@ZabuzardHere are five tracks that hopefully help in some way. To me the problem occurs when I predesignate waypoints as IP and TGT in the ME. Without that predesignation, the speed callout loop bug does not appear. Please find three tracks witout designation and no bug, and two tracks with designation and bug appearing attached. (In one flight that I did not record it appeared to me as if when dropping bombs in pairs only and not in ripple the bug would also NOT show up, but I have to check this further.) ---Edit--- tracks removed, invalid

Ah, man... those were the days...

Short answer: I'd say go with a less complex era, try Cold War. Procedures and terminology are a little bit more straightforward there. Try the F-4 and Reflected's"MiG Killer campaign" for example, or the F-14 with the "Zone 5" campaign maybe (Disclaimer: I haven't flown neither of them yet, but the description and the videos I have seen tell me they might be good for that era.) Long answer: Flying military jets in a military scenario IS a demanding and complex thing, and you really do have to learn A LOT in order to do it in a full-blown scenario. You just can't jump into an F-16, read up a few things and then fly realistic CAS or OCA in a modern scenario. I do understand that some do not want to or cannot put in the time that is needed for that, but what I do not understand is that some people still want to play fighter pilot "the real deal" then and go for DCS that aims at being the most realistic and procedural military flight sim currently available (excluding one well-known, but aged and only really single-plane alternative) without putting in at least a bit of the efforts that real fighter pilots have to put in. There's a disconnect for me. Please don't take this aimed at you personally, it's just a general observation I have made over the past years. But still, there is light for you: If you want to keep going for modern, you now have found three aspects that you need to work on: Read up on the realistic F-16 checks, TGP employment and how to interpret a 9-Liner, then try it again. When you come to the next obstacle, read up on that, and so on and so forth. In the end, you will have aquired enough knowledge to competently fly modern missions in the F-16. It is a long process though, it doesn't happen over night, and yes, it is a lot of hard work. But it's worth the effort if you want to simulate being a fighter pilot as realistically as possible. There is not really an in-between here. And no, this doesn't equal joining the military to do this. Real military fighter pilots also have a lot of military stuff chores to do besides learning the flying, the procedures, the jet. We don't have to do that. Yes, we have our jobs, our family and everything else instead, and it's a fact that we do have less time to study the fighter pilot stuff than the real pilots, but: "You can [do] it if you really want. You must try, try and try, try and try. You'll succeed at last." The alternative would indeed be WT, and I'm writing this without any judgement! So, long story short: Try Cold War if you still wanna play "jet fighter pilot" realistically and need a slightly lower bar. I fly Cold War exclusively, and I love it.

I'm not very interested in the PFM, but if HB could take on the MiG-21s and create different variants like they do with the F-14 and the F-4, I'd be on board. I'm craving for a MiG-21MF though. But let's be realistic: They have the early Iranian F-14, the F-4 variants, the Eurofighter, the Intruder, and possibly the Draken on their plate. I wouldn't get too hopeful about HB adopting this idea within the next ten years.

I dearly hope so! It will be doing fine in good DCS Cold War scenarios against the F1, F-4, F-5. Now back to the MiG-23ML

1./JG71 "Richthofen" - Cold War, full-real [für deutsche Piloten]
Volator replied to Volator's topic in Jets Squadrons
BARON 11 is ready for start-up BARON 12 taxiing into Last Chance. Battle damage check on BARON 12 Zurück in Incirlik. -

I experience the opposite: I have Jester landing callouts deactivated, yet Jester still gives me the altitude callouts during landing.

@Chizh @BIGNEWY Nice to see you guys chiming in here. Can you elaborate on the quote by Kate? Some exciting news in the "2025 and beyond" video? Is it worthwhile to keep up hope for a MiG-23 in DCS? MiG-23 by ED?
-
Yes, very valid request!

I thought this issue had been solved by the latest update, but yesterday I experienced the same bug again in a custom loft training mission. The first flight was OK, but rerunning the mission two times the speed call bug was there again...
-
Oh man... can I have my old F-5E back with all the cool custom skins that were created for it? The "remastered" F-5 doesn't have any improvements simulation-wise. And no, I wasn't expecting any new radios or four Sidewinders or an effing refueling probe or MFDs, just a fix of the wings snapping or a a less nose-heavy take-off and landing or an old HGU-2 helmet would have been cool... I don't really need the new looks of the remastered one if I lose all the cool skins from the past.

1./JG71 "Richthofen" - Cold War, full-real [für deutsche Piloten]
Volator replied to Volator's topic in Jets Squadrons
BARON 1 Lining up for interval take-off. BARON 13 egressing northeast. -

You can fly it on Blue Flag 60. There are MiG-21s, but I don't think the Sabres are very disadvantaged there. Both fighters have their advantages and disadvantages, and I usually felt quite confident in the Sabre there.

Weapons and sometimes aircraft flicker or derender.
Volator replied to Biggus's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
I experience this bug a lot in the cockpit. -
At least fix the long-standing multiplayer ATC bug so we can have night missions again on Caucasus. Thank you.
-
It wasn't entirely intended as such. If you feel compelled to judge every post in this forum by your quoted standards above, you're gonna be busy for a while.
-
Just for that I already hate the Corsair (not even going into the "whole WWII is a giant mistake in DCS" thing)
-
Nobody said anything yet about which variant will be created. Heck, we don't even have a solid confirmation that a MiG-23 is coming to DCS in the foreseeable future. I wouldn't get too excited unless the MiG-23 is officially announced, so I don't want to start debating which variant ED should create. Let me just say this: I get it that some people always want the latest and best version of any plane, but I'd prefer a variant that was in widespread use instead. So ML(A) all the way!
-
Yes, I agree, and that's how I interpret the statement by Kate.
-
Ok, interesting. Hoping for news on that in the "2025 and beyond" video...
