  1. Its the small things that count to me, and stuff like this I value a lot for whenever I create missions. We got the A-10C for a dozen different countries that never used them, but we cannot get the F-15C for the country's that do use them?? Come on ED!
  2. Pretty much everything, the F-35A is the F-35
  3. I wish we would have a Mirage 2000-5, but we don't so...:music_whistling: Hornet FTW in DCS!
  4. No Super Duper Hornets are not as good as F-35's but how many of the US rivals have stealth fighters, or will have them in the near future. China & Russia will have a small fleet of 5th generation over the next 15 years, with both of these nations still relying on their own upgraded 4th generation aircraft for the next few decades. The Super Hornets are outstanding Strike Fighters, and they perform the role very well for nearly the last 2 decades and will most likely be performing the same role for the foreseeable future. They will play a large role for decades the Super Hornets, alongside the F-35. Even if the Navy was to build a new plane, what would it be? A two engine F-35? Take them billions of dollars and most likely 15 years to have it in service too...
  5. I think its more cool knowing that is was used in real life for an actual purpose and not a game, more of a collectible I guess you could say
  6. Important to Remember that we have an 80's version of the Mirage 2000C, and that we are getting a mid 2000's update of a the F-18 with JHCMS, 9X & AIM-120. Thats not to say the Mirage 2000C in DCS will be obliterated every time, but its at an extreme disadvantage due to the time difference of the modeled aircraft.

Does anyone have any good information on the different blocks/models of JHCMS? Surely it has been modified and updated in its 15 years of service right?
  8. Yes of course there is, this is just a flight simulation available to public nothing will be perfect (which we will have no idea if its perfect or not). It was more of point to say that the Super Hornet is relatively new when compared to an F-15/16 or MiG-29
  9. That is very true but how many F-22's were around 2004? Considering there is less than 200 aircraft now its not like its fleet wide like it will be in 10 years with the F-35 going full blunt. No doubt the technology is around, is it being implemented on everything? With the Golden Eagle these technological advancements will finally be implemented. Though yes the US is still leagues ahead than most of its competitors in the 5th generation department, and most likely always will be
  10. I know its generally been stated before but if I want the Super Hornet, I want the Super Hornet with all the bells and whistles (which remain classified). Its important to remember how new the Super Hornet is (especially since its still in production for the US Navy), and all blocks of any kinds still have more limited data. It just makes since to focus on aircraft that have more data around because they have been around longer
  11. I believe that is the official plan, make the Eagle a missile truck (mostly but also self sufficient hunter) for the Raptor and Fat Amy.
  12. Look at the B-52, KC-135, C-130H, aircraft produced in the the 60's and their still fine. Yes I know someone is going to mention it, their not designed to pull g's and that has a big effect on the lifespan of the aircraft. And to that I say look at the T-38 fleet. Most aircraft were produced in the 60's with a few in the 70s, and these are advanced jet trainer aircraft that have been abused and screwed with for over 50 years! And they still got another 10 years before their replaced. The USAF F-16's will be around until 2046 confirmed, everything is internal upgrades now for example. In terms of air frame longevity its just replacing wings mostly for fighters. Most aircraft in service today will still be in service in 2040 (as of now at least). Hell the A-10 might even make it to 2040 based on recent plans 6th Generation aircraft is definitely in development somewhere for the USAF, but It wont be operational for probably 30 years me thinks (just look at how long it is taking for the F-35 development period). IIRC the USAF stated in the fall that they are doing the smart thing and focusing on F-35 delivery and 4th generation upgrades rather than rushing 6th generation. I mean think about, the USAF is the only country with combat ready 5th generation aircraft. Lets focus on getting more 5th gen before we go to 6th. The Navy did order over 12 more Super Hornets this year, 4th generation aint going anywhere anytime soon.
  13. I know the rendering is, but it is in the F-15C 2040 Air Superiorty Fighter video, which is where I found it from. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGY2JBuSCU0 Though I know did just find a correct rendering of what the F-15C 2040/Golden Eagle/Advanced F-15 Air Superiority Fighter/etc
  14. It's official, operational F-15C's are receiving long term upgrades for the future. F-15C's from the 159th Fighter Wing (LA ANG) have received Conformal Fuel Tanks (CFT) and Multi-Rail Missle Launchers under the F-15 Persistent Air Dominance Enabler . The Multi-Rail Missle Launchers can hold up to 4 AIM-120's each. Not only do the CFT's give the F-15C an extended range, they also put more hard points on the aircraft (as seen on the F-15E Fleet). F-15C CFT's are known as FAST Packs, and they have actually been mounted on F-15C's in the past that were stationed in Iceland or Alaska, but are no longer used due to the drag. The article attatched below is great and explains in full details these upgrades. All the aircraft starting these upgrades are known as "Golden Eagles" that will help serve as part of the SLEP program to allow the -C model fleet serve into the 2040's, and more upgrades include an IRST Pod, Cockpit Upgrades, and more. I am sure that the F-15C's in the next few years will be getting re winged like the A-10's, in order to allow an increased service life. I wonder if the fleet will eventually be receving more RAM, such as seen on the increasingly number of F-16 Have Glass V program aircraft So long for retiring the Eagle Fleet! http://imagesvc.timeincapp.com/v3/foundry/image/?q=60&url=https%3A%2F%2Fs3.amazonaws.com%2Fthe-drive-staging%2Fmessage-editor%252F1517870656110-screenshot2018-02-05at2.44.03pm.png SOURCE - http://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/18259/its-back-to-the-future-for-u-s-f-15c-eagles-and-conformal-fuel-tanks
  15. It turns out I have an integrated graphics card, which DCS does not support according to support. This is the reason for my problems
  16. I used to be able to (I have had this problem since I got the game around 3 years ago). However the game just keeps crashing non stop. I just did a fresh reinstall and loaded up a mission. Went 3 minutes and the game crashed. I play for 15 seconds on NTTR before that crashes, so that was a bad financial idea also. I hate to say because I have spent so much money on DCS (and the F-18 is finally on sale), but I think its time to retire until I get a better computer.
  17. Support got back to me and told me that integrated graphics cards are not supported (I must have missed that in the FAQ). Oh well I guess I am not going to be playing DCS anymore. Especially if I cannot play this, I dont even want to look now about how bad 2.5 is with the Hornet
  18. Ok thread bump. Thank you for all your responses, I have deleted all my mods, and I think I am going to do a fresh re install. I am also going to submit a ticket to support
  19. Hi I've been experiencing a lot of crashes within 15 minutes of gameplay in the last 6 months. It is extremely frustrating me and is driving me away from the simulator. Sorry if I did not attach the proper logs. I think I am going to go for a complete fresh re install sadly. I have another major problem with the lighting also (stated in another thread), if you can help with anymore suggestions that would be great. I think a total re install might be the only option also. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=188127 EDIT - DCS does not support integrated graphics cards, and apparently it really has only mattered in the last couple of months. I hate to say it because I spent so much money on the game, but its time to take a break from DCS until I get a new computer. If anyone has an old computer please be careful on how much money you spend until your outdated. dcs.log-20180113-030433.zip dcs.log-20180101-054154.zip dcs.log-20171231-141354.zip dcs.log-20171229-175847.zip
  20. Well I guess if you consider 1970s-1980s Cold War Europe "Low Threat". No doubt the Hawg thrives in low-mediums threat environments, look in just the last couple years in Operation Inherent Resolve. But it's not a Coin aircraft, its an attack aircraft. Maybe I'm just looking into this too much, but I consider low threat environment aircraft to be such as the ones being tested in the USAF OA-X competition right now, turboprops for COIN. Though we have to remember that even though this is a flight simulator, it is a game at the same time. If people want to fly their A-10 loaded to the brim with munitions flying at 50 feet to take out SA-6 sites, they will. I've created about 100 realistic missions, with realistic threats in it is much more enjoyable to try and employ the aircraft like it was/is.
  21. Tried searching online to find a downloadable version of the coloring book. Does anybody have any links to where I can download it?
  22. This right here is what I think about when I am trying to fall asleep. Simulating a Simulation inside a Simulation
  23. I didn't respond earlier, but I think I will now. Yes $80 is very expensive for a flight simulation (well to some of us at least). It's a lot of money, I'm a student I know it hurts, but its well worth it. Think about how much you are getting, especially for $60 on pre-order, we are getting so much more capability's than on the A-10C (which is still an amazing module and will continue to be). While I saw that cost I kinda of cringed, however when you look at everything that is included this module will wipe away all other modules in terms of what you can do with it. The Hornet is almost the ultimate module, able to do everything you could really want it too. It is introducing so many never seen before weapons and flight operations into the game. We will have carrier ops with the Hornet (which is included in the price) The Harrier cost $70 because Razbam spent time (still is) on their Tarawa Class ship and KC-130 I would not be surprised if the F-18C one day cost goes down to $40 standard within 5 years(like the A-10C), it will be most likely on sale next Christmas for possible 1/2 up. Ultimately the choice is up to, you have pretty much guaranteed 5 months to decide for yourself.
  24. Getting hit by a SAM (if it did) has no impact on a kill ratio, the Eagle will still probably hold that ratio forever. The problem is that there is really no reliable sources in this situation. Is there any pictures of wreckage that could prove this happen? Guess we will have to wait a little while to find out more...
  25. This is what makes me think its fake in a general summary. Why does the video cut off? Wouldn't the rebels want to show off their glorious victory as we see the aircraft crumble and rip apart into a million pieces (if this happened). Why didn't the Saudi pilots eject, wouldn't the rebels want to show that also? Or did the F-15 survive and make it back to base, and that is why we don't see the rest of the video? These videos are propaganda videos
