Thank you very much for telling us, this is very interesting to us. I was thinking that the trainer aircraft would greatly benefit from something like a Jester, and I wonder if it will ever happen.

This is awesome news, 2 multirole fighters in 1 year. Should be an amazing module with all its capabilities

What block number is FC3's F-15C modeled after?
frixon28 replied to Vampyr's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Thread Bump http://www.uswarplanes.net/f15.html Production History of the F-15 (of all variants), thought it would be interesting. -
I think he might have been referring to those large rockets that the SU-33 can carry, believe they are the ones that take up a single hard point. You can use them against lightly armored/non armored ships with success.

Thanks for posting this, I love seeing how a HUD actually looks like. Might just create a new thread for HUD footage

F-84D ThunderJet By CubanAce Simulations
frixon28 replied to cubanace's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Good luck I am excited to see this happen. Great to see you enthuastic, especially since this aircraft is "simple" and will be a great test -
Seeing that terrain just completely humbled me. Most realistic I have ever seen, actually made me feel like I was in the air and brought good feelings. No way I can run this though considering running minimum graphics on 1.5 is still rough for me (and many others I bet). Awesome video

What? I think it would be interesting and I know some general stuff about the F-117, just like dozens of other members on the forum. Do you know something we do not know? I never knew someone had the power to decided what is and isn't fun for others... Fun is an opinion, this argument can apply to any bomber. Example DCS B-17, flying in formation for hours and trying to maintain formation while your crew does the bombing (pulling a lever). How fun (sarcasm). And to some people that is fun, and good for them! Just like the F-117 simulation would be fun for some people, and not fun for you. ironic that theres so much resistance to general aviation and trainers -- maligned for having few systems and 'lesser' performance, yet so many contrived arguments in favor of the f-117, an aircraft that's truly lacking in both systems operation and flight performance. This is my opinion, but I don't think the resistance to trainers is because of their fewer systems, I think its because we have so many of the buggers! Hawk,L-39,C-101 all are very similar in their capabilities. The F-117 was made to fulfill its task, and history proved it to be very successful. It would be the most unique DCS aircraft to this date. you all are just enamored with the superficial aspects of the airplane. sad. it's a waste to model this thing to dcs standards when all you guys really care about is its shape and your internal fantasy about being "stealthy", which, no, will not save you from eating hot dookie the way you imagine it will. Umn, I sure am not. And neither are hundreds of other people who want to see this aircraft. I guess I just fantasize about simulate flying a stealth aircraft in DCS, is that a problem with you? People like DCS modules because of many reasons, it is their choice and we are all unique in this term. A waste to model this no, not really. Though saying the F-117 won't save me from SAM sites is wrong, just look at real life where the F-117 was extremely successful in both Gulf Wars in its intended roles (yes 1 got shot down in Serbia we all know)

Sad to see any company in kit built jets go...but the Viper Jet appealed to such a small crowd with its high costs and focus on luxury. Hopefully the Sonex JSX-2 with its extremely low cost, portability and tiny operating costs (relatively) will appeal to the masses of experiment single seat aerobatic kit jet builders

I would not call the Canadian military outdated just because they are using Hornets for a couple more years. Are Legacy Hornets the most high tech aircraft in 2017, no way! But they are far from useless pieces of metal that many (not aimed at anyone in specific) people in the internet make them out to be. They are still great multi role aircraft, and from a technological point of view with upgrades they can still remain capable.! The airframes are tired, and hopefully these Aussie jets will help with parts, but technologically the jets got a few more years. No they dont compare to a 5th generation fighter, but only the US has meaningful numbers of operational jets. IIRC the USMC is planning to operate their Hornets until 2030! The USAF is keeping 300 F-16s until 2046, Hornets for Canada for another decade even isnt the end of the world (I know different ages of airframes) I understand the F-35 is coming to town, and is by far better than its competition. But for even the most modern air forces, 4th generation aircraft will be a viable threat still for the next 20+ years. Yes everything will be replaced by 5th generation, but not for quite some time. Rant Complete

Im a big fan of light attack/coin, some aren't. it would be cool but we still got the MiG-19, A-29B, Mirage 3 amd THEN we could see about this. But yah it would be interesting, I love simulatimg these old school no high tech jets.

Just a quick thought from my pea-sized mind. When Kylo & Rey finished fighting Snoke's Guards and Kylo says something along the lines "forget the jedi, sith, rebellion & empire, lets start over and make our own path" I really thought it was going to happen. Atleast in my head I was like "wow this is going to get great". Then Kylo got to angry and greedy and that was that. Sure would have been interesting too see

Thank you and forgive me for my confusion. Interesting choice that they are releasing the B first considering the long history of the A model. Was it faster to model the GE engines than the PW engines that made them choose to release the B first? Who knows.

