Vertical scan ACM mode not working with HMD turned on

but is that an intended feature? IE: the real jet works that way? Or not... That is the question... -
Had a very strange problem last night in multiplayer, where I couldn't get Vertical scan mode working unless the HMD rotary was turned off... It didn't matter which air to air weapon I had selected, it was still the same result. the normal way of going to vertical scan was to select radar and then press up on sensor select switch to go into ACM boresight mode and then press down for vertical scan. works fine as long as HMD rotary is turned off, with the HMD rotary turned on it shows a mode starting with a HA (AAQ?) anyways, vertical scan won't work unless you are already in it with HMD rotary turned off and when rotating the HMD rotary it then displays. Also, I found how to get into it with HMD turned on was to go sensor select switch to the left for wide AQ and then SS switch down and then vertical scan would come up. Not sure if this is bug or an intended feature of using the HMD in the Hornet but my intuition tells me more than likely its a bug.

yup, using ralt+numpad 0 fixed it... Strange it wasn't taking raw values from snapview file, oh well I'm having different problem now with create fast mission it loads without spawning plane / pilot in cockpit and you only see mission map.

can you make it so the direction the pilot turns his head and salutes depends on the CAT position he is on relative to where the shooter would be standing... IE: if on CAT 1 shooter is to the left side of jet, why is pilot gonna look to the right and salute when he should be looking directly at the shooter on the left. ;)

does the F-14 have an intercom between pilot and RIO, would rather use the intercom button PTT as the way to bring up the Jester menu, love the idea of using TRACK IR to navigate the menu too

I just had the same exact problem with P-51D 25 & 30 and TF-51... Very strange, every other airplane allows me to set FOV to 80.000000 which = 100.1 in the sim when first loading inside cockpit. But for J-11 and P-51 I have to set to 100.000000 and press numpad enter key when loading inside cockpit... Very strange.

I'm not able to get custom snapviews working with J-11, i'm trying to make FOV like my SU-27 for default view of 100 FOV value. It works at first when loading but for J-11 it always snaps to FOV value of 80 when clicking fly once in cockpit... Very strange

when I flip through pages in the kneedboard ingame, the HSI page changes to that Air chart I have pulled up on the kneeboard too... Thought that was neat

In one of Lex's videos where he has his friend come over who was a Harrier pilot in the USMC, he mentions the autopilot in the module is not behaving as it should have in the real jet. They named this system "George"

STEAM has GBUs I was flying the Harrier last night lazing targets at night for Hornets... Found that the Hornet pilots had no idea where the targets were so I would use laser marker first so they could use AUTO bomb mode with TDC on HUD and then switch from laser marker to laser and paint the targets. Worked just fine at night when they could see my marker laser from my TPOD.

Just watched this video about SU-34 and noticed an SU-27 being loaded with bombs and tried to replicate the same load out in DCS but I was unable to load the single FAB-100 bombs on stations 9 and 2. also in the same video just 1 scene later you can see bombs larger than FAB-100 being dropped from SU-27 and falling in line with devastating effect on the bombing range. What do you guys think? Watch from 1:35 time stamp, it shows SU-27.

I felt the last video was kinda a lack-luster update about the development of the F-15E but that may be because of the re-work of the 3D model.

I would like the non-JHMCS helmet for historical scenarios like gulf war era with Sparrow missiles and no targeting pods, etc... Give the choice of equipment to the mission makers to change in the editor.

So, I was watching a cool video looking at USMC Hornets and I noticed that the launch bar "snaps" down when the nose gear is lowered... Looks quite sharp, then I thought to myself... Hmmmm, I wonder if the DCS Hornet looks like that too. so I fired up DCS and the animation I saw was basically the opposite animation of the launch bar retracting when raising the nose gear. So I thought I would post this here to show how the real one looks in flight when being extended with the gear lowered to possibly help rectify that in DCS. Yeah, I know... Small detail to work on / miss. But its these small details that bring the overall planes to life and give em character of their own. Timestamp 9:32
