  1. Hey Striker & co., thanks for putting this together and sharing it! My group actually ran v2.0 last weekend and had a blast. Some of us will try to pop in at some point over the weekend if time allows.
  2. If you have a couple of buddies to play with, several of my MP missions have dedicated transport helo taskings. Check out: Op Hydra (CSAR of personnel from damaged oil tankers) Op Lead Sky (Insertion of SF team to gather intel from a nuclear facility) Op Skyhook (Insertion of hostage rescue team on the roof of an insurgent-occupied hotel) The New Soviet Republic Mission 2 (Transport of personnel to join a convoy, and a surprise)
  3. With the inclusion of more carrier-based aircraft in DCS, many naval weapon systems are being tuned. If you wish to prevent the ships from firing, select their starting waypoint and the click advanced waypoint actions. In the menu that appears, click add, then select "set option" from the drop down menu followed by "ROE" and "WEAPONS HOLD." This will prevent the ships from engaging hostile targets.
  4. It does indeed fly an intercept course, but that intercept course is updated as you maneuver by the tracking radar. The missile is able to steer in-flight to intercept your new position unless you maneuver aggressively enough to place yourself outside of its envelope, or defeat the tracking system. The relatively slow, lazy zig zag you can see in that video isn't going to displace that intercept point enough to run the missile out of energy.
  5. You barely maneuvered, and very slowly deployed an ineffective countermeasure (flare) at what would have been an ineffective relative aspect to the launcher, even if you were deploying appropriate countermeasures (chaff.) Sorry, bud, you're just not quite right about how these things work. The missile is quite capable of adjusting its course once fired, especially in response to very mild manuevering at altitude such as what I saw in your video. You are misunderstanding Mr. Lemoine's point regarding the film. Rather than try to write a novel, I'll simply suggest a little more research on the system.
  6. Nope, you'd have to take that up with the Maple Flag crew. They have a subforum here that may have some news.
  7. The Maple Flag campaigns, specifically, are in the process of being migrated to be sold directly through ED and as such can no longer be purchased or downloaded for free. Anything not included in the core installation is not officially supported by ED or third parties, and therefore is dependent on active maintenance by the community as DCS evolves. You can find many free user-created missions, campaigns, liveries and more in the User Files section of the DCS site. The only way to know if something is still working, unfortunately is to try it out. You can see when the file was last updated in each post, or search by date to ensure you are grabbing recent work.
  8. Good luck!
  9. ⁸Under advanced waypoint actions, at the group's first waypoint: ADD -> SET OPTION -> ROE -> WEAPON HOLD For ground/naval units ADD -> SET OPTION -> ALARM STATE -> GREEN state For aircraft ADD -> SET OPTION -> REACTION TO THREAT -> NO REACTION As Shagrat suggests, you can also shut the group's AI off entirely via triggers, though this only works for ground units.
  10. ROE - ONLY DESIGNATED is required. WEAPONS FREE will cause them to self-sort targets if threatened. If the aircraft does not execute the attack with ONLY DESIGNATED, the issue is likely he can't see the target.
  11. You were perfectly clear, your idea just doesn't work. You cannot pause and resume a single continuous sound file. Full stop. You may stop playback, and you may start playback over from the beginning of the file. That is the extent of your transport control in DCS. Several other good alternatives have been offered up here, I'd reccommend exlploring some of those options.
  12. Can't speak to the accuracy of this particular behavior, but I can assure you that bullets don't contain computers. Kinetic energy doesn't equal viability of the tracking system. As SAMs are frequently defensive munitions, it also stands to reason that you might not want an explosive warhead on a ballistic trajectory back to Earth, no?
  13. There is no way to trigger an audio file to play at a specific timestamp, to the best of my knowledge; you can only restart the playback from the beginning. Your best option would be separate files, with enough overlap that they are unlikely to run out of material before the player reaches the next announcement.
  14. If you place the edited file in /saved games under the identical folder structure (so /saved games/dcs.openbeta/mods/aircraft/A-10C/views.lua) does that do the trick?
  15. Heatblur released a ton of information about the way they modeled the AIM-54, you can find a thread from them HERE with a link to the PDF.
  16. Apologies, left out a folder in the path! I have corrected my first post
  17. Place the folder containing the livery in the following location: Open Beta: c:/users/YOURUSERNAME/Saved Games/DCS.openbeta/Liveries/F-16C_50/ Stable: c:/users/YOURUSERNAME/Saved Games/DCS/Liveries/F-16C_50/ If the folders do not already exist, create them. You can select the desired livery either in the Mission Editor, or by contacting the ground crew while in-game and requesting to rearm/refuel.
  18. My group is using the SC on two dedicated server machines, neither of which has it installed...are you running the DCS dedicated server application, or launching a standard installation as a dedicated server?
  19. As suggested, the issue is almost certainly multiple controllers bound to the same function. The T.A.R.G.E.T. software is not necessary, and indeed may add another layer of confusion. There is no need to uninstall the software, just refrain from running it prior to starting DCS; simply connect the controllers to the USB ports on your PC. DCS, by default, binds the pitch/roll/throttle to available axes on any controller connected to the system. In addition, some buttons are pre-bound. The problem is these are very rarely correct, and in the case of the Warthog HOTAS, will lead to pitch and roll being bound to the throttles in Flaming Cliffs aircraft. Some full fidelity modules include default setups for the Warthog (A-10C, F/A-18C, F-16C for example) but for most jets you'll need to set things up yourself before flying. Start by going into the controls menu and selecting the desired aircraft from the drop down. Click on each column for each controller (you'll see separate columns for throttle, stick, and any other peripherals you have attached to the system) and then click the "clear" button to remove all default bindings. Now, in the category drop down select "Axis Commands." Repeat the process, clearing all default axis bindings. You can now configure the HOTAS as desired without worrying about conflicts.
  20. +1, push invisible to the "dead" bandits as well as ROE and waypoint switches and it should do the trick. This is how I've programmed AI not to attack enemies who are bugging out in "The Georgian War." Invisible only affects whether other AI detect the unit.

    Chainsaw

Issues such as this will typically be addressed by the team, but u til then: Create a small trigger zone over the tree in question In the triggers menu, look for SCENERY OBJECTS REMOVE. Select the trigger on your problem tree as the target zone.
  22. Thanks for the morning laugh. Don't quit your day job.
  23. In order to achieve that each aircraft must be a separate group due to the way the EWRS script is written. Unfortunately this means you lose some of the datalink features for equipped aircraft, up to you if the tradeoff is worth it.
  24. SRS has a built-in overlay for Combined Arms players and FC3 aircraft, simply launch SRS and press the "Toggle Radio Overlay" button. Tactical Commander slots, and the ability for players in aircraft to move vehicles through the Combined Arms interface, can be adjusted via the menu button on the left toolbar that looks like a pair of flags.
