Given what UGRA have been doing in and around the Channel area for a long time now, it seems a bit odd that ED chose to do that area at all. Should've left it to UGRA to incorporate into Normandy and concentrate on another untouched area.

I'm afraid I have to disagree. UGRA's customer service is appalling and there are many issues with the Syria map just lying around unresolved despite user pressure. It's been well over a year since we had a - long promised by UGRA - update on that map. They still haven't got the kneeboard working in Syria, for goodness sake!

Ah OK, so the detailed areas are different. Got it. I presume this was a decision made so as not to affect The Channel map sales potential. I mean if you look at the 2 detailed areas, it just looks a bit weird that the Channel Map area is missing from N2. I guess it would be complicated with the different parties involved, but what are the chances of having a merge of these 2 maps, which would make perfect sense? Sure, but I guess I was meaning future development. However, I didn't realise that the detailed areas were different.

So with the release of Normandy 2, is there any point in the Channel map? Does it have a future function any more? I'm sure there is a thread on this but I couldn't find it.

No too many, actually. Seems the same as the old Normandy map, so for Spitfire there just the usual cold start, on the runway, free flight and dogfight ones. Very few quick start for WWII planes. Disappointing really.

Give my method a try. It's very efficient and saves you virtual buttons.

You will have to define axis to buttons for this. I do the same. See the attached for how mine are set up. You then have to add logical buttons to these in the button tab.

Works perfectly in Win 11 for me over the last 2 years.

I'm interested in why there are so many differences between the RWR charts and others available. Same threats but different symbols, some missing from both lists etc. Examples attached.

I believe IL2 will not work because it doesn’t have separate axis binds and it will detect the buttons first. I don’t use IL2, but that’s my theory!

All looks Ok except for the step value of 400. With it set to that, you'd need 150 activations to make a full turn! Values of 3000 or 6000 are more common. however, that doesn't solve your issue. Are you sure you are selecting the axis from the drop down in DCS as per my attachment? It won't detect virtual axis by moving them like normal axes.

On your thread on the same subject in the Virpil forum, i asked you this: 'do the axes - not the encoder buttons - show OK in JoyTester? In DCS, you have to manually select it from the axis drop down menu. I think they are joy_slider_1 and 2.' Do they show OK in JoyTester? Please post a screenshot of one of your virtual axis tabs and your button tab showing the same as @splash above.

To be honest, I personally don't think that is well explained at all. Firstly, he's giving confusing advice. There is no 'no 5 way modifier' for the CP2, so that whole section is misleading. Secondly, the method he is using is pretty messy and uses up all the shift modes. He also doesn't even seem to achieve the landing gear going red when up and green when down.

Can someone remind me how to get the mod version number to show up? I thought it was taken from a VERSION.TXT file, but obviously not. Thanks. EDIT: It's OK, I found the info on page 2.

Just assign 'Make Screenshot' in Controls>UI Layer to a button on your HOTAS.
