Tips for A2A on Georgian Campaign Mission 2?
Sryan replied to sze5003's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Set the pulse repetition frequency to high. It works best for bandits coming at you hot. Since you get the bearing from AWACS, you can also narrow down the scanzone so you can do faster scans. Make sure to set the antenna elevation appropiately. Make sure to tell your wingman to turn his radar on, and when the cleared hot command comes, tell him to "engage bandits" or "engage my enemy" so he can help you win the encounter. You can lock up both bandits at the same time using TWS, and guide AMRAAMs towards both of them at the same time. Although it is ideal, you don't have to guide the AMRAAMs all the way to pitbull. If you drop the lock, the AIM-120's will remember the last calculated spot and go active there anyway. You can study the map and reference the river to the border, so you don't accidently enter Abkhazian airspace. When the shooting starts, make sure to drop your fuel bags, and be as high and fast as reasonably possible when you launch your slammers. -
Just press SHIFT-ALT-B to create a 2D screen. You can drag this around and put it on a secondary screen. If you press the top left corner you can resize the 2D panel to whatever you are comfortable with.

Thanks for the kind words, BD! Sze, that's an incredible deal on the aircraft and the campaign that you shouldn't pass up. The F-15 campaign acts as a prologue to the Mirage campaign, so you can remain immersed in the story. If you are comfortable flying the M-2000C in air-to-air, the F-15 shouldn't be giving you that much trouble to learn how it works. I hope my guide BD linked will be able to help you learn it, and if there's still questions after that, you can always ask them here or in the F-15 part of the forums!

Yes, you have the Su-27 if you own flaming cliffs 3. And you can fly it in any version of DCS, including 1.5

You could get a USB hub or a PCI expansion card to get the required amount of USB slots.

The service ceiling according to Boeing's website is 38 000ft, so I doubt Razbam's harrier will make it to angels 60. Some other sources state a much higher ceiling though. The cockpit will be fully functional, like Razbam has already demonstrated in some videos, like the cold start.

Something that might work for you is setting up the paddle switch as a modifier, then use the trim hat on your stick to set up some rudder trim. You won't need to take your hands of your HOTAS or look away from anything.

There was a fall sale in late october last year, maybe they'll do that again.

Could this build run a 3 screen matrix set up?
Sryan replied to GazAce's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
whelp. I only sought to provide good advice. My apologies, I edited my post. My point was that M.2 SSD's are approximatly 40% more expensive per GB than SATA SSD's, but that the financial burden might not be an issue for you. In no way did I intend for it to be a personal attack. -

That motherboard already has a 1000Mbps ethernet connector built in, so you can drop the $45 ethernet connector. Since you already have an ethernet connector, what do you need the WLAN adaptor for? you picked a motherboard that supports M.2 SSD's. You can consider swapping out the 850 evo's for the 960 m.2 evo: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/ZNBrxr/samsung-960-evo-250gb-m2-2280-solid-state-drive-mz-v6e250. they're fairly easy to install. The 4TB drive means you're going to have to format your drives in the EUFI format, and not in NTFS. It's most likely a non-issue, and will even boot faster. But EUFI has been midly problematic at times for me in the past. You can probably get faster RAM for a similair amount of money. But faster RAM is going to require XMP profiles. It's usually fairly easy to work with, but up to you to decide if it's something you want to indulge yourself in. The motherboard already supports sound, including 7.1 surround. The sound card is overkill, unless you produce music or have extreme audio demands. With computer parts, something better is always just over the horizon. But with AMD having released Vega very recently, Nvidia might release their new Volta series of graphics card very soon. Allowing you to pick up some new hardware or get a better deal on the current gen material, unless you absolutely need that machine now. -
AWACS unit of measurement BRAA in feet or meters? AGL/MSL?
Sryan replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS 2.9
I believe its nauticals and feet for Western aircraft, and meters for Eastern. -
1990 clouds in 2017 sim?

You can get a good look at the WIP clouds in . -
Yes, Baltic_Dragon made The enemy within.

Yeah, you can use VR in the standalone as well. You can bring over any modules you may have bought on steam, except recent copies of the M-2000C.

Lino_germany created a map that has all the TACAN, VORTAC, ILS, NDB and Tower frequencies at their respective location, hope this will prove useful to you! For your A-10C Warthog, you will want to look at the green tower frequencies. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1587399/

That is correct. You will have to install it again, through the module manager that you will find inside DCSW2. However, it will not need to download anything again. It will detect the A-10 is installed in 1.5, and copy the files from there.

Looks fantastic, Sith. Will those precision approach path indicator lights we see on the left side of the runway be functional?
-
IIRC Nails would be for if the bandit is in search mode, and spike for if the bandit is in tracking mode. The correct way to call out that Fulcrum would be with 'contact', 'radar contact', or 'tied' if info was given from a sentry or another asset. You can also return with 'judy' to another asset if you don't need any aditional guidance to complete the intercept. 'tally' is for contact visual, eyes on.

No POST, no beeps? Is it possible the CPU power feed is not connected (properly), in case you worked on the rear case fan?