Not sure whether to this post in this section or in the Military Aviation section, but figured I would put it here to bring up some interesting points. From the F-14 website (seriously everyone here needs to spend a few hours on this site) http://www.anft.net/f-14/f14-history-combat.htm "The F-14 came to late for the Vietnam war and only one deployment about USS Enterprise (CVAN-65) with CVW-14 was made from 17 September 1974 to 20 May 1975. Even though VF-1 and VF-2 Tomcats flew combat air patrols over South Vietnam as part of Operation Frequent Wind, F-14s didn't score any MiG kill. The following squadrons belonged to Carrier Air Wing 14: VF-1 F-14A VF-2 F-14A VA-27 A-7E VA-97 A-7E VA-196 A-6A, KA-6D VAQ-137 EA-6B HS-2 SH-3D VAW-113 E-2B RVAH-12 RA-5C VQ-l Det 65 EA-3B" VF-1 "Wolfpack" & VF-2 "Bounty Hunters" were the first operational F-14 Squadrons, receiving their first Tomcats in July of 1973. They did not engage any enemy aircraft. The way I understand it is that we will be getting 1980's version (still confused if were getting the F-14A or B first :helpsmilie:) of either aircraft, so obviously the Tomcat we will get will internally will not have much in common with these first Tomcats. However with this module I am very much looking forward (hopefully)to using older models of weapons, such as the AIM-7E series and rear aspect sidewinders. I also thought it would be interesting to post about the CAW, and how hopefully we'll get some AI modules to support playable aircraft. Stuff like this is a huge boost to realism IMO. *Pictures below are from the 1970s, but not Vietnam themselves, tried to find era schemes VF-1 VF-2 1975

Ahh so you want science in a movie about highly religious space wizards with ability's to choke people with their mind. :megalol: Science Fantasy, it is just what it says it is

People wanted something to remind them of the good old days of Star Wars, so The Force Awakens was specifically tailored towards that audience. It was received as being an amazing movie, then all of sudden it began catching hate. Everyone jumped on the "its a rip off of Star Wars" bandwagon. Now that we have a Star Wars movie that tried to be somewhat unique (yes I know the similarities) people are moaning about it. Its almost if people wanted an Empire clone....so they could rave about it then hate on it. Was it perfect? Oh no way. The whole casino thing was a waste of time and did mess up the pacing a little bit. Captain Phasma was a joke. All the hype about her for the last 3 years and she shows for what 10 minutes, and dies kinda of easily. As we can see from comments above, some people will treat this movie as the spawn of satan. To that I say sorry the nostalgia and greatness of the OT will never leave. People will hate it and pick out reasons why its horrible, because the originals were perfect! Right? Right. This is the new trilogy, this is the way things will be, executives at Disney really do not care what we say they get their money. Its just business. The best things about this movie I thought was the characters. Kylo Ren & Rey were absolutely wonderful. Poe's transition throughout the movie was good too. I don't know how to feel about Luke. It was nice to go back to a Star Wars movie with decent characters. Far better than Rogue One, which character wise was below Phantom Menace. Rogue One had some awesome action and it was great for just that, the characters were an absolute joke and quite pathetic how they were handled. It was entertaining, I would definitely recommend everyone see. I can't wait to see it again. People will love it, people will hate. It will be this way for the next decade of Star Wars. Go see it and make your own opinions about it.

Wish they would spent more effort getting the over-delayed KC-46 into service, but nope. There's a reason KC-135 will be flying until 2040. Should be interested for the navy to get a dedicated tanker.

** F-14 Road to Release + Christmas Update!! **
frixon28 replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Thanks for being honest with what is actually going on. That's what I like in a company! -
My Northern friends think on the brightvside, your getting 18 F/A-18 pretty cheap! That will add a decent chunk to your fighter fleet.
-
Their still kicking, I have no source but I can assume that their just using them for weapon testing for the KA-52

Sad that it happened but that was over 60 years ago, its hard to say Canada would be able to develop their own 4th generations, more likely why would they? Why spend all the money when you can have license built mass produced fighters that your allies have already produced? 5th generation developed by Canada?? Really would they have spent all that money for 80 aircraft for what, pride over not joining a US/NATO program? Anyway this article is more specific. 18 more Legacy Hornets for Canada. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-canada-f18-boeing-20171212-story.html

Already been answered but it will be JHMCS. Scorpion I is only operational on A-10's and I believe just ANG F-16's

Widow Maker??? 4 crashes in the last 27 years??? 2 crashes in the last 17 years? For one of the most widely used aircraft in the USAF, amazingly still flying after decades of service? Over 50 years of continuous service, and crashes have gone done drastically in the last 25 years is pretty great for both pilots and MX folks alike. Service record in the cold war was pretty rough, but these aircraft were flown roughly. KC-135 is a great plane, especially since the KC-767 never seems to be replacing it...

"Bad Cats" Aggressor Tomcat's paintschemes please!
frixon28 replied to carss's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Sadly no more F15 aggressors...well in real life at least. Best thing in games is that we can go back 4 years and bam F-15's again! -
the most realistic A/G radar ever done for a game
frixon28 replied to rweaves6's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I was surprised when reading Dan Hampton's Viper Pilot to realize that while the technology has been around, TGP's weren't widespread even in Operation Iraq Freedom in 2003. The Iraq War was almost 15 years ago, and front line F-16 units did not have them readily available yet. For DCS I am sure interested to see A-G radar, I can see it being used more as a challenge in missions were we don't have TGP's.
