Same here...

No, I mean before you do anything else in the cockpit. So, all is switched off, no electrics, nothing. Can you physically see the throttles moving forward and back in the cockpit?
-
Okay, so after you cycle the throttles through their range once, and pull them back into the cut-off. Can you then repeatably put them to idle and cut-off and visa versa without fault?
-
Are you using auto-start? Or are you doing the start yourself? Sounds like either you, the auto-start sequence, or a controller spike is causing an engine to be motoring prematurely. As said above, the APU needs to be fully spooled up before an attempt can be made to start an engine. If the APU isn't on full-steam, it'll never be succesfull as you've noticed.
-
This sounds like an old DCS issue where you have to cycle your controls their entire range before the idle-cut off is registered properly. Try this: After getting into the aircraft, pull your throttles out of the cut-off, and cycle through their range and pull them back into the cut-off. Then try again.

Yes temperature can definitely have this effect. The aircraft not only has rotor anti-ice, it also has engine anti-ice. The switch is right next to it. It's a switch combined with the inlet anti-dust "filters". To be sure you can zip the trackfile and post it here.

This - exactly!!! It's kind of a touchy subject... It's a niche market, including complicated software development. Getting the skilled staff to do this is tricky, I imagine. In an ideal world, for me, it would seem that you'd need a crew to (only) work on the core simulator. I.e., weather, core flight dynamics (if this is tied into that), AI, ATC, ..., a crew working on maps (free(?), and paid for DLC) and crew(s) working on the various modules. The tricky part is off course as Yurgon says: all the stuff evolves, stuff gets broken, things change. Who is going back to change the module which was released years ago and update it? Who's going to pay for it? Did the customer pay for it when they bought it so many years ago? Case in point is the Black Shark. BS2 can out years ago, and has received not that many updates, while there is stuff not working correctly or broken. It is good that ED is working on it (i.e., updates and a new cockpit), and I applaud that vigorously, but it's obviously not on a high-priority. Is it because it's a "free-be" from ED? Is releasing more modules more important? Are they short on resources? I simply don't know, and we'll never know I guess. Would I pay for (large) updates to already existing modules? HELL YEAH. Black Shark 3? Updated models, cockpit, avionics, etc.? I would buy that in a heartbeat. I've spent a ridiculous amount of hours in the Ka-50 and it is my first love into serious flight simming. Given how much it cost me, money-wise, it was/is an absolute steal. Would I pay a monthly subscription for usage of DCS:World? Hmm.. maybe. It would depend. Would that mean that updates (to the core sim and modules) come quicker and more frequently than it does now? If so, I would gladly do so.

This. It works quite well by setting curves, but you end up with slightly curved output.

Yes It's up to your discretion. If you want/need to preserve electric power, hook up ground power.

HAPPY 10th YEAR ANNIVERSARY BLACK SHARK!
MTFDarkEagle replied to BaD CrC's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Happy birthday to the Black Shark! This was my first introduction to serious flight simulation. Started flying LOMAC and Flaming Cliffs well before BS was out. I saw a video from Glowing Amraam about some strange Russian helicopter... This one: I wanted to fly something like that... I wanted to be able to fly it as well as in that video.. Then BS came out. Oh my god did I struggle... But it captured me in ways I couldn't imagine. It sucked me into the depths of serious flight simulation and I spent hours and hours flying the damn thing. Then the A-10C came, and it's incompatibility in MP was an issue. Roll on DCS World, and (online) compatibility with FC, A-10C, and the KA-50. My wet dreams were coming true. Flying online with my squad in multiple aircraft. Tonight in its honour I'll give the Shark a good run-out :) -
Slow target = easy target ;)

DCS WORLD | 2018 AND BEYOND

Holy hell GA... You've outdone yourself with this one... LOVE THIS VIDEO... I watched it over and over... Very well put together, and the choice of music is superb!! -
SPEED!! This is the key when fighting in pretty much any delta wing. It can turn very, very tightly, but will lose a shitload of airspeed in the process. You can use this off course, when the oppertunity arrises, but as you can imagine it has it's risks. Keep you airspeed up, make use of it's power to weight ratio. Strap as few a missiles on-board as you dare. As has been said, doubling up on a pylon significantly increases drag.

Did you guys check the date of this thread? ;)

Yes, works exactly the same

What in the #$!* am I doing wrong!?
MTFDarkEagle replied to ironroad's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Well, that's kind of the idea of force sensitive controls (one of the ideas anyway). The danger/downside (if you can call it that...) is that you have to be careful as it's really easy to go from 0-to-100% control input. This is fundamentally different from a deflection based input (obviously). -

This. You seem to "overwant" the aircraft. Ease up on the stick, watch your AOA and airspeed. Jamming the stick full back will only give you what it's giving: no speed, ever decreasing altitude and no maneuverability. So, relax and let the lift do it's thing :) -
Plugging my own thread :D Take a look here for a starting point: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=182299 It is axis tuning. There is no dedicated A/B detent function like BMS. Would LOVE that feature, but it is what it is...
-
This. But, why would you want to? Changing it over takes 30 seconds? I have set curves for aircraft with A/B so the detent matches the ignition point of the A/B. When I'm chaning from A/B aircraft to non-A/B aircraft, I just swap the detent.

Rudder pedals recommendation/advice
MTFDarkEagle replied to Phil73805's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Saitek has been brought under the roof of Logitech recently. And since that time only the "cessna" style pedals are being made, the combat style pedals are discontinued unfortunately. -
I use quadraphonic audio :) Works perfectly. Simply put, I've got two 2.1 audio sets. One for front, one for rear. So 4.2 effectively :pilotfly: :D

I've been using the Saitek Combat pedals for years and reasonably happy with them. For the money, I really cannot fault it. -
Trim the aircraft :) (look for trim in the controls section, there's 4 commands you need to bind up)
