  1. These are great photos. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Given all the other limitation around using NVGs in a SIM vs real life, I'd personally rather just be able to see inside my cockpit without having to hit my spacebar. But that's just my opinion. But there is only so many times I can lift my VR goggles off of my head because I forget they aren't actually NVGs before I get frustrated. But to each there own
  3. ^ This If you get the lines on the HUD, switch to SAFE and press the Pickle button again, which will clear them. Then Back to ARM and continue.
  4. Ergo, there is no crosswind limit. Because there is no cross wind if you face the wind. You must be the wind. :megalol:
  5. I use the space bar for my nvgs. And I fly in VR so my whole screen is nvg not the to 2/3 like when you aren't in VR (different issue all together). I prefer the nvg offer flir, mainly because it's all around vs HUD view, which is very limited. I just to the space bar to look inside. I tend not to use weapons I need to look in the cockpit for at night, so bombs/rockets/gun and make use of jtacs for lazing or it markers. That's the beauty of this aircraft, the internal LST. If I'm going to use Mavericks or the TGP I won't use nvgs while I'm in attack mode. If you set up the displays for night (turn the EHSD map off, DMT to nite mode, don't use the TGP) I haven't really had an issue at night, even with nvgs on. But I adjust the gain on them so it's not too big of an issue. I see a lot of people complain about the mpcds not adjusting, but honestly the warning lights are a bigger issue for me. Get the low fuel light on with the goggles on and tell me how you like that. Or the master warning or caution. That blinds me, not the displays. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  6. This exact thing happened to me vs some SA-19s. I'm all like ”wow, these SA-19 missiles must be pretty small, that was a loud thump" took a AAA round or 2 also. Got back to the ship and looked around. Haha, not a scratch. "It was at that moment, that I knew..." Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  7. Can try this. I like it a lot. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3300537/ Or make your own. The BMS sounds were pretty nice. I'd use it. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  8. In the RWR page press OBS 5 next to the chaff program to switch it to P from S. Then it follows the program set when in the CMS program page. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  9. It's not. Those types of mirrors can be adjusted to view a different area, but not flipped completely up. They are mounted on a ball and joint type of holder. But it'd still be nice Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  10. Are the gbu 16s still effected as well? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  11. I know it's a day attack, but given some pending projects around the community, felt the urge to share.
  12. If you do happen to release the pickle button before the stick of bombs is done and you get the four lines: Cycles to master arm to safe, press and release the pickle button, cycle back to arm, and continue. That will solve your problem Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  13. A bug, in my mind is something coded incorrectly, like the flight model you are suggesting. But we may have different definitions. I have provided two tracks for you, or anyone else. In the first I drop a load of bombs. You can see my control deflection and land with an asymmetric load. In the second, I land with an asymmetric load on either 1/7, I forgot. Track 1 Track 2 I did this to show that I "hardly ever [notice]" but that is my experience. I'm not doubting yours, I'm asking what your control setup and curves are to see if maybe it's that. Because my experience seems different than yours. And here is my roll curve setting. I use a Virpil WarBRD with no extension.
  14. Because we don't have the same experience. So it's not universal. And if you're reporting a bug, they've asked for a track. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  15. Post a track with controls indicator and your controls setup?
