Could the lower FPS after 2.5.6, be because of windows version 1909?
Quadg replied to GVO's topic in Virtual Reality
try terrain textures low in VR. i don't notice a difference visually and it really helps with VRAM usage and latency. my 1080 has more than enough VRAM. but only using half of it really speeds up VR performance. -
why build war machines when you can build death factories? more efficient.. and very nazi :) war is politics by other means.

i wasnt thinking "get good", i was actually thinking about the 1994 fairchild airforce base b-52 crash.. the story of what happens when you ignore limits and warnings. it fundamentally changed the US Air force.

ground textures to low seems to work. in VR i cannot tell the difference. and i have turned dynamic cockpit shadows on for the first time in ages and it seems to be working well. which goes with the new lighting. i Have the new reflections setting off. gamma 1.5 its running and looking pretty good in the whirly birds.

making your fellow crewmen scream is not a good idea. it means you are doing stuff wrong. try learning to not scare them :) you can achieve everything without hearing him shout once. even quick drop offs under fire. just take the voice as another cockpit warning sound. and avoid the conditions that set it off. if you are entering VRS often enough that you need to delete the sound then you need to change your entire approach. because its dangerous and wrong. even if it works in the game. its a bad habit. and bad habits always kill you in the end.

Quadg - UH-1H will be interesting to see if the mini guns can even hurt the KA-50 now.

air attacks would also make inexperienced crews abandon their vehicles. only to get killed outside. it takes veterans to stay with the vehicle while aircraft are trying to bomb it. most people instinctively want to get as far away from it as soon as possible. like the french rout at sedan in the battle of France. the stuka actually killed very few troops. but they made thousands abandon their bunkers and trenches.

you have to click on the ends of the buttons and not their base. that works until they change the hit box.

press the numlock key. whenever rcrtl and num 1 does not work. i press numlock and the rctrl num 1 and it works. ignore the numlock light..

elementLT has some single player missions. try his farp Hollywood missions. i think there are 5 of them. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3302061/ thats a link to the first. just search by author for elementLT

i think its been happening for a while. people have been commenting on random russian being shouted in the huey. never heard it myself.

it seems nimble until you fly it against the gazelle in guns only air combat. then all of a sudden it feels like a bus..

the accidental reveal didn't last long :)

the hud numbers are kind of small at default zoom in VR. i find myself referencing the gauges instead of the hud. especially as you need the sun shade up to see the hud on a bright day.

i have only flown the ka-50 in VR and putting on the new cockpit for the first time was rather strange. all the proportions have changed slightly. going to take some getting used too. but on the whole i like it a lot. i am definetly going to spend more time in the beast so thanks ED.

it says the 21st so we getting the ka-50 cockpit tomorrow?

if you do not want to break your neck to check your six in VR
Quadg replied to lefuneste01's topic in Virtual Reality
if you combine the fighter pilots rule " never fly in a straight line for longer than 30 seconds" with the rule " check six every 30 seconds" then what you do is drop your wing and turn to check six every 30 seconds.. no sore neck. you are flying historically. and you can check beneath you as well.. fly zig zagging to check behind you in the same way you zig zag when taxiing to see in front of you... -
its probably the fact that the huey still has the old textures from before 2.5 all the older airframes will have issues. we need a new cockpit like the a10c and KA-50

okay. when you alt enter, move the mouse to the left side before alt entering back to full screen. so the mouse starts on the side it wont go too. that has worked three times in a row for me.
-
4k requires stupidly large textures.. its rapidly running into the law of diminishing returns. especially if you use VR.. the size outweighs their prettiness.. not worth the latency. just wait till 8k.. my first HD was 25mb :)

the point of the governor override is to allow the rotor RPM to increase beyond normal safe levels. so the inevitable onset of rotor droop will occur later. as you have more energy stored in the rotor/engine system at faster RPM. so with the collective down. release the governor switch and then watch the rotor RPM increase. when it starts getting fast. thats when you lift and attempt takeoff. because of the over speed. you may have enough time to lift before droop occurs. the system wont destroy itself because the droop is inevitable. it will govern the system. the only danger is over speeding before you pull collective. you can also leave the governor on and use the increase Rotor RPM switch on the collective. to increase the RPM but you cannot go as high this way. what is a safe over speed? a good philosophical question :)

had this problem. pressing alt enter again twice fixed it. you don't need to restart. just exit and re enter full screen.

What's the best anti torque pedals for a heli sim these days?
Quadg replied to d0ppler's topic in DCS: UH-1H
MFG crosswinds are good for jumping between helicopters and jets. because you can easily unhook the spring to fly springless for helicopters. then re hook for fixed wing. they are also nice and wide apart for good control.
