Hornet Mission of the Week This mission takes place over the Normandy map and is designed to test your low altitude flying skills and SAM evasion tactics. Take off from the Stennis and navigate to EACH waypoint in the route. As you reach each waypoint, you’ll get a notification. The flight plan is peppered with SAMs, and hostile CAPs are overhead and will depart their CAPs and look for you if you fly higher than 1,000 feet barometric. Keep low! You are loaded with two AGM-88C HARM if you need to remove a couple SAM threats. As you’ll see, rolling hills with forests can make you near-immune from SAMs if you keep low and fast. CVN 74 is on TCN 74X and ICLS channel 11 Good luck and have fun! - Wags Normandy FA-18C-Armed Recce.miz

In parallel with the D/L, works progresses on the GPS-guided weapons like JDAM and JSOW. For those that enjoy menus, pressing buttons, and setting up profiles... you'll be in Nervana! - Wags

Certainly much work to still do, but the data link, SA page is coming along well with F/F data integration. Next will be E-2/E-3 SURV data and then network correlation. - Wags

Dear all, With one of the recent updates, the Maverick TDC for the Warthog throttle was mostly fixed. I say mostly because not all Warthog throttles were created equally and some still have issues. For instance, I have two Warthog throttles and one works great with the Maverick TDC slew while the other is a nightmare to use. As such, we are still working on an alternate method to slew the TDC without the need for a simultaneous TDC press and selected from the Options/Hornet/Special page. This is not trivial though as requires a great deal of new code to account for a new seeker uncage lock logic. Not a promise, but it should be available Feb ’19. The same engineer working on this is also responsible for JDAM/JSOW, and those are huge tasks. - Wags

Sorry, but I ran your track and there was no such issue here.

Training Lesson 13 - AMRAAM can't progress
Wags replied to Bullant's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Sorry, but I cannot reproduce this. Please take a look at the video here of a replay of the same misson. Also, for buttons like on the DDI, you may need to hold then down for greater than one second. -
You also need to uncage the seeker after getting a valid detection threshhold tone.

A little Hornet update: Much of what follows should be old news to earlier relayed plans to include: 1- TOO and PB HARM modes are in work. Once he finishes those up, he’ll start work on moving the Litening II TGP to the Hornet. However, this is not a simple copy and paste, this is still a significant amount of work, but it will allow us to bring a Hornet TGP into the game faster than the ATFLIR. 2- Huge amount of work on the data link (D/L). This is probably the most complex system for the Hornet given the network sharing and new APIs that need to be created. We are making good progress and it will be a “game changer”. This will also address a new system of IFF. 3- In additional to cleaning up the DUD and fuze logic for HD bombs, progress has been quite rapid on JDAM and JSOW. Like D/L, this is also a rather complex task that will take time. 4- Work is ongoing on the LTWS/TWS A/A radar modes. This will in turn tie into the MIDS D/L. Thanks, Wags

The missions is designed for a hot start to meet mission times.

We cannot reproduce this. The SA-6 does not now, nor ever, had the ability to engage ASMs. Please provide a track.

Yes, Early Access. Hornet Early Access Guide: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Doc There are 20 interactive training missions.

You need to be using Open Beta.

It's a combination of several factors: 1- Available data in regards to textures, DTED, GIS, etc. 2- How valid it is for training or a war zone. 3- Market interest. 4- How well it suits available aircraft modules. Thanks!

Indeed you did. The SEAD Caucasus mission has no real objective, it is just to practice against several different SAM systems including SA-2, SA-3, SA-6, SA-8, and ZSU-23-4. The SA-11 and SA-10 and ships have been removed to simplify things. Although, all SAMs can be set to not engage air-to-surface missiles. Note the locations of waypoints 7 and 8 alignment with the SA-6 strobes along those bearing. Use the waypoints as range indications to the targets. You will need to press further to engage the MiG-23s out of Tonopah. For SAM evasion, keep out of the their WEZ as much as possible, and E-pole out (turn tail and run) or place the SAM abeam with chaff and break into the missile as it closes to force it to pull more energy than it can muster.
-
There are no SAMs in the mission that have anti-ARM capability. Destroying the two SA-6 sites is actually quite easy, the MiG-23 flight on the other hand...
-
No valid A/A TCN bearing was entered. This is also only supported for multiplayer.

Mission of the Week Red Flag Iron Hand This week's mission takes place in the Nevada map as part of a Red Flag exercise. Due to the large file size, it cannot be attached. Please use this link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1wUqPuPvj00n_t0WcUrpxsDlYqBHnQ1Sz Your flight is one component of a larger strike into RED territory that consists of fighter sweeps (F-15C), strike (Tornados), and SEAD/DEAD (F/A-18C and F-16CJ). Your flight targets are two SA-6 SAM sites 20 nm southeast of Tonopah. These threats must be eliminated prior to the Tornado flights crossing the fence. RED air activity is expected to be high and consist of MiG-29, Su-27, and MiG-23. Note 1: This mission uses real radio traffic from a Red Flag exercise, but it is solely for atmosphere and has no bearing on the mission you are flying. Note 2: This can be a difficult mission with numerous threats and allied flights. This is designed for experienced Hornet pilots. If you enjoy this mission, be sure to check out the Red Flag campaigns for the A-10C, F-15C, AJS-37 Viggen, and M-2000C on our e-Shop and Steam. TASK: Destruction of Straight Flush SA-6 SAM radars at WYPT 7 and 8. In addition to the two SA-6 SAM sites, two MiG-23 Floggers fron the Red Eagles squadron will scample out of Tonopah AFB to intercept you. Both aircraft must be splashed. This is correct as is.

As I've mentioned before, we will have a data base of 60 waypoints (0-59), from which waypoints can be assigned as SEQ1/2/3, PB/PP, or AA WYPT. This is being worked on as part of the MUMI card.

There seems to be a bit of confusion on how to properly set up bomb fuzes since the 16 January Open Beta release. This video is provided to help shed some light. Thanks and have fun!
