  1. Very nice thanks :D (FYI you don't need to zip up PDF files, they are already compressed)
  2. The thrustmaster FCS throttle is pretty much spot on. But we need a matching flight stick.
  3. If the T16000M had one more hat, the FCS throttle and stick would be perfect for the hornet at a very good price point.
  4. I'd be happy with a mid range stick with two or more hats to go with the FCS throttle, which already seems perfect for the f/a-18
  5. Play as hard as you want, but it doesn't necessarily need to involve self destruction. If people treated their bodies like they do their cars, we'd have a whole lot less of this: Which happens from even moderate alcohol consumption as recent studies indicate. Look after yourselves, and you'll be playing DCS a lot longer
  6. If you can convince my wife to allow a dome construction for me I'd be happy with that  But as it is I have a VR headset and a 15" laptop to play on, and the VR headset experience is far superior to a small screen, and I would gladly trade the 3D effect to push DCS above the minimum settings in VR. For the $200 I spent on a WMR headset, and a middle of the range laptop I could have a very immersive experience far beyond, what a 15" screen with a trackIR can offer  I can have an immersive experience now, but I don't think most people appreciate how much of DCS's beauty is missing on minimum settings. YES! Someone understands me :D
  7. Because you gain about 100% extra FPS, and far more rich detail - and still get 60% of the immersion, with much more comfortable head tracking than trackIR. It won't look "3D" but you are still sitting in the cockpit, and everything is to scale even with 2D VR :-) Which software can I use?
  8. I've noticed that in Google Cardboard VR you can choose to render a flat/2D youtube video to both eyes. It's the same image for both eyes, so you don't get a 3D effect, however you still get much of the immersion. So my question is, would this be possible in DCS? You would get an immediate performance benefit, since the game is only being rendered once, and sending it to both eyes. So it should therefore run as smoothly as it does on a regular screen. Which means you could have all of the details turned up to make DCS look as beautiful as it deserves to look, and also you have the benefit of seeing everything to scale (which you don't get on a typical screen). Plus the headtracking is more natural in VR.
  9. Can we take this thread as a hint for native WMR support in the future? :-)
  10. So if someone wants to play on release day they will need the beta version of DCS installed?
  11. Is it true that this plane has a radar capable of scanning for ground targets?
  12. Apple wouldn't allow DCS on iTunes store though lol 8K for each eye though is amazing. That will make VR as crisp as most monitors.
  13. At least it doesn't press against my nose, right? :-) I'm just kidding, this is actually from a documentary about the Eurofighter 2000 as it was known back then:
  14. I usually just turn on labels.
  15. A couple of warthog throttles and one joystick in Valerian and City of 1000 planets :
  16. You don't want to restrict carbs in the long run though, all of the healthiest foods contain carbohydrates - fruit, grains, beans etc It's a long conversation so I won't get into it since we have google at our disposal, but the research shows that all of those people on low carb diets such as atkins, paleo and keto do lose weight, but sadly their chances of all-cause mortality actually goes up! Which is the opposite result we're looking for, we want to be thin to be healthy, not thin to have a lighter coffin  Sorry to hear about your sister, I heard a lot of bad things about gastric bypass surgery recently, very sad.
  17. Trim the aircraft and use autopilot, and letting go of the stick usually not an issue :-) Of course all of your combat controls are on the HOTAS so no need to let go (usually)
  18. And some pedals too :P Looking forward to your review, I'm eyeing off VPC too. I'm basically deciding between VPC and VKB. VPC I'd like because of the desk mounts and the better trim hat. VKB I'd like because I know what their rudder pedals are like. Throttles from both are unknown at this time, but both look great. I guess I can always mix and match, but it's nice to have it all from the same manufacturer. Time will tell :-)
  19. Good point, native WMR support will be excellent  Personally I love WMR, the cost of entry is only a few hundred bucks instead of thousands, fewer cables, no mounting sensors etc.
  20. Great stuff, I'm looking forward to flying this in VR and multiplayer :-)
  21. THe resolution bump is nice, but it's not a huge leap forward, but it does make that little bit more playable.
  22. That was my approach too, I figured I'd try it for 3 to 4 weeks and see what happens. It made it mentally much easier for me to have a trial period, because I was afraid of a 'life-long commitment' in the past. But it's been over 3 years now, and after after a few months it is completely effortless as my mind just switched gears. And like others have said, it's so simple and easy, it's almost criminal that this isn't the default response when you go to the doctors. Fix the problem, instead of treating the symptoms with pills. (of course if you are on meds, they will likely need to be adjusted as you improve, so keep your doctor informed)
  23. Do you find that you can find the base/non-grip switches easily enough when you can't see them?
  24. At least you allow your computer to sit down. Many people make their computers stand....:music_whistling:
  25. I love the grips on this throttle - so many buttons - but I am also getting ready for VR flight, and I think most of the buttons, switches and dials will not get used by me. All I really need is the controls on the grip, a flaps lever, and a gear button. (stuff I can reach "blindfolded" easily) Do you think there is any chance of having a VR throttle in the future? e.g.
