  1. Sure, but this was not available on the 9.12A, was it?
  2. Feel free to watch Reflected’s video on the subject. Things are quite a bit more complicated than you seem to think they are.
  3. Ooooh I’m going to try this in the afternoon! Thanks!
  4. Sounds like a key feature to have on Day One of EA then, rather than “later during early access” (TM).
  5. I don't 8 years of flying in VR and I never had any use for a keyboard. It would just get in the way... It's what HOTAS and control panels are for. Just bind the few keys you actually need (ESC, SPACE, 1 and 2) and there's zero need for a keyboard. It's just like binding anything else, really...
  6. Shame: I'll pass on this campaign, then. I'm not going to buy a second keyboard, a mounting solution and drill holes in my wall just for this 1 campaign. I know about that option. As as said in my post, it is turned on and works just fine in all other missions/campaigns (including your own Mi-24 campaign).
  7. Hey, Lately I have noticed the download speed from the user files seems to be capped at 28-29Mb/s (megabit per second). This is not due to my connection: I double-checked my network adapter properties (which are correct), and speedtest.net gives me my usual 550Mb/s as advertised by my ISP. I cleared my dns cache a few times and winsock too, but still the speed is hard capped at 30mbps. Is there a way to fix that on my end that I don't know about? Thanks!

  9. For US-made helicopters it's standard procedure to hold the force trim release (or CD REL in this particular case) until the new position is reached and then let go. For Russian helicopters it is standard procedure to use short-presses to relieve tension while moving the cyclic. It goes beyond procedure in fact as the actual hardware / flight control system assumes that's how pilots fly the aircraft. In the Apache for example you'll get yourself into a lot of trouble if you don't do it that way. There are quite a few cockpit-view helicopter videos on youtube for example where you can clearly see how the pilots trim (I can recommend Mi-8 and Mi-17 videos on the subject). I personally prefer the Russian approach: I find it a lot more intuitive and easy to use - but that's just me.
  10. Some initial feedback after trying to start this campaign: - The manual mentions there will be a mission that requires the use of a keyboard for directing artillery. For VR-users especially those with simpits (such as myself) this is very cumbersome: you have to take off the headset, climb out of the pit, walk over to the pc, sit down and re-centre the view, use the keyboard, walk over to the simpit, sit down and put the headset on again (hoping you don't get a black screen or crash - which does happen), all while (I assume) being in-flight? I flew a Mi-8 campaign years and years ago where you also had to direct artillery using map markers and I don't remember that requiring a keyboard, as I don't have a keyboard in my simpit (I'm no ME wizard so don't ask me how - I just know it works without having to use a keyboard). - Please don't force tooltips on (this is a quit-moment for me as it is highly annoying to have that floating text everywhere); - Please don't force pilot models off. I have the Gameplay option "don't force mission options use mine" selected but somehow this doesn't work here
  11. I use both as well. Sure, being able to see what your hand is doing certainly helps, but after a while you get a sense of where everything is and can manipulate switches, knobs and levers blind just fine.
  12. Glad I can finally disable it.
  13. Well of course, he’s ‘playing’ DCS after all
  14. Indefinite "this" in reverse
  15. By ED as well in their upcoming MiG-29, so hopefully they'll port that over to every other module they have and will have :-)
  16. Why wouldn't they? The damper is optional, after all.
  17. No idea, as it’s not how I use them. What the name suggests: damping your inputs. And if you remove the spring and use the no-centre cam, it holds the position regardless of where in the travel range you put them - this makes flying helicopters a lot more realistic.
  18. Exactly. Reading skills are not exactly well developed for many people here on the forum
  19. Pedals are no meant to change heading in fixed-wing aircraft, only in helicopters and only in certain flight regimes at that.
  20. Because unofficial mods are - as the name suggests - unofficial.
  21. Yes I was wondering, because people seem to overcomplicate things. I just put it in the Saved Games\DCS\Missions\Campaigns\en folder, just like any other non-payware campaign
  22. There was probably a reason for the increasing focus on limiting collateral damage and development of systems such as Small Diameter Bomb.
