pulling back on the stick for better braking...
JUICE-AWG replied to fitness88's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Hi Greg! Yes, and if you pull aft stick at over 120 KIAS, and have a light weapons/fuel load, you could get inadvertent nosewheel rotation. GB, is that the published speed? I go full stick back, full speed-brake, and raise the flaps to put more weight on wheels for anti-skid breaking once IAS stops registering at 48 kts. -
This is probably way overdue, but "THANK YOU!" for making this awesome program!

It says it's the LWin + A so meaning the Left Windows Key plus A...but have you tried binding it to a HOTAS button or other unused key? I'm not a fan of using the WIN key for anything as it has its primary function to bring up the windows menu. I have the TM Warthog and I bound the Left Throttle Over The Top Front Red Pinkie Button and works great.

Yep, save them to your saved games "My Missions" section. You can change the name, change AI units to CLIENT for multiplayer or just for yourself. Be cautious about using some of the really big missions in MP as some of your friends will get lagg from lots of units on the map...but you can delete some of them to make it more digestible. You can edit the IA ones and they will save in the IA menu, but after an ED update, you'll have to drag your backup files back into the main directory and they will simply update to what you want them to be. I have some edited IA missions that ED messed up, so I fixed them and each update I just do this simple backup trick that fixes all my game files. I show it in this video here starting at 9:37 time slot:

Sounds like a great mission. You could build it, test it, play it, fix it, and then upload it as a mission or even as part of a campaign in the User Files section!

In MP, the client to client view of strobe lights is still not operational in the F-16C. -
How do I hook up to catapult after landing on carrier
JUICE-AWG replied to Capn kamikaze's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
As of 29 Feb 2020, I landed on the Stennis, with the Hornet, and was able to hook up and disconnect from all four catapults! The Lights and COMMs are surely broken now! -
I have been getting this for about the last 4 updates in Open Beta but it only does it if I try to do other stuff while the game is loading...like Alt Tab to a different screen or type in Discord on a different monitor. If I I just let it load between startup and mission load screens, all is okay!

Your INS isn't in NAV or isn't aligned yet! Restart the mission and make sure you get alignment and are in NAV mode before taxi.

How do I hook up to catapult after landing on carrier
JUICE-AWG replied to Capn kamikaze's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
You have to be in the sweet spot range to the catapult with launch bar down and hit U to hook up...go F2 if needed until you get a visual reference from within the cockpit. Be in the dark zone behind the shuttle or within 2-3 feet of the zone and it should hook up. If you are at too far laterally left or right, or if you are too far back or forward of the shuttle area, it may not connect you. Remember to raise your launch bar switch in the cockpit before launching. It will stay connected and enjoy! -
After placing the unit, select Advanced (Waypoint Actions), click ADD, and select Perform Command, and set as Invisible. Let us know if that works!

Yes, Please, and give us an International Safety Orange smoke flare to mark our position for rescue...I spent two hours in Lake Mead the other day waiting for someone to find me. -

I personally like it when ED would release an update in OpenBeta about once a week, have to hotfix a few things, and we would give invaluable feedback on what was not working. I would like to see OpenBeta stay main stream with everyone realizing that it will have bugs and is not "Stable Build."

A better way to do that is to bracket the options by thousands of pounds of fuel...or in half thousands? "Panton 4-1, requesting 4K" Yeah, getting to to bounce off the receiver aircraft without registering as damage or a hit would be nice!

I did a mission with a Spitfire, landed where some P-51Ds just landed and even with the engines off and the pilots standing outside, the popping sound is still going...I can tell it's the exhaust pops from the Rolls Royce Merlin Engine...sound bite file error for sure!

Why isn't my TACAN pointing to the tanker?
JUICE-AWG replied to ZeroReady's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I use the frequencies in that F/A-18C TACAN Degraded and Unavailable channel list and they all work fine. Try starting at 37X for A/A Stations. JUICE -
Why isn't my TACAN pointing to the tanker?
JUICE-AWG replied to ZeroReady's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Harker, do you have a link to the original post or can we verify the source of this...I use it in mission building and it makes logical sense to me, but I'd like to know where it came from and if it is valid or speculation. Thanks! -
Run FCS BIT Test...when and why do you run it?
JUICE-AWG replied to fitness88's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
What he said! The RESET resets the FCS, but the Takeoff Trim RESET puts your basic T/O Trim at 12 degrees...and with flaps up, hold Y and hit the FCS BIT Test. Look outside and you'll see all the controls move during the test and you'll hear a sound alert when compete and status should be OK. I have had failures when I started Engine 1 first (Left) instead of the Right engine first. Reminder, you always takeoff with 12 degrees shore base but on the carrier with CAT, you adjust the degrees with trim input based upon total aircraft weight. You won't be able to do this until you lower the flaps to half which is the takeoff position. Hope this helped. -
So confused about Controller Bindings.
