  1. If that’s the case, a simple “invert axis” should fix it...when I get back in, I’ll check that out.
  2. I’ll look into the setup program for the pedals (CH Pro).
  3. +1 for Vietnam server/DCS
  4. So there I was, happily taxiing along when I felt the need to slow down a skosh...applied toe brakes and pulled throttle to idle. The plane stopped hard, just like I was pressing solidly on the “w” key. That was odd, as I thought the toe brakes were calibrated... I pressed the “w” key just to reset the brakes (?), went into options and the brakes were centered in the cal window. However, when I just touch the the toe brakes the dots immediately move to the left side, and as I press more on the brakes they move to the right side. Ok, so I get back in the cockpit and start taxiing...touch the toes and the SU27 immediately stops. Knowing the dots are to the far left (within the cal window), and that the brakes are “off” when the dots are centered, I applied about half pedals and the plane starts moving! If I go full brakes, the plane stops. Letting off the brakes halfway, the plane moves again (I can taxi and takeoff with the pedals halfway)... The braking system can be reset in-cockpit by releasing toe brakes and then pressing “w” (plane will again move) Tl;dr = toe brakes immediately go full on when touched, at 1/2 pressure the brakes are “off”, at full pressure brakes are full on. System can be reset by pressing “w”. Suggestions?
  5. A keyboard uses a simple matrix...mine is an 8 x 18 arrangement. The red group are pins 1-8, and the blue group are pins 9-26. All key commands involve two connectors, one from each group. For example, to make the letter "a" would require pin 1 and pin 9 would be connected. Pin 1 has a wire, and pin 9 has a wire. connect the two wires with a switch, and then locate the switch at the proper location. The letter "g" ("landing gear") is connected to pin 3 and pin 22....again, each has a wire, both of which are connected to a switch (perhaps actuated by a large lever) and so the gear has an actual lever to raise and lower. Yes, the secondary keyboard (modified for integration with a wired cockpit) is a duplicate of the actual keyboard, but it allows a switchable real-world cockpit, as simple or as complex as you want it. Money saving tip for the day: You don't need a new keyboard, a $3 one from a thrift store works just fine.
  6. Lots of ways, using metal or plastic boxes, wood, or DIY:
  7. The secret to learning any aircraft's difficult stuff is to use "Immortal" mode. Also, I suggest starting in the air, and learn to land first.
  8. "You need permission." How about a link to hornet pits thread?
  9. It’s...PARTY TIME!! Pah-TAY! Par-TAY! :pilotfly: :pilotfly: Oh yeah, oh yeah!!
  10. I’d buy an add-on for the F-5E—>F-5N. Cold, hard cash on the barrel. I’d think others would too, and faster than I would.
  11. Here's an idea I've played with for a couple months...build a 1/72nd scale flight deck of a USN carrier! Although there are several different classes, they all have the same basic layout and size...roughly 1000' feet long and 250' wide. This would be a slab of wood (plywood or MDF) about 15' x 3'. I chose 1/72nd because you wouldn't need a mansion to display it, and 1/72 scale aircraft are cheap enough (and light enough) so that if it had to go on a wall it would be ok. Or a garage. Depending on which one was built, there could be a decent complement of Viet Nam era aircraft or modern F/A18s... Just a thought. For fun. :pilotfly:
  12. A4 is being finished up...:)
  13. Interesting video...
  14. If you zoom out a bit, you can see an overall view of the location.

  16. Seen on a YouTube video: If “womb” is pronounced “woom”... And if “tomb” is pronounced “toom”... Shouldn’t “bomb” be pronounced “boom”?
  17. Both of which was the result of my first attempt at the Cobra... I remember thinking briefly, “ How the heck did I get like this!?” Unfortunately I tried the Cobra at about 300 meters, so...like I said, my thoughts were brief and fleeting.
  18. Wow,that is very dark! (Vikr+Mercury training mission) It used to be that only the internal gun training was so dark, I notice now it's more pre-dawn. The Vikhr mission used to be a brighter night (with a full moon iirc) but now it's darker than dark! Although I could get an image on the Mercury by adjusting its point of aim, it didn't show up the tanks clearly at longer ranges.(I actually was able to locate them by using labels) My video settings are on the lower end of details. Eta: “pre”-dawn
  19. If I may request something rather obvious...”Please don’t do things like that.” :music_whistling: And asking a clarification: You say “...changes will be made as development progress...” Does this mean that when the change is made, controls will be unbound again?
  20. Grammer n**i *you’re **lower case “d” in “due” :smartass:
  21. Nice pirouette. Extremely low attitude is not healthy.
  22. Very cool video of a sneak attack and a rushed defense! ...I’m sure that’s not “the end” though...it’s not over until the furball is over...:)
  23. For myself, having someone representing ED asking us what problems we see and then saying what they’re doing about is very very important. In fact, I stopped playing another well-known flight sim just because the owner was a silent as a statue, except to occasionally berate the community. Just my thoughts, thx
  24. But the 3% that can use it will have fun navigating in a featureless void...as will the remaining 97% land-based aircraft who need to attack the Navy and do shipping raids. And helicopters doing ASW or rescue/recoveries... Heck, I’d pay $20, even though I’d rarely fly in it (my planes of choice are low-level bomb trucks)
  25. Show-and-tell, just like in elementary school. But with a LOT more zoom-zoom! :pilotfly:
