Also at 9:40 and at the beginning of this vid here is some cockpit footage of me notching AIM-54s: And a small tip: in the F-15/16/18 RWRs, AIM-54s show up as a U for unknown, not an M so you cab tell them from say an AMRAAM or R-77

I know this sounds simplistic to some but... just notch it. Seriously AIM-54s are ridiculously easy to notch. Just pull the missile through your 3-9 line while dropping chaff. AIM-54s arent really anything more than a minor annoyance once you learn to evade them. Here are some videos I made for my squadron:

As Ironhand said servers never cared about timeperiod realistic restrictions. GS, as an example, in his F-15 vs Su-27 2v4 vid stated that he'd much rather fight outnumbered than to say simply give the F-15s AIM-120Bs. That pretty much sums up DCS MP; unwilling to fly with anything but the latest and greatest avaliable weapons.

Im not sure this is just a software choice either. The F-16 radar would need to be capable of PDI illumination to use AIM-7s, which it isnt afaik. Now as for the AIM-9Ps, I'm not sure whats stopping the F-16 from carrying it actually, perhaps someone with more knowledge could step in here?

SD-10s are unrealistic for a J-11A. Period. However much you deny it. "Reaming" red planes with the SD-10 is unrealistic, unless you have evidence that the J-11A was compatible with the SD-10 (simply showing a pic of it on the jet isnt enough, there are pics of ETs on Flanker belly stations, that doesnt mean it is capable of being used there). Its that simple. I never denied that China could mod Russian jets, thats literally what the J-11B is. SD-10s on J-11As, however, werent one of those mods. Whatever other accusations/insults you wanna throw around idc. The above point still stands.

Hi, for the sake of leaving room for more squadrons, I will ask that teams have a limit of two primary entries. Any further entries would be put on a reserve list, in the event that a team couldnt show up, or if it isnt full by the deadline. Also, since there seems to be a lot more interest in this than I expected I will open up the max # of teams to 16. This does mean that the competition will likely not be completed in one day, and may have to be rolled over into a following Saturday at a similar time.

Yes we demand realism because thats the goal of DCS. Would you be behaving the same way if we demanded AIM-120Ds, and AESA radars for blue using your standard of evidence? I dont think so. AFAIK its still planned. But you also have to consider DCS EW is very poor; as an example neither the F-16 or F-18 radars are effected by ECM. Perhaps ED just doesnt think its worth spending time to add an ECM that has little to no effect on gamplay (not until it gets some kind of update anyway)?
