Maybe bit Late but i installed just new firmware to twcs and it got lot better. New drivers helped too, now there is option to set small deadzone in windows controller settings. New firmware made it much more accurate, i think that they add some flittering so spiking is gone.

Its dcs AI, i hope it will get fixed least in when 2.5 comes. Those AI pilots can still even fly plane right. Just try to set NOE flight and you see what i mean. AI is never perfect in any simulator but in this its just very,very bad. And its get me off from mission making (AND I LOVE MAKING MISSIONS IN DCS ) But lets wait :)

Just made some spotting tests , using A-10A instant action mission. Flying at 1500ft i can spot Tank's about 2-2.5 nm out from waypoint (target). PD 1.5 no Antialising , stock textures , high setting , hdr on. Mustangs textures are worse , with those i cant spot until about 1-1,5nm out. Bartek mod is almost same as stock. I spend 6h to make those test , msaa will mask far away Tank's fast. So least it is nogo for now and Stock ground textures are best if you like to see something in ground. My 3570 was runing in light oc , about 4.2 ghz , and gtx 660 first , in last months i used gtx970 until i sold it. But dcs has got more updates etc, and i have 1060gtx 6gbs now with my I3 6100 so it may explain lot. Anyway, now dcs runs really fast with my 2560x1440 monitor , but i use rift 99,9 % of time..rift performance is ok. But even quite big missions run fine, so im quite sure that fast single core/and fast memory is Number one thing for dcs , after that comes GPU .. CCRP wont be 100% accurate in real life with dumb bombs. Wind , etc.. will always drift bombs bit. I found CCRP be ultra accurate in most sim's , maybe because sim's wont model bomb aerodynamics enough. Sent when im drunk with my iphone near me :)

Least 2xAA is must , i hate shinmering and least in my tests even 2.0 PD wont be enough alone. I hope that dcs gets better VR support someday, in IL2BOS its near perfect , really good sharppen post prosessing filtter, dithering to get rid off color banding etc.. I like dcs more because jets so this is just friendly example what i mean with good VR support thing. I dont mean to make it dcs vs "any sim here" , those threads can stay in different forums. Bumb, i cancelled my 580 and got 1060 because i was in hurry. Runs lot faster than my ex 970, i even got PD up bit and shadows to use. Visual range high. Msaax2 and PD 1.5 , Looks really nice :) Sent when im drunk with my iphone near me :)