  16. You need a unit that can lase, or he won;t if you set him to laser only. Suggestion: Vehicle: LAV-25, Bradley or Abrams Designation: Laser, or Laser and WP Set Options: Invisible/Immortal on, place them near some sort of concealment (trees, but not blocking view) for your sense of realism
  17. 15 miles is easy too far. Like 2x as far as you'll get a lock. It sounds like you need to look at the tutorials a little better because what you're saying doesn't actually make too much sense with how you should be operating them. But if you're pushing TDC depress and getting a diamond, you're in INS mode, which is wrong. You can do that too pick where you want the jet to look. But you need to press sensor select switch forward to box IRMAV in the HUD and have control of the Maverick. Take a closer look at the tutorials. You're not doing something right. 18. Any word on if/how Jester can enter/change tacan channels? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  19. Put simply, ask yourself "Do I want to fly the Harrier?" If yes - sure. Buy it, you'll have fun. If no, not really - I wouldn't. You won't have fun. If kind of, looking for something new - but it on a sale, fly it occasionally. You'll have no complaints. Food for thought. The Harrier and A-10 aren't exactly the same type of attack aircraft. If you like having a load of options while airborne, or the ability to clear an entire objective alone, you won't find that with the Harrier. The Harrier is more of a study the Target before flight, identify the key strengths of that target, fingure out how to attack that. And make a more precise attack on a specific part of the objective. Fly out there, take a look, make sure what you see matches what you planned for, and either change your plan or carry out your attack. CAS in the jet, with a good mission is usually great fun. I have my JTAC, usually a LAV lasing for me, usually some sort of armor and 2 squads of infantry and another LAV. Once the armor is destroyed the ground units move to take an objective. I stick around to help pick off anything else that may hurt them. Point is you've got more options on HOW to employ weapons and the A-10 gives you more options on WHAT to employ. 20. See that's the thing, I'm not a casual simmer. Not even a little bit. I can garuntee you, I am more "hardcore" than you think you are. Fact: the module is incomplete. Therefore, you will not be able to use it according to the real life manuals and TTPs. End of story, wait for it to be released. So you're argument is already finished. But let me continue. Opinion: you don't need the module to be complete to fly the module in a realistic manner. Fact: you don't need point track to track a moving vehicle. You can so do quite handily with enough practice. Track a moving tank at 30 knots and hit it with GBU-12s and AGM-65Es. Fact: flying good profiles renders the CCIP and Auto bombing mode missing features irrelevant (most of the time) There are a couple profiles in which you are too high to keep the Target in your HUD, but the vast majority of them, if flown correctly, and by doctrine, means you will not need the CCIP to Auto conversion, and Auto mode works, line still sways. But that's for fine correction. Fact: good scans should inhibit you from flying without a LAW Radar altimeters break all the time. And when they do, you should have been scanning anyway. Guestimation: you haven't been to Naval Flight School, or were a winged Naval Aviator? I'm assuming you weren't. If you were, I'll happily stand corrected. But I was. And I know how, and why Marine Aviators do things, and how Marine Aviators deal with things that are broken. Referencing my earlier point. The module is not finished. This is a fact. So, you can work with what you have, and fly it realistically based on what you have, or not. The matter of fact is you are flying a simulation of the real thing. It's never going to be 100% accurate. Never. It'll be pretty good, at best. You're missing a lot of the training and knowledge to fly this jet like the real pilots do. And you're missing a lot of the battle space to fly it realistically as well. If you want to be upset it's not finished, have at it. Not my cup of tea, but do you. But whining because you (and I know it wasn't you, personally) can't fly a mission in it, is really on you. If you want to be part of beta, find a bug, test it, report it. Really want to embrace the ethos of what it means to be a US Marine? Accept the 80% solution, adapt and overcome. Do more with less, and accomplish your mission. Whatever that may be. 21. They already have, go looking for it. It's going to be the top priority after the Mirage gets it's attention. Also I've seen you say this a couple times, that you CAN'T use it in realistic missions. Quite frankly, you're full of it. I do it ALL THE TIME. What you mean is there are features you want and don't have. None of that stops you from flying the aircraft "realistically" you can manually track moving targets with the TPOD, you can actually fly a good profile and use both auto and ccip. You can do everything. You're choosing not to practice and be proficient with what you have. Yes, the module is not complete. We all know that. It will be, at some point. Maybe it maybe not in how fast you'd like. But the theatrics are seriously getting old around this forum. Go spend some time training and less time complaining and you might actually be good enough to fly your missions. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  22. I'm not saying you don't. I'm saying I'm not experiencing the issue you're talking about under the conditions you've listed. Which is just as important in figuring out what is going on. It's a part of finding the issue. Of note. I also haven't flown the river defense mission Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  23. I've done it in 3 minutes under all of these conditions. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
