calibrating an X52 ???
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to ScEBlack1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have to agree it's automatic, never tried to do it manually with mine though...... -
x52 Throttle for Collective?
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to SeaFoam's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ouch! LOL, I remember when I had these moments too! -
TrackIR buttons
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Prophet4no1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I assign these to the front HAT switch to my X-52 throttle. Since I started using TIR4 years ago I've learned that HAT switches provide tons of extra commands when not used for view selection! -

Thanks, my way of modding since I lack the skills and access to high end tools that others do! -
Yes unless I understand differently the only difference is avionics right?

Quick tip for X52 owners

Uh we're still talking about Joysticks here right? The kind that you use with PC flight sims? -
Watch those fingers now! Good luck, nothing like getting new power tools especially when the plan is to build a cockpit simulator!

Your pit is going to be amazing Rocketeer if anything just being based on the A10C!

Could possibly be a patch in the works for when LO FC 2.0 comes out. Purely speculating though.

Create a "Modern" Black Shark Pit
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to walker450's topic in Home Cockpits
You picked a great example with Grizzly's pit, I'm always amazed at the attention to detail he's shown. I think the answer is yes in the short term. you could emulate his design and use Touch Screens for displays and switches. I guess the "HOW" is the devil in the details and where I can't help lol! -
The Landing gear box on the above site is cool but $925? And it doesn't even mention if its USB or not?

Yes on the computer but I don't want my wife posting craigslist ads selling herself for ingame gold! ROFL! Hell she gets her own PC just so mine stays untouched! You'd be amazed all the problems face-book and Myspace cause my simming computer! Great set up Talisman hope you enjoy flying it after all the work that goes into it!

Quick tip for X52 owners
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Prophet4no1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Its a known issue, mine works other than its jittery in a few spots, doubt Saitek will send you a replacement part or even fix it. -
Quick tip for X52 owners
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Prophet4no1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Sorry will try this as I my X-52 is a little sticky sometimes. The slider isn't bad just that twitchy slide pot that causes in game zoom issues (can always be solved by moving the slider a bit in either direction). -
Walker you might look at the route I'm going, I play roughly the same sims as you do and I'm going for a multi function pit. Right now I just have generic set-up of what I will eventually do in larger form (one project I'm getting closer to starting). Best advice I can give is set something up that you can fly right now so you're not trapped in the planning/building/can't fly it yet stage! Here's a link to my generic set up using mostly off the shelf controllers and a couple home built contraptions. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2217250/1/Joystick_Hack_and_More.html That thread also covers my progress here and there when I had a camera to capture it!

You know thats what server passwords are for. And don't tell us you want it open so people can join. You can't have the best of both worlds: no noobs/good pilots. If flying with people who know their stuff is so important to you then organize flights with people you know. Hell I've practiced quite a bit and done homework and still have moments of pure noobness! But having an open server doesn't help and like Viper above lots of people just jump into this online from the start myself included. Even when I play by myself I usually do so in my own server online.

Saitek Aviator 01
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Vekkinho's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I picked one up a while back and I'm completely happy with it and its performance, although I use mine a bit differently. I modded mine so only the pitch axis could be moved and use it as a collective controller in Black Shark (a mod that anyone could do for about $5-10). Everything else is just extra buttons. Great stick for the asking price and great way to have an affordable collective controller without having to make your own or buy an expensive controller. See my thread here: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2712940/Re_A_Good_Joystick_to_Hack.html#Post2712940 -
LOL Still unpacking after two years! But I have all my cool stuff out, like GI Joe's and their respective parachutes (actually I use Star Wars figures for that)....................................... Great to hear you're getting settled, just received my first ever matrix board the XKeys 128 and I'm looking forward to learning how to wire it up or fire it up lol!

Simped Vario USB
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to GuntiNDDS's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have the Saitek rudder pedals and they are a great product. Never had any problems with sticking or jamming and I like the wider base for my simpit needs. CH makes a great set too but the big complaint has always seemed to be that they're too narrow. I don't think you can go wrong with the Saitek pedals, google reviews for them (there out there). -
^Thats it, an American show focusing on american pilots except for the few episodes that focused on the Isreali Airforce! Conspiracy? Probably not........:pilotfly: I would like to see something that focused on Japanese German and even Soviet pilots to start.

Fighter Ops doesn't release anything to the public thats interesting in my experience following the project. They have a special forum for special members that pay special $$$ for special updates. So we don't hear much besides general news every once in a while. That doesn't mean there is no progress just that we don't get to see it. Join the club and that changes, as well as supports the project! Jet Thunder like FO as Joey pointed out above are run by volunteer teams that work on the project in their spare time. For whatever reason we should support these teams in any way possible as we all know how thin flight sim offerings are these days. I can't imagine being a flight sim developer spending all this time and money and such a small piece of the software world pie. But I can appreciate and support their efforts which I do.

I like your style Rocketeer!
