  1. Use terms like “full size”, “NOT mini” (all caps for the word “not”) or “7/16 mounting hole” as part of your search terms on auction and sales sites. That should weed out the minis.
  2. I tend to hoard skins, but generally only use a few. Would like to be able to have a skin assigned "by default" without having to go through the entire list of skins in the ME. I understand some missions use their own particular default skin, and that's fine. But for missions that aren't critical to be (insert country/unit here) I'd like one's personal fav to be already assigned. Maybe even able to mark skins as "fav'd" so they're always at the top of the list.
  3. Needs more cowbell. Skin request: purple cow with pmm (“professional mosey model”)
  4. I...I...I have tinglies in my Happy Place! Thanks for making the vid, the mod, and loaded CVA deck!
  5. Link to the museum? That sounds like a great vacation destination!
  6. It's possible that modern fighters would not have (and/or be able to use) advanced weapons. First thing to degrade in war is supply. The replenishment of weapons and repair assets is reduced, then eliminated. A plane might have to go with a reduced loadout, and after firing the one or two AMRAAMs it's down to a heater and a gun. EW can change rapidly as the war develops. The good ol' Mk I Eyeball would still work, subject to camouflage effectiveness of the hostiles. Personally I like the perpetual "what if" questions. Some details can be worked out and developed into a Mission, and if it's a curious situation it would be replayable. Just for fun. :pilotfly:
  7. Yup, I noticed that too. I was thinking it had to do with the thin air?
  8. If I understand this correctly, Mach is not properly used to measure velocity or acceleration. It signifies how close one is to "breaking" the sound barrier (the "incompressible flow"), or how far one has gone beyond the limit.
  9. There are iron-on sheets made, just make or take an image, use your computer to print it to the transfer sheet and hey presto you have a unofficial DCS item. Copyright laws are generally only about using something to make a dollar...so you couldn’t print a shirt and sell it. You could give it away as a gift. Make two or more to “give away” and that gets iffy.
  10. Very nice! I’m no expert on skins, but what I do to get close to aligning things is to paint a series of different brightly colored short+narrow stripes (think yellow-orange-neon green, repeat as necessary) along the edges to be mated. Separation of stripes depends on size of colored areas...do a couple areas, check the model viewer, you’ll see “ok, the dark green area’s edge is about 1/3rd between the second yellow+orange lines” (sometimes I’ll mark the locations on an edge of a paper, to record the exact proportions). Go back to the paint program, adjust colored area location aaccordingly and proceed to next colored edge. That’s as far as I got before being distracted by surface details (rivets, panel lines) which the SU25T template doesn’t have, so I’m making a template layer with them.
  11. Very comparable, imho. It really gets down to “see first, shoot first”.
  12. Love the video!
  13. Sort of like an Anime VR chat room...? I suggest adding a “Bar Room Brawl” option.
  14. $24K?! ‘MURICA!!!
  15. For legal reasons we cannot accept donations. We appreciate your kind words of support though! Pay It Forward, to the best of one’s ability: Encourage, teach, and be a good role model.
  16. For a “daft idea”, it turned out very well! For myself, I like the “industrial look.”
  17. I was flying the F5 tonight and noticed vapes when pulling hard g’s (flying level —>going vertical). Had never noticed them before, maybe try it out?
  18. For myself, it's a little distressing to eject over water and then drown. Automatically inflating a raft and having a flare gun in hand shouldn't take a HUGE amount of resources. The same programming can be used for all aircraft, with only minor decal changes. Heck, I'd pay $5 for that mod. More, if the author deemed it necessary for development. I don't know what would be needed for a CSAR integration.
  19. Good A-4E book I’m in the middle of reading a very good book about the A-4E and the Navy life that goes along with flying during Vietnam conflict. Rampant Raider (Stephen Gray) The first bit of the book is about flight training, with descriptions of flight schools, aircraft, etc. About halfway in the book Gray finds himself aboard the Bon Homme Richard and flying the A-4E. He does compare it to the C model, and currently I’m finding out about the AGM-45B and C missiles... Just wanted to pass this on to everyone, books are not dead yet! This one is definitely a keeper...too few pictures, but well written with a good index and very entertaining.
  20. Looking forward to it (the plane, but also the update when available) Thank you for your efforts.
  21. Skyraider pr0n incoming! Direct link, just scroll down to post 73. Sorta resembles the P-47...
  22. I've successfully done CCIP starting at 2500 meters...but the ground gets pretty close on pull up.
  23. This reminds me, take pictures BEFORE removing or disconnecting anything like springs, wires, etc. That way you’ll know what things looked like “from the factory.”
  24. If a nuke is stealth and it detonates...how would anyone know?
