  1. ED posted a list of weapons and sensors planned for the Hornet when it was first released. Why should they post dates, if they already said what is going to be included?
  2. My unserstanding is that slam has to be guided to the target manually (via DL), to reliably hit. The attached track show two missiles hit a helicopter (a rather small target), from maximum range in TOO mode, without guidence. Should it be that accurate? slam accuracy.trk
  3. I will try my best to produce a short track of this issue later today, but here's a description of it: Using the 'no tracers' rounds in MP, will cause the following: 1. I will not see tracers at all when I shoot the gun (which is correct) 2. Other players will see my rounds as tracer rounds (which is not correct)
  4. There are two modes, as described in NATOPS. 2.1.2 Automatic Throttle Control (ATC). The automatic throttle control is a two mode system that automatically maintains angle of attack (approach mode) or airspeed (cruise mode) by modulating engine thrust in the range of flight idle through military. 2.1.2.1 ATC Approach Mode. The ATC approach mode is engaged by pressing and releasing the ATC button on the left throttle with the FLAP switch in HALF or FULL and the trailing edge flaps extended at least 27°. When ATC is engaged in the approach mode, the flight control computer modulates engine thrust to maintain on-speed AOA. The computer uses inputs of AOA, normal load factor, stabilator position, pitch rate, and angle of bank to generate command signals. These signals drive the engine mounted throttle control units which in turn command the engine fuel controls. The computer uses AOA as the primary input to generate command signals. However, normal load factor provides increased stability, stabilator position provides increased or decreased thrust for pilot induced pitch changes, pitch rate provides lead during pitch maneuvers, and bank angle provides additional thrust during banking maneuvers. Normal disengagement is accomplished by pressing the ATC button or applying and holding force to either throttle. 2.1.2.2 ATC Cruise Mode. The ATC cruise mode is engaged by pressing and releasing the ATC button on the left throttle with the FLAP switch in AUTO. When ATC is engaged in the cruise mode, the existing airspeed is used by the flight control computer to modulate engine thrust to maintain this existing airspeed. The existing airspeed is the airspeed being sent from the ADC to the flight control computers via the mission computers. An ADC failure inhibits the ATC cruise mode of operation. The FCC uses true airspeed from ADC via the mission computers at the time of engagement to generate a command signal. This signal is then used as a reference to generate an error signal that drives the engine mounted throttle control units. Normal disengagement is accomplished by pressing the ATC button or applying and holding force to either throttle.
  5. See Curly's comment above. Two modes.
  6. The regular SLAM, which is in the game, is accurate enough without any DL pod. It shouldn't be that accurate, but that inaccuracy is not modelles properly imo.
  7. ATC has two modes afaik. Cruise is implemented , while PA (the one you use to land) is not implemented properly.
  8. As it turns out, at least for SP missions (for me), if you use slam on a precise WP, it will most likely hit without any intervention.
  9. Who is complaining? I'm providing useful feedback for an early access product.
  10. Dear Maestro, Thank you and the team for your hard work. At this timestamp (3:18) ,however, you are flying over a wind farm that does not exist. Israeli wind farms in your map should be located in very specific areas in the Golan heights and near Tiberias. ,
  11. I was wondering about launch points, since ED never mentioned those. Do you think it will be implemented?
  12. This will also cause all sort of abnormalities with TOT, WPDSG and so on.
  13. Hi guys, I just wanted to report that this bug: Has now returned. You can use the following links and tracks attached to them to recreate this. Essentially, the plane is pushing the WP's icon away from it's original position. Additionally, The heading needle is moving the waypoints away from the sequence as you fly overhead.
  14. Give them 5-8 years It will make it to DCS eventually, one way or another. The Legacy hornet was released for DCS not too long ago, so it's just unrealistic for ED to unvail the Super out of nowhere.
  15. Are you sure the default round in not SAPHEI already? Anyways- this was taken in 2006, and the plane was loaded with 500 SAPHEI rounds (the writing is lcoated right and slightly down from the 411 number on the nose), so I think we should have the option.
  16. You don't have to practice that much, you just have to practice the right thing, which is formation flying.
  17. You are missing the point. You have been playing music for 35 years. You can master pieces that are harder to play because you have the experience and because you keep practicing. OP hasn't seriously oracticed AAR. OP is basically asking you to build him a self playing guitar for him to hold during his gigs.
  18. Here's a track showing it in action. It's a two waypoint sqeuence, so you can speed it up. You will notice that hitting WPDSG changes the required speed presented by the HSI (in this case by 5 knots). It seems that without pressing WPDSG on time, you will not get accurate information in your last leg. I'm not sure why WPDSG makes a difference here. wpdsg tot.trk
  19. Non- tracer rounds. You can easily see that: 1. It doesn't look good. 2. It doesn't look real. https://imgur.com/PFVQlCK https://imgur.com/kt77Ac8 https://imgur.com/hIuRu9l
  20. In this timestamp, you will see two strafes of pilots from VFA-83. The muzzle flash in those strafes is less noticable than in DCS (in DCS it sometimes even hides the lower portion of the HUD). I think the smoke is fine, but the muzzle flash in DCS at the moment is too excessive. Can it be toned down?
  21. Not intentional, but PB logic was shown by Bignewy today.
  22. Well, since it wasn't a thing is real life I don't see why it should make it into DCS.
  23. Depends. Does DCS have a Super Hornet? Because legacy Hornets were never used as tankers.
  24. To be implemented at a later date.
  25. Gonna have to be blunt here. A2A refueling in DCS is easy. It's easier than getting a good grade from the LSO, and defenitely easier than case III in bad visibility conditions. You shouldn't ask the developers to add what essentially is a cheat code, just so you can accomplish something that isn't mandatory at all. Also, where's the fun in doing aerial refueling only with the assistance of the game itself? Some thought after reading your post: 1. You didn't practice enough, or didn't really practice at all. It's not as rewarding as getting a bomb on target, so people neglect that or quit in frustration and shoot the tanker down. You seem to think that if you can land on the aircraft carrier in DCS, everything else should be easy. It's not the case. 2. Not everyone tries to avoid refueling.. I do it every chance I get. It becomes a very simple task after a while. 3. Can you honestly say that you can reliably do formation flying? Because AAR is formation flying, and most people I've met who can't AAR, usually don't do well when it comes to formation flying in MP.
