. Unfortunately that is not how that works. I do wish it was that way. The F-8 is going to fill a kind of gap in the upcoming cold war modules. Also having a high performance carrier based pure dogfighter will be an absolute blast. But it's unlikely that we will see it before 2026 at the vary earliest. That's the disadvantage of having a small team.
  9. Definitely! I'm hoping Heatblur is warming it up. It'll be a while, but hay this is DCS. Having an A-6E with the built in pod would give us the full capability of the 1980s carrier. All three jets were ment to interoperat and support one another. Actually I would say the the Tomcat and SLUF were there to get the Intruder to the target. The technology level would be perfect for game play. And if the Intruder dose come it'll likely be at the end of a list of cold war modules already in the works. Who knows we might be able to play out some vary interesting cold war scenarios. The SLUF will get us a vary versatile strike platform. An Intruder would give us the anti ship and deep penitrateor precision strike platform. Virtual freedom inbound.
  10. Who knows, they are so tight lipped. They definitely made some massive progress last year. But I think you are probably right. But here's hoping. Hopefully we will have a Phantom soon to scratch the cold war itch. Whenever the A-7 is ready it'll be an instant buy for me. My personal wish list is in this order. A-7E F-4E SU-17/22 Mig- 23MLA AH-1W A late Cold War AH-1 This obviously not not the order I expect them to be released. And not the only titles I would buy. Honestly I can't think of any cold war aircraft that I wouldn't buy. I put the A-7E at the top because I prefer specialized aircraft, and it pairs so well with the A model Tomcat. Both from a mission building perspective and a game play perspective. Being able to fly a mission from both the air to air side and the strike, SEAD, CAS side will be a blast. Especially for me. I'm one of the weirdos that doesn't find dropping GPS guided weapons all that interesting.
  11. Lol DCS is the most expensive "free to play" game out there. I agree the VR with full FFB stick and pedals will be the future. Maybe like ten years out. But it's coming. Still at the moment it's nich. That's one of the reasons I'm waiting until it gets a good bit more avaliable, and the kinks are ironed out. Having flow real flight simulators I completely agree, once you get used to it you can't go back.
  12. I was upset. I still believe they should have replaced the stick. However that being Said I do feel I should do an update. After I glued the magnet I am pleased to report that I have had no issues. I even upgraded to a space gunfighter with an extension. That is an awesome pice of kit. Even with the Gunfighter I still use the NXT as a side stick for the Viper. If anyone is interested in getting an NXT do it. It's the best entry level stick I've ever used bar none. I play alot, and after the repair mine has held up vary well. I've tried the #30 spring, but I'm not sure how I feel. I'm using the #20 right now. If you're flying helicopters go with the #10s you won't even need to trim.
  13. I'm probably buying this first day. I love Soviet aircraft. There WWII birds are so interesting. Hopefully one day you will do an IL-2 from the late war. But there is another project you have hinted that I wish you would complete first. Honestly I'll buy anything you make, especially if it's Soviet. I miss IL-2. But it's hard to go back to after DCS. This is a big step to bringing that experience into the most realistic sim available.
  14. And ground units. With late war Soviet tanks we are well on our way to DCS Korea. Not to mention with the LA-7 we can create some of the combat in the eastern front.
  15. It's not just different commands. You can't just copy the A-10C comm file over to say the F-16C. It's got more going on behind the scenes, and it's freaking awesome. Engage with alows you to order your wingmen to attack a specific type of target, with a specific weapon, from a specific direction. It allows much finer control of your Ai wingmen. You can for instance choose a safe direction to attack from. Which can keep them away from high threat areas. You can keep them from expending vary valuable weapons on easily dystoyed targets. For example, you can have them attack infantry from the south with rockets if the infantry is not protected by SORAD. Keeping Mavericks in store incase tanks show up somewhere else.
  16. Then they should never have moduled it.
  17. I just want to point out that this entire thread is a perfect example of why I love older jets in DCS. People at throwing up EM graghs. Finding small errors at certain flight regimes. It's awesome to be able to actually compare the modules data to the real things data. Unlike some other modules. That and the jets are just interesting. The Cold War is heating up in DCS, and the Tomcat already has a huge head start. I can wait to see the improvements that are coming to the old bird.
  18. The A-10C has the best Ai commands available in DCS bar none. I know we won't have a data link or SPI. But if there is any way to implement something like the "Engage With" menu of the A-10C that would be epic.

    A-7D

It's about as niche as the Tomcat. It may not have featured prominently in a movie. But it sure made alot of history. They provided SEAD support for Eldorado Canyon, took part in the one day destruction of the Iranian Navy, and did both SEAD and pinpoint strike missions in Desert Storm. That isn't even the half of it. If your Tomcat was on a carrier deck in the 80's there were A-7Es on that deck as well. Those two modules are going to go together like a hand and glove on cold war servers. IRL the SLUF had quite the busy and distinguished career.

    A-7D

Did the A-7D carry the triple rack AGM-65s. I'm honestly not sure what version. If it did that alone is a good reason. They are certainly vary similar aircraft. But maybe optimized for different missions. If so, and if it was offered at a decently reduced price, I would definitely buy it.
  21. This right here is the number two reason I prefer cold war aircraft. The availability of data.
  22. OMG yes, make it a standard across all of DCS.
  23. cfrag, I'm not going to argue with you. Also not interested in derailing this thread. I think there would be some value I ED conducting polls to gage interest in aircraft that they have data for. But I don't think a larg enough cross-section of players is represented on the forums for such a poll to be of much value.
  24. I couldn't agree more. Yes the ground Ai would need serious improvement. But I think some of that will be coming with the dynamic campaign. The attack helicopters kinda open the door to ground warfare. I know people talk about long drive times. But I don't see it. You can spawn right at the front. I personally think that with the AIs we have and the muti crew we have that DCS Leopold would sell like hotcakes. Hopefully ED is thinking about this kind of thing. I truly wish the team that did Sam Simulator would come on over. That would be an absolute blast.
