    However, if we want to say things as they are, the F-15e radar was not made by a member of the original Razbam team but by a developer hired for the purpose, one who put a time bomb in the radar code because he did not trust his new employers and who was one of the first to abandon the ship after the dispute became public. Whether he will return to work for Razbam once the matter is resolved, if it ever is, no one knows.

    I would not say so about the eagle: m2000c and mig-19 are fully developed and may require just fixes, something ED could potentially do; the av-8b would have room for substantial upgrades (starting from THE MANUAL) even according to Razbam, which is impossible without them, but we can accept that it remains as it is being declared feature complete; on the contrary the f-15e is far from being finished or feature complete and it is unacceptable such an important model remains unfinished, nor it is realistically conceivable that ED can complete it, so a removal from sales and a refund for all is the only possible answer if this will be the outcome; maybe in the future another 3rd party dev or ED itself could develop a worthy f-15e. I would not call it a "quasi subscription model", but this makes sense: as time passes some older modules lower their sell rate as they start to get and feel too old compared to newer modules; that is the moment in which an upgrade sold at a small fee can boost up the sales and keep the module up to date. As far as I'm concerned I am completely in favour of this policy and I will buy all future updates of this type (I've also bought FC2024 even though I haven't flown for years with FC).

    Nevertheless you currently have the exact modules you have bought for the money, f-15e excluded (but refundable). I highly doubt they will remain fully functional in a year or two if the dispute won't be addressed (the bomb fuse problem speaks for itself), and even if it will be, what can Razbam do after two years of abandoned modules? But that's another matter.

    Da quando questa terza parte si è divisa da Heatblur, di là sono usciti l'f-14 e il phantom, qui solo il christen eagle. Evidentemente c'è un problema, ed è un peccato soprattutto per un modulo iconico come il mig-21.

    L'hanno fatto e va bene, gli serviva come banco di prova, lo posso capire; ne avranno venduti 4, ma ok, ci sta. Quello che non capisco è proporre un aggiornamento payware prima di rimettere mano al mig-21: sarà anche più semplice e rapido da fare, ma se lo compreranno solo quei 4 che già hanno il christen eagle (e forse manco quelli). Quanto sperano di guadagnare con sto coso? E nel frattempo per il tanto atteso upgrade del mig-21, che è richiesto a gran voce e per il quale la gente (a mio avviso) pagherebbe anche di più dei canonici 10 euro, tocca aspettare ancora. Davvero incomprensibile.

    Gli aggiornamenti fanno sempre piacere, ma un christen eagle "2" chi se lo dovrebbe comperare? Già quasi nessuno ha il christen eagle "1"! Rischia di essere lavoro sprecato. Già che i tempi di questa terza parte sono quelli che sono. Sarebbe forse il caso invece di lavorare su un mig-21 "2", quello sì che sarebbe un best-seller e se lo comprerebbero pressochè tutti!

    I had asked for clarification on this statement. I don't think it's "speculation and conspiracy", it's a statement by ED's own people. However, my message was deleted with the last cleanup. Is it possible to have a comment on this? A simple "no" is acceptable as an answer, as long as it is shared and not covered up. Thank you.

    I've bought FC2024. Even if not interested in the product itself (I already have FC3 and all the FF versions of the new FC2024 planes) I am a supporter of the small-payware-upgrades policy, and so I want to support such policy. But I have two small bugs: 1) new FC planes are correctly installed, but in the new launcher I have an icon for 6 new modules available in the files section; the list of available modules is empty since all is already installed, but a red dot icon with a 6 on it still persists; 2) even if FC2024 is already installed, in the module manager inside the game I have a notification for a product to install, and it is FC3. If I confirm, the game quits, the installation manager runs, then the game starts again but I still have the same module manager notification to install FC3. A repair does not correct these two bugs.

    Beh riassumendo in effetti si può anche dire così: DCS ha un problema con i problemi! E' una immensa raccolta di problemi, dove ad ogni update, per ogni problema risolto ce ne sono almeno altri 4 o 5 nuovi. E' così da anni e anni. Spesso sono problemi minori e che non impediscono di godere appieno del prodotto nel suo complesso, ciò non toglie che se uno prende un modulo (uno qualsiasi) e comincia ad andare a fondo nelle minuzie (in fondo DCS è principalmente un simulatore study-level, quindi andare a fondo nelle minuzie dovrebbe essere il suo modo d'uso principale) qualche problema, piccolo o grande, salta sempre fuori e alla lunga questo può dare sui nervi (a me innegabilmente lo dà). Per cui sì: DCS ha un problema con i problemi! E' in assoluto, a mio avviso, il più grande limite di questo peraltro bellissimo simulatore.

    My suggestion is to wait. For sure wait at least for any Razbam's product. It could be a long wait, but you can't be sure of anything unless the dispute comes to an end (whatever it will be).

    This is not an official RB statement as far as I know, just internet chatter. If ED believes to be on credit from RB for IP matters, whatever it is, they're (hypothetically) entitled to retain what is owed. If, on the other hand, RB believes it owes nothing, from their point of view they're working for free. Undoubtedly. However, the first to unleash this mess in public were those of RB, I hope they now realize the enormous damage they have done to themselves and to the whole shack.

    I know. What I meant is you cannot simply "pay razbam while the dispute is settled, so they can go back to work" as suggested; if ED could maybe there would be no dispute at all. Both ED's actions and RB's actions are part of the dispute itself, as I understand it. Very carefully. That's the reason why I think the solution can't be simply "pay RB, so we have our modules back and then you manage your problems on your behalf, without annoying us customers", as someone suggested.

    Magari fossero solo rivetti. Che DCS abbia un problema coi bugs è cosa nota praticamente da quando DCS esiste. E' forse il difetto più grave che affligge questo simulatore.

    A leggere la newsletter sembrerebbe che stiano provando sigolarmente ogni modulo prima dell'uscita dell'update, altrimenti non avrebbero notato bugs su moduli vecchi e non certo sulla cresta dell'onda come f-5 e viggen. Questo fa ben sperare, perché ai tempi del bug con le texture mancanti agli strumenti dell'l-39 sicuramente non testavano ogni singolo modulo. Se la mia ipotesi è giusta, bene così. Se invece è solo la mia immaginazione, come non detto...

    Io parlavo di modelli di volo in generale; se ti riferisci ai mezzi militari sono d'accordo con te, di là ci sono solo moduli piuttosto "arcade". D'altra parte in quell'ambiente i sistemi d'arme credo non possano proprio essere simulati.

    A dire il vero lo paghi di meno. Questo è l'unico simulatore (forse l'unico software in senso lato) nel quale i prodotti in early access costano di più di quelli ormai finiti, maturi, feature complete. È indubbio che tutto sto hype sulla roba nuova, poi lasciata a metà per anni mentre si continua a produrre e vendere roba nuova ma a sua volta incompleta, a volte abbia un deciso retrogusto di schema Ponzi. Poi molti moduli sono belli e la simulazione è accurata, e su questo non si può dir nulla. Infine certi paragoni coi "moduli di default" di un certo simulatore civile lasciano il tempo che trovano: se si vuole l'accuratezza la si trova anche di là, certo bisogna sapere a quali terze parti rivolgersi.
