Yep, that’s how to maintain god-like status! Stab Augs are 3 axis, just like in the tomcat.

Can pilot see the runway during standard landing?
G.J.S replied to 1130's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
No problem viewing the landing area. Run the seat up if you were slightly smaller in stature (I classed myself as the worlds tallest midget ). -
That is beautiful, truly. Kudos.

F-4E Air to Air Weapons/Capabilities Discussion

110 I believe is shorter but about 8” wider. Could be a case of going down the “Spey” rabbit hole again! -
AIM-120 on display at NASM. The indented section looks to be a “see the inner workings” piece. No operational -120 has this. Not really an interesting section to “open up” really, but who knows - maybe someone likes that? *edit - yikes!! Same perspective and everything!

Indeed. Not a part of Facebook (thank god), so cannot view it. As Stackup alludes to, the front pit is basically the same, it’s just the rear pit where the sex change took place. -

Can’t speak for other variants, but there were no vents on the drag chute door that I remember. Nav light on the door, fuel vent above the door, and below, just in line with the end of the hook, we’re two vents, one either side facing downward. -

There is only really a heat problem on the ground, or at speeds below around 80kts. Above that, the airflow plays around the rear fuselage sufficiently to allow some natural cooling to take effect, even in blower. Yes, the grade of metals used does take into account the expected heat soaking, but it’s perfectly doable. The underlying structure is generally the same, lightweight but strong. -

Regarding Jester2, who knows? Should have the same general “feel” to him though, being from the same stable. The hook - heavy billet stainless steel and never have I seen one suffer from adverse heating, the back end shingles are also through and through tough as nails. They will discolour, they will tarnish, and including the inboard sections of the stab, give each individual F-4 a sort of fingerprint - no two are exactly the same! -
Thank god the ramp supports are there! They weren’t on previous developmental screenshots. (VERY visible on an F-4).

J-20, the "Mighty Dragon"

Looks well executed. Kudos. -
Has been done Usually followed by balled up bits of paper being fired from the backseat to the front, knowing that it will be the pilot who faces the wrath of ground crew who have to clean out said cockpit afterwards. Apparently. So I’ve heard. Never happened to me (and I didn’t have to by a crate of Frosties to keep them sweet . . . )

Sounds like you, in effect, are skidding. How slow are you when you go “full lock” on the steering? Too fast and you plow on, regardless of NW deflection.

No Mk84 *2 loadout under R-CFT, bug ? --- NOT bug and it exists
G.J.S replied to western_JPN's topic in Bugs and Problems
It’s certainly there, just not in the same place on the list as with the other CFT. -

Hiya Aleks, completely agree, and to be honest - jester “as is” is perfectly fine. Yes there are some times that make you just feel “old”, but for the reasons you have stated - he does well. And quite often raises a smile at certain moments! Hope you and yours are well, and settled in okay after your relocation.

There’s a Time and place . . . Echoing Victory205, aircrew in general are “business above brashness”, however humour does shine, and so it should. People ARE people after all. Yes Jester has some wince making tendencies, but I would much rather that than a robot. I really don’t know much about programming at all, and that’s putting it mildly! But Jester could do with a slider - goofy at one end, operator at the other, and depending on phase of flight and switchology, the set of recordings available could be from one end or the other. Just an idea - GOD KNOWS how easy it is to implement?

And have heard that a crabbing B-52 took out most of the runway edge lighting! Special interview with the base commander! No biscuits . . . .

Squeaky bum time in that AV-8B! Yikes
