  1. Hello all, I am trying to get my head around the commands concerning the chaff and flares flying the F14. You have the Countermeasures off/manual/automatic. The setting of the Flare and Chaff programms, the commands for Flare mode norm/multi/pilot and then the Dispense order series of commands. My observations so far: When I set Countermeasures auto the aircraft systems are in control of Chaff and they dispense nicely. However I am lost as to what is supposed to happen when I set Flare mode to norm or multi? How do they get dispensed? Jester is not doing it and the Dispense Order is not doing anything either. With Flare mode set to norm/multi the pilot DLC button release one chaff at each press. When Flare mode set to pilot the DLC button release one flare. But programms are not used/excecuted. With countermeasures are set to manual Jester does nothing nor are the Dispense order executed. So my questions for single player: 1 How do you get chaff and/or flare programmes excecuted? 2 What is the purpose and/or use of the Dispense orders? 3 How does the Countermeasure manual mode function and/or how should it work/be used? Any help explanation on how the commands should be used or even what they are suposed to do would be greatly appreciated. RedeyeStorm
  2. Check out the DCS mods forum. There lurks The Prowler!
  3. @sthompson, again operator error I’m afraid. I read ‘AIRIO commands are not available’ as that the commands are not properly installed and therefor can not be used. As I wasn’t in the F14 pit I now understand it should be interpreted that they are not available because you dumb ass are not in a F14! Working now.
  4. Lange. Turned out I didn’t move the axis far enough to register.
  5. Same problem here. Fresh install on new computer. I reinstalled Voice Attack and the AIRIO extenension. No go. Found that in 'EX' tab I can select AIRIO but the option for ICS Hot Mic is grey and not selectable. No idea why this doesn't work. Tried debug but just repeats 'AIRIO commands are not available' and no other information. Als removed export.lua and you guessed. Did nothing either. I am out of ideas. So any help is appriciated.
  6. Well I may have something similair. I just got an new PC and decided to give DCS a try out. However using TARGET profile I can not assign any axis. Buttons fine but not axis. When I disable TARGET and get separate joystick an throttle categories, same thing. Can't assign axis. Buttons again work fine. Never mind operator error.
  7. Get used to it. That’s DCS.
  8. @ZoneySD when voice attack is loaded you have on the right side a number of icons. Is there a red circle with a red line through it? If so you have disabled the keyboard inputs so no keystrokes are sent. Haven’t read the whole post so my apologies if you already checked it. Had once a problem where Voice Attack/Viacom did not respond to my joystick commands. Turned out I had disabled the joystick inputs. Took me days to figure out.
  9. Not for me. I have it on a normal HD. It does matter with loading speed off course but no difference during play. Must say I never had issues with stutters or such.
  10. Had this too. Just quit the mission and restart the mission, no more problem (for me at least). No need to quit DCS.
  11. I turn it of in my Index as I did with my old Rift. But then I am quit satisfied with 45 FPS and 30 FPS on the ground at take off. I do not have a beefy system but also more a SP player. My system is a Intel 6850k oc’ed tp 4.3 and hyperthreading disabled, 16 mb ram, 1070 video card.
  12. Hey CEF. I am not at my PC so can’t check. But partially. If memory serves you do first an alignment on waypoint zero and then correct it through the carriers Tacan. See this post: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=283532
  13. This is caused by the fact that because of the date there is no GPS. There for you have to use an alternative way for alignment. Check the f18 subforum for a how to. The devs put up a post for this. Same post that covers the IFA alignment.
  14. And what year is the mission in? If the mission is pre 1986 there is no GPS so alignment is not happening. In missions pre 1986 I also had that issue.
  15. I will check which drivers I am using. Will report back. I am using 451.48. I am using DCS campaigns a lot and I those missions have lot of birds in the sky as well. No issues. I am talking 6 B52's 6 F14, 8 F18's, 2 tankers, 1x E2c, 6 su25T, 6 Tu22, 6 Su24, 4 Mig 31's, 1x A50, 6x Mig 29's and 4x Su27. Not to mention a lot of sam systems and ships.
  16. +1. I have rain in VR.
  17. I am having a problem with hitting ships in the training mission. The first missile is with radar lock and the remarks say to put the pipper just below the ship. The missile impacts way short of the ship. Subsequent missions I have put the pipper on the ship, beyond the ship but the missile always impacts short. I did have a lock indicator on the radar and ASP17. Same thing when using the Beam rider mode. It impacts short even with steeper dive angles (30 degrees) and the pipper square on the ship. Haven't flown it in a while so am I doing something wrong or is it DCS? Never mind. The problem is that when I press 'refly' the sight is borked. I managed to hit just fine but you have to select the training mission a new and not press refly. Damm those DCS quirks.
  18. I do not have this issue. Using Valve Index myself. Using standard SteamVR and having zero crashes.
  19. On this note. Not the same issue but ground radar related. When I select AG mode the ground rader is auto selected on the right MFD. When I select the EW page and then return to the Attack radar page I get the AA radar and it won't switch back to ground mode. Have to switch on/of the AG-mode for AG radar to return. No track but happens every time.
  20. I see it to but it is not as noticible in the air. I am using it as it does generate a few fps extra and I feel it makes the game smoother. Granted that may be my imagination.
  21. Well VR Index user here. I have always used MSAA because I hate the jaggies. At MSAA 2x I have a lot of shimering on the aircraft and ground. This is mostly noticable when on the ground or looking at planes with F2. Recently I switched to MSAA 4x just to try it out. My expectation was an unflyable mess but lo and behold it is quit playable and no more shimmering. Mind I do not require a high fps. I accept 30 tot 45 fps as playable. PS Still hoping for serious VR fps imrpvements.
  22. Thanks for the tip. Giving this order in combination with driving far enough forward first, seems to do it. I started up my bird and drove forward beyond the line of Cat2. Wingman remained stationary. So I turned around and drove back to starting point and stopped. Requesting engine start and then driving forward again my wingman started forward as well.
  23. Are you using trackir? If I remember correctly it is one of the default keys in the Trackir software. Trackir blocks all other programs from using it. Alternative check other programs running for same. No issues here with F7 key.
