[CORRECT AS IS] 20 mile ACM mode is hardlocked @ 10nm
probad replied to Csgo GE oh yeah's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
maybe manual is wrong? -
nobodys gonna stop you from using ap of course but the thing is the only person you're really hurting is yourself fine control of the aircraft is a skill that materially benefits combat, landings, you name it. if you never learn to control your aircraft, you will find yourself frustrated by the tyrannical elitism of reality at every turn, and you will bind yourself to the chains of your handicap aids. there is only one route to liberation and that is to conquer your weakness
-
also bobbing about half a mile from a guy doesnt count for 'i can fly formation'
-
power always affects altitude, anticipate it if you're talking about the drag from the probe rolling you then just trim it out
-
cant imagine this being anything other than an extraneous bind, maybe like accidentally adding tdc binds to headtracking or some other device

what has become apparent to me is that op has no intentions of actually entertaining rebuttals to his position, otherwise he would have been satisfied with the existing threads and official verdict that he already acknowledged the existence of. he has the search function at his disposal but he willingly chooses not to use it, because goddammit he wants his nuke! we're not the people who need to be convinced to give you a nuke deployment simulation, and this isn't something that can be voted into existence.

wake turb shouldnt be a factor, there is really no significant wake at refueling positions and right now we dont even have aero effects on drogues either. personally i think damped curves is a bad meme because the number one issue with newcomers to aar is grappling with input lag, and retarding inputs with curves only exacerbates it. if you're making a 'wild overcorrection' i bet it's not because your stick is too sensitive, but rather you don't know when to cease input -- so when the output actually arrives, you get way more than you wanted. pio develops when this effect successively manifests because the new pilot's input frequency is out of synch with the aircraft's output frequency. also dont forget throttle is an altitude controller. try treating aar like landing: power for altitude and pitch for speed, except you're flying a glideslope of 0 degrees.

DCS: Me 262 Discussion (Development on hold currently)
probad replied to NineLine's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
we're already flying unhistorically conditioned k-4s and that's not an issue so how are pristine 262s on every flight any more of an issue? dude just imagine the bug sections if servers were to actually run random failures hahahahaha -
i suspect the ai in the replays is not flying off of any script as one might expect but rather playing as itself again -- so it gets to revise its decisions for a different outcome
-
i wouldnt be too bent over about the gun, it seems a pretty deliberate design decision to discourage a2a gunfighting -- if you run out of missiles, go home to get more missiles. the jf-17's gun is angled down from the waterline which is more suitable for a2g use but is unsuitable for a2a since you have to pull more lead and exacerbates any plane misalignment this is honestly not a big deal as aerial gunfighting in a missile arena is a bad meme that will get you killed

gonna make sure i namedrop satal when i ask former fighterpilots brb

lmao what are you gonna do with that information? build your life around it? then fault ed for ruining your life when things don't go to plan? you think they're gonna give you ammo to shoot them back with? this obsession with roadmaps is frankly bizarre to me, its like some sort of addiction to a false security. yea, roadmaps are issued to promote a sense of security -- but imagine actually believing in them lmao just LMAO

a nuke simulation based on guesses is only going to pique more interest and result in more questions and digging from more people against the backdrop of nuclear non-proliferation, i dont think anyone who owns nukes is interested in offering any more knowledge on their employment than what is already made available you might only think it's a harmless game for yourself but for governments, it's a lot of noses poking where they don't belong. and while it's perfectly fine if you want to assume the risk of personal investigation, it's not so trivial for a business operation like eagle dynamics, not the least since they have relationships to maintain.

not listed in the controls atm you can edit luas yourself to add a bind else just set lever direction before takeoff and inflight prior to landing in anticipation of gear usage

Integrate USB Breathalyzer for High G Straining

quit junking up the thread i want my question answered how does a breathalyzer simulate g breathing techniques i am curious -
PLease add a fast refueling/rearming cheat
probad replied to NASA Pilot's topic in DCS Core Wish List
i think you're starting to hijack the op's request by moving goalposts to an sp focus the op as i understand it submitted the request with the implied expectation that his mp favorite server would implement it; and its probably one of the few public servers so it will affect a lot of the people who play mp. -

so how does that work with a breathalyzer? -

if this gets implemented im gonna hook this up to an air pump and be the most unbeatable pilot -

faster turnaround can have a tangible effect on match dynamics outside of airquake where you just lawndart into the ground to resortie faster. this can lead to issues beyond simple a2a fight frequency; it can upset missions when all sead flights can resortie at a higher rate for example. the impact of mission scrubbing incoming strikers gets marginalized as rearmament penalty gets reduced. everywhere you see the argument 'i want x because i don't have time for y' and they're all very personal whims, because everyone has their own areas of focus: some people aren't interested in navigation, some people aren't interested in startup, some people aren't interested in takeoffs and landings, some aren't interested in iffing, some aren't interested in radar operation, and so on. if we took a reductive attitude to just cut out everything anyone is ever is uninterested in, we won't be left with much in mp where everyone else also has to go along with it. why not just play ace combat? anyways i think at the individual level, turnaround times right now are already quite fast; aligning gyros takes more time. even if you saved 2 minutes with an instant rearm on the apron, it's not enough to generate you an entire extra sortie unless your play session is so long that you are making like what, 15+ sorties, and at that point your argument of 'not having enough time' really stops holding water. now i suspect the real reason you dont like waiting probably has nothing to do with actual time management and more with the fact you're just an action junkie but i think that's your own problem. -
its probably better left as is to serve as a reference for the inevitable dude that also bumps into a similar problem

Making DCS more accessible to new players.
probad replied to Vertigo72's topic in New User Briefing Room
oh its you again with another meme idea clones of you exist in every game community and this sequence has played out countless times each time culminating in things going downhill because you know who lowering the entry bar caters to? more bar lowerers. the slippery slope is a fallacy until it isn't. you're a subversive who seeks to promote the recruitment of more like you. you're repulsive to people who actually choose to invest, and exactly the reason they escape to high entry barrier games in the first place. i guess at least 'reforming dcs' keeps you off our streets 'reforming society' -
