  1. You are right, however, remember the premises of this campaign, you are cut off from mother Russia, the range is a makeshift range, as for how the bombers are tracking the runway and behave, yes, you are right, they are taking off ahead of you, but they form out to sea and come back, otherwise AI is not clearing off the mountain, if i put you to circle around the airport for them, players are not fuel aware and may run out of fuel before reaching home. Mind you, this campaign is 3 years old and it will go on a major update soon-ish. Cheers,
  2. I updated the loadouts for the most missions after Razbam pulled this little trick on us. I might have overlooked this one. I'll added in the next update. Thanks for letting me know.
  3. I must have overlooked this one. You are the first one to report it. I'll have to change every mission, so it may take ED some time to put them in an update. Cheers,
  4. I'll run a test and let you know what I can find. I'll run it in both MT and Single.
  5. It's only one interception, after you go high over 10.000 meters and you turn back towards the base the GCI tells you to go low and gives you a heading, continuing on those instructions you should find a Mig-15 drone, if you go behind him then at close distance you should get the RTB message.
  6. Overlord gives you the RTB order. Listen to the Overlord lady voice, she tells you what do to. When AWACS or CIC tells you to do something, it's an order, and must be followed, that's how the chain of command works.
  7. AWACS is not fully scripted, you should be getting responses from it when interrogated with bogey dope or anything like this. If it doesn't that must be a DCS bug, If you tell me the mission name, I can ran a few tests, also, if you are asking in the unlucky event when the AWACS is in a turn and loosing track on the bogeys, you won't be getting an accurate response. Navigation is dead reckoning, later on the campaign the airports you are operating from will receive a TACAN beacon and you can use that to guide you home. the waypoints are setup next to distinguishable landmarks, lakes, forests patches, promontory, you should have a quick glance at the map when flying to a waypoint and make sure you know what to look for.
  8. Thanks a lot for posting here. So, in the mission 1. The F-5 radar is very susceptible to notching, and the plane that you have to reccon is notching your radar, so, use the AWACS menu to get bearings to it, also, build the geometry on your head to be able to intercept it, in other words, don't steer towards the heading that the AWACS gives you, when you ask for bogey dope, but plan to intercept ahead of it's course, you can pick the contact on the 20 miles radar, and at that point you can see it visual too. Now, as being the first mission, you won't be doing any fighting on this, you will be fired upon by SAM's right when you are very close to intercept the bogey, it's your decision to make, you stick with the bogey or die, to avoid the SAM's you have to apply the same tactics as in Vietnam, that's why you are getting the "take it down" calls. That was the tactic used in Vietnam to avoid SAM's by the time you evade the SA-6's and SA-3's most likely you would loose your SA and the bogey will be far from reach. The Russians are scrambling Mig-21's to escort their reccon plane and you are getting the call to come home. You are low on fuel, most likely disoriented and it would be a fight that you will loose. So you return to base and live to fight another day. There will plenty of fighting on the next mission. This campaign is scripted indeed, but you have some decisions to make as a pilot, now, the triggers are very tight, so you must hit the waypoints properly, cutting corners will make the progress very difficult, that's what i'm assuming it happened at your second try.
  9. This behavior is nothing that any campaign creator is able to control. How GPU or CPU or memory allocation works is strictly a DCS thing. My advice would be to disable absolutely all the mods and try it without. I've seen mods doing weird things in various settings. I hope you will find some answers, this will get better visibility if you post it on the bugs section for DCS. Cheers,
  10. The update with the modified load outs has been sent to ED already.
  11. Thanks, let me double check
  12. The criteria is to stay alive that's 50 points and each F-4 down is another 10 points. I tweaked the loadout and the weather and the tasks for the Su-24's and SU-17's and submitted to ED to update. Cheers,
  13. Thanks, I'll investigate. Miay likely AI changes.
  14. With the new AI they are getting out of whack, I'm working on both set of missions to try to balance it better. It's just that in total there are 75 missions to go through, it's a lot.
  15. I'm on it! Thanks
  16. It's in the works. I was hoping to include the AI for the new F-4, so I won't have to do it twice. I'll have a look at the Tacview, but, Mig-21's are very smart at avoiding AIM-7's now. That throws the whole thing out of balance.
  17. There are options now, they were not available when this campaign was developed. However, using them now may pose other challenges.
  18. Thanks a lot. That isn't right, there should be Lima's and Papa's. I checked the loadouts one some missions and you are right. I'll start modifying them, but 50 missions will take some time and it will take a while for ED to publish them. Cheers,
  19. The problem is that the AI and AA weapons characteristics are changing from one update to the other. AI behavior as well, when it comes to wingmen. The HAWK was not an issue, they are tracking but even if they launch you used to be beyond their reach, it looks like that changed somewhat, or maybe you are finding them too late. both convoy stop at the edge of the HAWK site effective cover, as it should be normal. I'll review this and see if I can balance it a bit better. The thing is that more targets are spawning once you terminate both convoys, so gun runs at night are quite fun. As I said, I'll see if I can change it somehow and still allowing you to take both convoys. Cheers,
  20. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thanks for all the support and encouragement this year. I wish you all the best, all the happiness and blue skies. Keep flying and have fun! Things to come in 2023!
  21. Hi @Gunnar81, Both groups have to be destroyed for a passing score, in the original loadout the Mav's should be used against AA, taking down the AA will make the group stop and then you go and deal with the SCUD's, that makes it always easier. Maybe I'm wrong, but when the priority should be always deal with the AA first then the objective, the original loadout should give you plenty of ordinance to deal with both. Cheers,
  22. Dang it. I'll fix it and submit it to ED. Pain in the back. Thanks
  23. Thanks a lot, yes, this is not a training campaign, operating at the limit, using ground effect to take off with heavy loads will be required, it's a fun campaign overall. I have a few missions to tweak the voices and so on and then I will submit it to ED.
