Whats the difference between 500lbs MC and 500lbs GP bombs?
epoch replied to Kayos's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
Interesting document here (unclassified, from 1944) regarding all the different bombs we Brits used in WW2. From what I can understand from a brief skim of that doc is seems GP bombs were largely superseded by MC, but I may be wrong there. Lots of other interesting documents on that Wordpress site too. -
I guess we need a Mosquito FB VI CW ?

In WAGS' video on the IHADSS he does state in the description text "We plan VR option to project IHADSS video to your left eye, right, or both". I asked directly in the comments if this functionality will be available at release into early access. Unfortunately I and others asking this question just got a copy/paste reply from Wags to read the aforementioned text. Given that it doesn't actually answer the specific question I asked I further asked for clarity regarding early access. Unfortunately nobody on the team has seen fit to reply.

Yeah, seems it was exactly that. We started up again, with me in the front from cold, and it was fine. Seems this may be fixed in today's update: Fixed: SPO sound desync in multicrew.

DCS: Black Shark 2 by Eagle Dynamics Added the option to render the Ka-50 HMS in the left eye in the VR. Thank you very much for implementing this so quickly. It really does mean a lot that those of us with visual disabilities can enjoy DCS just as much as everyone else.

Hi I'm not sure this is a bug hence me posting in the general forum .. I hopped into the front seat of my buddy's Hind. There's a constant beeping that I simply cannot trace. It stops sometimes, but mostly it's on, and constant. And annoying! It's not the sight align/launch tone, which is slightly lower in pitch. Also, by buddy confirms that the RWR is off, so I don't think it's that. Any advice on what this could be would be appreciated. Not sure if relevant but the chopper was up and running when I hopped in.

Just installed this module on trial. Glad I found this post. Nice little jet, but with this bug I'll have to hold off purchasing. Hopefully they'll fix it.

No worries mate, we're all trying to help each other.
-
You're repeating exactly what I said earlier in the thread.

Not sure why you think I need any assistance! I'm fine thank you. I've worked in IT for over 30 years so I know my way around a computer, especially my own! My Z390 has a 12-pin TPM 2.0 header, for an optional TPM chip which can be bought separately if required. Some variants of the same board any by other vendors may already have the chip installed (and either enabled or disabled in UEFI). Some ASUS Z390 boards have one, some don't. There are several variants of the board. That said, the TPMs are now getting quite difficult to get hold of (or have rocketed in price) due to the Win11 announcement, which is why the on-CPU alternative is a great option.

Not sure what you're saying but I suspect you've misunderstood my post. But that's ok! Glad you have a TPM.

Ignore. I was overthinking it and worked it out.

Hi all How do I modify the VR preset? It seems any changes I make to it are reverted when I click away from the preset? Or must I modify the VR preset to my preference and save in one of the custom slots? In which case, how do I know which preset is active? And which preset is used when launching in VR? The VR preset ... or the last used? Apologies if this has been answered already. I did search, but nothing came up (or my search-fu is lacking).

Can't control ATGM - axis tuning recommendations?
epoch replied to epoch's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Yeah, my pilot buddy is a pretty smooth flier. Well, as much as he can be given the Hind's tendency to become a rocking horse. I've been getting more success using the mouse to steer the missile to target, so I'll stick with that and wait to see if the overall system becomes more stable during early access. -
I read an article a few days ago that stated that the 'Home' edition of Windows 11 will be forced to use an online Microsoft account. No local account available. This 'limitation' is unlikely on the Pro/Enterprise editions. This info is merely based on an article I read on my Google feed late last week, and the writer was using the leaked Windows 11, so take this with a pinch of salt until confirmed. It would fit in with Microsoft's desire to push their 365 platform more. Edit: here we go, confirmed.

I'm really struggling to keep control of the Shturm after launch. More often than not it impacts near the intended target, who then just kinda go "meh" and drive off. I've tried axis curves and saturation but I just can't get it good enough for fine control. I'm using the Warthog throttle slew axis, with Delta Sim's superb thumbstick upgrade. How are other's controlling the Shturm?

Regarding the requirements, some may have noticed that a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) is required for Windows 11. Consumer/gaming motherboards often don't have a TPM. My Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro doesn't have one (they can be bought separately if required). In fact, the Windows 11 requirement is causing high demand for TPMs. That said, if you have an Intel or AMD CPU from the past few years then you already should have a compatible TPM because it's bundled into the CPU. So anyone panicking that they don't have one, check your BIOS/UEFI as the technology may be present, but disabled. On Intel it's called PTT (Platform Trust Technology) and on AMD it's fTPM (firmware TPM). They may be disabled in your BIOS (mine was) but enabling it will reveal a TPM 2.0 chip which you'll be able to see in Windows Device Manager. Then you can download Microsoft's health check app to see if your system is compatible.

vaicompro.com Yup, thanks for checking. I just tried on my mobile connection and it's there. I'll switch my PC's DNS provider to see if that sorts it.

Hi all Is Vaicom no longer developed? I have a pro licence but haven't used it for a while. Figured I'd download the latest version, but I'm getting a 404 on the website. Have they closed down ?

Please add separate controls for the front seat
epoch replied to MIlleratic's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
+1 The controls are a bit of a mess right now but hopefully they tidy it up. And while they're at it, I hope they stop axes defaulting across all controllers. I struggle for find a scenario where I'd wish to control my pitch simultaneously with my rudder, throttle and joystick ... -
Since release I can't get the ATGM sight working in multicrew. I'm in the front seat, and I've done the following steps: Safety switches on Missile power on USR power on SCHO power on Guidance unit power on - wait for READNS Observ on - wait for L4 ... ... and that's where it fails. The L3 light blinks but the L4 light never illuminates. When I go into the sight (ALT-A) the it's unmoveable using any of the associated bindings. I'm not sure if this a bug, or whether I'm doing something wrong. Doubtful it's a 'later in early access' thing. Thanks in advance for any advice. EDIT: I think I might have found the issue. I've been mapping the slew in the Mi-24P Sim category. However, after watching a Grim Reapers video I see there's also a separate Aiming Station category, and the axes in there were mapped to stick, throttle and pedals. One of DCS' silly defaults that catch us out every time! The L4 light still doesn't light up but unsure if that's a bug or if the manual is incorrect.

What he said ^^^ Just received order #6365. Easy install and configuration and yup, it's a game changer for sure. Wish I'd saved myself a few years of frustration and ordered long ago! Thank you.
