  1. I only play MP, so all my crashes were in MP.
  2. Maybe you should first troubleshoot if the problem is at your end before making posts like this? I had constant crashes also in the F-14 and I understand your frustration. After troubleshooting and reinstalling all my redistributables that fixed the problem for me. Maybe start with that?

    Spoilers.

Turn the ANTI SKID SPOILER BK switch to BOTH before takeoff. http://www.heatblur.se/F-14Manual/cockpit.html#lvc 7. ANTI SKID SPOILER BK switch Selection switch determining operation anti-skid and spoiler brake systems. BOTH - Enables both anti-skid and spoiler brake function with weight on wheels. OFF - Turns off both systems. SPOILER BK - Spoiler brake, enables spoiler brake function with weight on wheels.
  4. It also sets the AIM-7 to boresight mode.
  5. FLARE MODE switch - Switch selecting operational mode for launching flares. Also controls what countermeasure the DLC button on the pilot stick ejects while airborne. You can command Jester to change the switch position. http://www.heatblur.se/F-14Manual/cockpit.html#an-ale-39-control-panel
  6. For me setting them in ME or by the ground crew has no effect. I always have 40 chaff launches and 60 flares no matter what.
  7. The information would be written on your kneeboard before the flight but if you plan e.g. in MP, the RIO can also check the altitude of waypoints using the CAP functions.
  8. Right click hold.
  9. Because ICEMAN AI takes over the controls. I do tho agree that by default he should hold current attitude until otherwise instructed.
  10. Switching the ALE-39 loadout does not work. I tried via the mission editor and ground crew. The ALE-39 always contains 60 flares regardles of what you set in the mission editor or ask the ground crew to set.
  11. You have to manually find him on your radar to lock. You can identify a datalink contact from a symbol below the target and a radar contact has a symbol above the target. If it has symbols above and below your radar can see it and you are receiving from the datalink. See here: http://www.heatblur.se/F-14Manual/general.html#tid-symbology
  12. Do you have PH selected? Are you sure it is a radar contact rather than a datalink contact?
  13. Bangs from the engine usually indicate a compressor stall (rotating stall or compressor surge).

Well the accelerometer there in the picture is indicating max reach of 10g's, so that could be a problem if you over G the aircraft.
  15. I noticed that setting the POSITION switch to flash does not work. With weight on wheels the position lights are steady as they should but in the air they still are steady. Of course I might be missing something.

  17. Just an example: in TWS the first press of the designate starts tracking the target and a second press starts STT. So you use undesignate if you don't want to go STT.
  18. This is why it is only 30 flares: Tho in the model in the game those look more like M206 flares which only take up one slot.

    F18c Startup

Why would that cause a major malfunction?
  20. Nice quote without source. Anyway... NATOPS requires engine crank so don't crank or crank, I do not care :) You are welcome for the help.
  21. Cranking is for the ignition.
  22. Read the post to the end...
  23. It is actually 84 nozzle angle since the plane is 6 degrees pitch up when wheels on the ground. Hover stop is at 82 nozzle angle because the plane is at 8 degrees pitch up when hovering.
