  1. In FC2, if you have STT, then the 120 track the STT target all the way. Place a couple of aircraft in the mission editor, one ahead of the other by a few miles. Put yourself behind both, lock the lead target, fire a 120. The trailer never gets hit, unlees he is directly in the missle flight path.
  2. The DCS releases can be found under where you log in, the rectangle labelled 'Payments' For BS1 go to Download -> Previous Versions -> Proceed to Download (for the version you have) Yes, it is confusing for BS1!
  3. Avionics wise yes. Flight model wise between FC and DCS.
  4. Yup, not quite as detailed as DCS P-51D though. Been a few months since I loaded COD up, but what ever downfalls it may have, it has a lot greatness in it as well. No other WW2 sim I have played replicates historic battles over the English channel in such an immersive way. Gonna have to use up a lot of my crappy monthly internet allotment and get the update soon.
  5. You install Lockon first anywhere, then install FC3 anywhere separately. On first start of FC3 it will check that Lockon is installed and run. After the first run of FC3 you can delete Lockon. This is how it works with FC2, so the assumtion is FC3 will be the same. Lol. At least my knees are still clean :) I am excited as well. Of course I will be more excited when DCS:Su-27 and DCS:F-18 are announced :)
  6. Things change. All ED had to do was not announce anything at all, then announce the release the same day it was ready to release. This is exactly why ED do not want to announce anything, and just push out the release when it is ready, because people start complaining that something is not released. In the end, they will release it when it is ready. What do you want, for them to release something that is not ready? I understand Beta releases, but really, the idea is to release something that is ready to go normally. Why do you think that there is current silence about an estimated release? Because, if any estimate is given, and it does not happen, bang, complaints galore on the forum :) I bet we will not hear anything again about FC3 until the day it is released. Keep in mind, this not Electronic Arts with shareholders demanding a release date so revenue can be generated to satisfy stock holders. Then, if a date is looking like to slip, you throw cash at the problem. This is a small company trying to make money and doing something they love.
  7. Also trying to use a MS FF2. It seems with FF turned on in DCS, trim is not functioning properly at all. Elevator trim effects aileron, and aileron trim effects the elevator. If I turn off FF, then trim works fine. I know that back in FC trim never worked properly with FF on. Is this still true for the DCS P-51D? Did a search, no joy. Thanks
  8. Seriously, though I would think Flaming Cliffs means: Flaming - as in fire. As in a war zone that is on fire. Cliffs - as in the the cliffs in and around the Caucasus mountians where the sim takes place. Kinda of like saying Hills Of Fire.
  9. Went over this before. It is about a bunch of guys named Cliff :)
  10. What ever is in FC3, I will buy it so everything is availabe in DCS World. There is no denying it will be an improvement, and lots of work has gone in to it. In the end though, I wont be happy until there is a Western and Eastern DCS fast jet that is up to par with the awesome job ED did with A-10C. In due time, I know.
  11. Happy bday! Don't worry about drinking too much. You always sound drunk posting on the forum anyway :)
  12. No worries. Perhaps your wording was a bit off, or I took it wrong sorry. I agree though, a status update would be a good thing.
  13. No big deal. Your reaction is kind of why ED don't like to make full public announcements in the first place. If they under estimate, or the date slips, people start to get a little annoyed and post on the forums. I understand your concern, but in the end, taking the time to correct bugs, and maybe adding a new feature that was not planned will be worth it.
  14. No ground radar is currently modelled, so this is a very good question!
  15. Etherealn has hit the nail on the head. You can be way more deadly in the A10C than the A10A. Anyway, there will be no DCS fighters vs. FC3 fighters initially. Just DCS strikers versus FC3 fighters.
  16. I seem to recall that the reason for removing Crimea, was that it needed to be removed in order to save memory for the new area added in Georgia. Maybe a limitation of the engine that couldn't be worked around previously.
  17. Thanks for the info. I can't get BS2 to activate, so i guess ai will reinstall. Was just trying to avoid that. Uninstalling and reinstalling uses no activations right?
  18. Hello, I own BS1 and the BS2 upgrade. I installed DCS World and the BS2 module first, then installed BS1. Can I still activate BS2 in DSCW, or do I need to reinstall DCS World? Also, I have 0 BS1 activations left. Will I get 1 activation after 1 month automatically? Thanks for the help!
  19. Actually FC1 had Crimea in it.
  20. Awesome. Merci Dart!
  21. Just getting into the 1.2.1 update. Looks like a massive amount of work went it to it. Thank you very much! For the bandwidth challenged such as myself, it would be great ED if you could please display the size of updates before I download them. I pay an extreme amount per GB as I am in a rural area in Canada. Thanks for listening! BTW, from a fresh install of 1.2.1, anyone know the approximate size of updates as of Oct 09/12? Thanks
  22. So, after all those beers and many years later, maybe you could do 1 G now? I see. Just kidding. Excellent point about distribution.
  23. Even though I criticize, mostly about the wait for DCS Fighter while other modules are released, make no mistake, I am one of ED’s biggest fans. I appreciate all the hard work by ED and the testers. What we have so far is awesome and will only get better. Thanks again ED.
  24. Here is the 2nd one :) Huey is coming, but we have no DCS fighter jet. Yay! Sarcasm mode off. I bet though that ED already had this in progress for possible a military contract, so they release it. Obviously, either way, a lot less work than a complicated DCS Jet fighter. Sill, everytime ED work on something ahead of the DCS fighter, it feels like a punch in the gut to those of waiting for a A2A jet.
