+1 What sharpexb says I have only dual core (hyperthreading, so 4 virtual cores) skylake I3 6100 3,7ghz and it runs dcs even better than my ex I5 3570k. I think that my faster DDR4 ram also helps , because skylake cpus get boost from it better than old cpus. Just got 970 replaced, now i have 1060 6gb and im verry happy how great my system runs even arma 3 Mp missions. And dcs VR use is great too. So final word , you can get fast rig for dcs even budget. Before someone comes and says that i should have got I5 etc.. this was budget build soon as skylakes were in shops. Model Visibility Discussion Blaa , blaa and nobody remeber that AI super vision should fixed too... Tank's , planes all those react and see you in second. I dont care if i see 4 or 6nm , what maters is that AI wont "see" mee from 20nm out. Sent when im drunk with my iphone near me :)

Looks good! What kind gpu and cpu you have ?

I think that DCS options PD will add some Blur etc..when it downsamples bit like NVIDIA DSR (there is option to add Blur or softening) Debug tool just downsamples but wont soften edges etc.. thats why its more crisp. But i cant be sure, maybe someone (ed) knows better.

So finally got some money saved (2 little kids etc) to new gpu. My old 970gtx was runing out of VRam in VR use, dcs uses 4,5-5 easily when you put some PD and AA and AF. 1.5 version was runing okay 45-90fps but some bad fps drops always when Vram use got over 4GB's So i should get My shapire RX580 8gb pulse today or tomorrow, it depends how fast Finnish post system makes their work :D Any one else using RX580 oc models with VR ?

And set ground texture to low in options, less noise and "painted" details will help to get better contrast and targets wont blend so easily to ground with PD or AA :)

Dont use high PD or high levels of AA , 2xAA is all that i use , so i get rid off shimmering etc.. Try PD 1.2 Dont use texture mods or edit them = edit your high or ultra or extreme etc lua file and set noisemax to zero and you see how easy it is spot targets when terrain texture is not too detailed :)

Quick and dirty way to make this, just edit noisemax= set it near zero and here you go, just like flanker 1.5 back in 90's and now you see where those tanks are :D Maybe i tune bit noise back. Textures are nice to have afterall :D

Thats why i stay with 1.3 pd and 2xmsaa

Mustang's land textures zip file package So far these are my favorite (still waiting for textures made just for VR) Is it normal (in vr) that Ultra vis range feels bit short , i mean even big cities wont be visible until too close. Extreme is fine but hits fps hard. Stock High is quite spot on for vr users , so maybe i have corrupted files ? Stock/vanilla high looks better than ultra in this mod. Should i try to reinstall dcs ? Or can i use stock vis range files with this ? (i like these textures and trees are great in this mod) To make this short : Far cities wont be visible from far away :D

So i dont have skill to make these myself. I would like to get ground textures for VR use so : Clean look, almost zero painted detail in ground , we have 3D trees and buildings and grass anyway. clear and sharp look would help to spot Tank's etc.. Black spots, noise etc are not needed. If someone can make these for caucasus i would be more than happy , and so will be some of my VR user friends.
