  1. CW =/= PDI and that would mean only AIM-7F and below, as the 7M does not support CW for guidance, it uses PDI. And yes I think the point was that select older blocks could, but certainly not any as modern as 2007.
  2. As far as why ED reduced it, I think this post sums it up: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4476779&postcount=9465 TLDR; it was realistic before but to compensate for lack of EW they nerfed the CCM resistance to compensate.
  3. Right, the 100% Pk OP undefeatable SuperAMRAAM... oh wait
  4. ...but youve gotta consider how badly underperforming our F15 radar is. Surely that gives us a -1 BalanceFactor, right? :megalol: Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  5. Also as a side note now the SD 10 uses the same new CCM code as the AMRAAM, its noticably harder to notch now
  6. Just a reminder that registration ends tomorrow, so for anyone interested, now is your chance! Also, as far as weapons restrictions, the 9X will be banned, and AWACS will have EPLRS/Datalink disabled. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  7. for me and my wingman personally 1900z is a bit early, 2000z is pretty much the earliest feasible Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  8. Not really, just look at the Flanker in stuff like SATAL before the AMRAAM update; if the bandits had 120Bs it was pretty much a fair fight, with the Flankers having the notable range and NEZ of the ER vs the Fire and Forget (but much less range/NEZ) of the 120B, which also had pretty low chaff resistance. Even with 120Cs, despite similar-ish range/NEZ considering how easy they were notch, it was still manageable. Now, the current 120B is pretty much better than the old 120C in every way except in pure Stern WEZ. Its basically impossible to notch without a super accurate RWR, and is more maneuverable than the 9M or R-73. While the SA of blue jets does help, I dont think its the main reason the Flanker isnt very competitive. Not in any way saying the missile changes shouldnt have happened, they needed to for realism. Nor am I saying the goal for ED is to balance the Flanker artificially. Just pointing out that it was a lot more balanced before all the AMRAAM changes.
  9. And if the WCS indeed sees the 77-1 as a baseline 77 that would probably happen. I know for example (at least initially) with the AIM-7/9s on the F-15 that the missile WEZ data was stored in the CC, not in the missile. No idea if the 27/29 work the same way.
  10. NP, we can wait and see how things develop.
  11. So I divided it into TEAM A and TEAM B (didnt wanna use RED/BLUE as it would get confusing when sides switch). Simply post which team youd like to be on in the thread here after registering: https://alamosqn.freeforums.net/board/21/operation-sierra-hotel
  12. Sure. As for the communication I can set up subsections on our squadron forums if its cool with you.
  13. Id assume that It would be multiple squadrons on a single side, the specific question is where privately would a team plan?
  14. Alamo Squadron Alamo 1-1 | dundun92 Alamo 1-2 | Dankguy ~potentially more pending~ One question, where will the teams do the mission planning? I would be fine creating a sub-section on our squadron forums with sides for both teams.
  15. not rly, perhaps the trajectories are activated by a command from the WCS which is based on the launch parameters? Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  16. Also the cockpit of that Flanker looks pretty much identical to ours in DCS. SPO-15 included hehe.
  17. missile contrails? afaik we have then but theyre really bugged
  18. >included Su-25 >forgot Mirage
  19. I know theres a pic of ETs on the Flanker center station, which it obviously cant fire, and its doing exactly that
  20. As for the notching 120s part it kinda helps flying a plane with an RWR accurate to ±0.0000000001° :D But youre right, a smart cat pilot isnt gonna try and press into your AMRAAM range, at which point its just endless notching AIM-54s whenever he recommits, until he runs out of AIM-54s then RTBs. At least you can stay alive :D. My statement was more for the scenario when the Cat decides to press sub 10-15nm, which in airquake they normally do, and are fairly easy do deal with especially when jester is involved. And thanks for the compliment, though there are plenty of pilots better than me out there. Always room for improvement though :smilewink:.
  21. That appears to be it, thanks!
  22. The plane in the vid is a MiG-29G, so yes it definitely wouldnt be in russian afaik. The DCS MiG-29G may have some stuff changed afaik?
  23. Its not terribly hard to get in range, just sit in the notch till about 10nm (maybe a bit less if you are on the deck), and snap in to get a shot off. It can be off boresight, the main goal is to stop him from running you down, its not to kill him. He either is gonna try and notch your AMRAAMs (hard) or just run, in which case you can "pursue" him, though you are way slower. Practice vs AI first, then move to PvP
  24. Bump
